asking for a court-appointed attorney. he was arrested last night when he arrived in portland from las vegas to visit sons ammon and ryan bundy. "i saw a tall guy with a cowboy hat talking on his phone about burns oregon when he was on the terminal coming on the plane. i thought maybe it's an attorney or something. i just put it togther it was cliven bundy." that witness says a team of swat officers greeted bundy as he stepped off the plane in portland. hours later... the stadoff at the wildlife refuge came to an end - as the last holdout surrundered. president obama's request for additional funding to fight the virus. there are growing concerns as the zika epidemic continues to spread around the world. (thomas r. frieden, m.d., director, centers for disease control and prevention) this is a really unprecedented phenomenon. with each passing day, the evidence that zika is causally related to microcephaly gets stronger. on thursday, the heads of the centers for disease control and prevention and the national institute of allergy and infectious diseases testified on capitol hill -- where congress is considering president obama's one-point-eight billion dollar request for emergency funds to fight the disease. (sen. thad cochran, (r) mississippi) is this enough? (thomas r. frieden, m.d., director, centers for disease control and prevention) we think that will cover the next one to two years but there's a lot that we don't know. saying they are most concerned about the residents in more tropical parts of the u.s., like puerto rico and the u.s. virgin islands -- (thomas r. frieden, m.d., director, centers for disease control and prevention) we may well see tens or hundreds of thousands of zika infections in puerto rico. directors frieden and fauci said researchers are already working on a vaccine.
