often high- pressure, high security environments. that was the case during a donald trump campaign event... this past may... in albuquerque, new mexico. now - the city is removing large landscaping stones outside the convention center.... after protesters threw them at police officers - and their horses. some broke windows - adding up to 50-thousand dollars worth of damage. they're now being replaced by smaller stones. "this will not be the last protest. so why not ensure this doesn't happen again. at least the means they used prior or before." pulling away these stones that were used as weapons in some cases and vandalism tools in other cases is something we can control. the stones have also been used by the homeless - to hide drugs and syringes. there's a tasty new way - to express your political leanings. a rhode island soda maker has released some new products - dedicated to the major party candidates. are you "team hillary's blue rasberry liberal limeade".... or "team donald's strawberry peach

is dead - after a crash late last night. it happened just before 11-30 p-m.... near desert inn and fort apache. the driver has been identified by the coroner as randall arak. police say he was driving north on surfline drive - when he went off the road and collided with an

pakred car in a driveway - before hitting a pillar of a home. arak was taken to summerlin hospital and pronounced dead. investogators say he may have suffered from a medical episode - but are still waiting on the cause of death from the coroner. metro found a meth lab in the southwest valley - while serving a search warrant for an unrelated crime. police were called to the home near fort apache and el capitan around noon wednesday. police say they were serving that search warrant when they found what appeared to be a meth lab. the narcotics team came in and spent hours removing evidence from the home. one person was arrested on the original warrant involving some type of financial crime. the drug charges are still pending. unexplained actions... at a florida theme park. what a witness and her family saw... when a man attacked an exotic bird. and... a car makes a wrong turn... and lands on a tree! your fox5 weather

learn about animals. instead, she found herself trying to explain...a man. amy wallace says: "it's just a hard thing to explain to a child, how mean people can be." she says they were at the eagle exhibit tuesday evening... when they heard a commotion behind them. amy wallace says: "turned around to see a guy holding a flamingo over his head, screaming, 'i got one! i got another one!' and then 'boom'! just slammed it down to the ground." the flamingo, named pinky, was so badly injured... staff had to euthanize her. wallace says staff and park visitors were stunned by the violence... many were crying, just like her son. amy wallace says: "as soon as he realized the bird didn't get back up, he was literally screaming and crying." anthony wallace says: "yeah, i was crying the whole way there. i was like running as fast as i can to help him!" he and his mom ran to get a security guard... as her husband, a retired police officer, let his instincts take over. amy wallace says: "my husband chased the guy down around the other side of the pen and held him there until myself and the

there." joseph anthony corrao is from orlando... he served six years in the army... and three years in prison... for convictions including aggravated assault on a person 65 or older... and two counts of animal cruelty. at his court appearance wednesday morning... the judge voiced disgust at his unprovoked attack on pinky. conrad says: "it's beyond senseless. it actually borders on depraved, in my opinion, mr. corrao, i don't know if you have other issues, but i don't know who does that." pinky lived at busch gardens for 19 years... entertainin countless visitors with her dancing. amy wallace believes the man who attacked her is the one who belongs behind a fence. amy wallace says: "i hope that he gets jail time. i hope that he suffers. i hope he has to pay financially." corrao now faces a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals. he's facing up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 10- thousand dollars. no word yet on why he decided to attack the flamingos in the first place. an elevator

criminal courthouse has left a sheriff's sergeant with critical head and chest injuries - and a second employee with minor injuries. investigators say the elevator car shot up quickly to a high floor before crashing through concrete flooring above. the sheriff says responders forced the door open and found sgt. paul owens bleeding from his head. the 50-year-old is hospitalized in critical but stable condition. debris fell into an adjacent shaft and struck an elevator car in the basement. beverly smith was found inside with minor injuries. inside the elevator." reporter says: "what are you're injuries. i don't know that's why they're taking me to the hospital." reporter says: "how many floors did you fall?" mos says: "uh i was in the basement. so i don' t think it went anywhere. thing just fell down on top of the elevator." officials are still investigating what caused the elevator to malfunction. trampoline parks are growing in popularity but a new study says that's leading to a rise in trampoline injuries. it reports injuries at trampoline parks have risen from

nine hundred thirty-two in 20-14. the number of those hurt from home trampolines has stayed steady according to the report's authors. the international association of trampoline parks says with more than 50 million people visiting parks in north america in the past year -- quote "there would naturally be an increase" in the number of injuries reported. a driver loses control... crashes... and lands in a tree this is what the scene looked like in new orleans this morning.. the driver told police he lost control of his car... then drove up a cable and into the tree... the driver says he feels extremely lucky he wasn't hurt in the crash... weather anchor cassandra jones toughed it out a week after her due date and finally became a mom today! she and her husband andrew welcomed this sweet baby girl. she's often been referred to 'baby jonesy' but they named her real name is addisyn marie! she weighed in at 7 pounds, 15 ounces and is 20 and a half inches long. mom and baby are healthy and doing well... and our morning executive producer delivered this bundle of joy yesterday. she and husband bryan welcomed cameron mitchel, weighing in just over five pounds. as luck would have it, kristin was due a month after cassandra... but he decided he'd come a little early. congratulations to both of our fox5 family members and their families on these sweet new additions! you can use an a-
