remove it from the list of the most dangerous drugs. the drug enforcement administration says in a lengthy notice in the federal registry that it consulted with the health and human services department... and concluded that marijuana will remain in the class of drugs that have - quote - "no accepted medical use in the united states." marijuana therefore remains a "schedule one" substance - putting it in the same class as heroin... l-s-d... and ecstasy. despite that - more than two- dozen states and washington d-c have laws allowing medical "..there are a million plus patients in these states that are using it on a consistent basis to help with hiv and aids and glaucoma and cancer and ptsd and even just general pain." the f-d-a is opening the door to further medical research of the drug by expanding the number of agencies that can legally grow marijuana for research purposes. currently only researchers at the university of mississippi have the government's permission to grow pot. a new c-d-c study says gay, lesbian

school students are far more likely than their classmates to be raped or assaulted in a dating situation. the research also found gay teens were far more likely to have attempted suicide, taken illegal drugs and engaged in other risky behaviors. the finding echoes results of smaller surveys and findings from advocacy groups... but it is the first nationally- representative government survey to look at the issues. more than 15- thousand students participated in the anonym last year. about 8 percent of them told researchers they were gay, lesbian or bisexual. two of the three girls injured when they fell from a ferris wheel at an eastern tennessee fair - have been released from the hospital. they include a ten-year-old and a 16-year-old. however... 6- year-old sister, briley jae reynolds remains hospitalized in critical condition. private inspectors believe a mechanical failure caused the gondola to flip over monday - dropping the girls 30 to 45 feet to the ground. workers are now

it will continue through saturday without rides. a child fell off a roller coaster today - in western pennsylvania. emergency crews were called to the "idlewild and soakzone amusement park" near ligonier just after noon. according to police - the boy was conscious as he was airlifted to children's hospital of pittsburgh. no word on his condition. it's the third major theme park incident this week... on sunday - a 10- year old boy was decapitated on a waterslide in kansas. a nebraska girl who lost most of her scalp in a carnival ride accident is pushing for stricter laws to make rides safer. lulu's petition is asking for additional training for ride operators-- including medical training and c-p-r certification. chinh doan has more. deregulation offered up by her republican rival donald trump at the detroit economic club earlier this week. clinton says: "i believe every american willing to work hard should be able to find a job that provides dignity, pride and decent pay that can support a family." under clinton's tax plan corporations that move jobs overseas would be penalized. she's also wants to make public colleges and universities tuition-free for middle-class families, while making major investments in infrastructure projects. clinton says: "we are living off the investments made by our parents and grandparents." and while clinton, who's ahead in most national polls, used the opportunity to contrast her policies with that of her opponent... today's speech also served to contrast her style - issue- oriented and carefully scripted. for his part, trump again had to spend much of this week, as he did last, explaining away or doubling down on his off the cuff remarks, which many deem offensive, including the newest assertion that both clinton, and president obama, are responsible for the rise of the islamic state.

that's a neighbor of stephen rogata... of great falls, virginia. he's the 19-year- old who police say tried to climb the skycraper yesterday - reaching the 21-st floor before being pulled inside by officers. police broke windows - and even an air conditioning vent - to try and reach him. "i reached out, i took hold of his hand, and i said, 'sir, you need to come with me.' and i bought him inside with the help of my partner and we placed him in custody and handed him over to ems." rogata was taken to a hospital for a psychological evaluation. the n-y-p-d has charged him with reckless endangerment and criminal trespassing. police say rogata posted a you-tube video before the climb saying he was an independent researcher... and wanted to have a personal meeting with trump. some monuments and memorials in the nation's capitol - are in need of a good cleaning. "ok. it needs a good scrubbig then if that's not part of the desgin. " actually these splotches on the

memorial are not mold - soot - or dirt. the national park service says it's "biofilm" - micro- organisms... sticking to the surfaces. however - power washing or bleaching won't work on the bacteria that's been growing on the memorial for about ten years now... and growing worse more recently. "we want folks to understand the national park service is aware of this. that we're trying to be very good stewards of this particular iconic place." different methods have been tested on a side wall of the memorial - to help decide on the right course of action. the world war one memorial is facing a similar problem - along with other historical landmarks around washington d-c. foxes native to california's channel islands have rebounded so fast that they're no longer considered endangered. u-s wildlife officials removed three fox subspecies from the list of federally endangered species today... hailing their comeback as the fastest recovery of any mammal listed under the endangered species act. the foxes that roam san miguel, santa rosa and santa cruz islands
