after an officer spotted the bike. "he followed motorcyle in suspect got off motorcycle walk into jackpot joanies on same corner. called for other officers. they cleared the bar out and suspect came out on his own. and surrendered to detectives and officers." metro says ross is responsible for a total of nine robberies - including three this morning. police say he used a gun each time to demand money - and then left on a motorcycle parked outside. this photo is from an employee - who was held at gunpoint during the robbery -- and watched him speed off. in a statement, mayor pro tem steve ross says quote: "our entire family is stunned and devastated at this development. shane has battled addiction problems for sometime and may still be struggling with those demons. we are encouraging him to fully cooperate with

what has taken place. " robbery, grand larceny, and murder are the charges a man faces now that he's been caught after a week on the run. this is a picture from jaime santana's arrest today. metro police say he took off in a woman's car after she was found dead inside a home on lilac lane. that home is where santana lived with two others-- who didn't know who the woman was when they found her. the victim, wendy rodriguez, had been reported who hadn't seen her since the night before she was found. police found her car abandoned yesterday. a motorcyclist was killed - after hitting a highway sign post on the 215 early this morning. it happened just before 1-30... while going east - near the jones off- ramp. the highway patrol says the motorcyclist was trying to exit on jones... and entered a painted restricted area - before hitting a dirt off the freeway. the rider then struck the highway sign and then a retaining barrier - throwing him off the bike. the 28-year-old

and declared dead. witnesses says the motorcyclist was speeding - and driving in a reckless manner. a 69-year old woman was killed - after being hit by a car in henderson. it happened near eastern and horizon ridge last night ... around 8 p-m. police say the woman - identified by the coroner as juana lobos- penaloza - was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when she was hit. she was taken to the hospital - where she died. police say the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. police do not believe alcohol or ee factors in the crash. a man has been identified... nearly a week after he was hit and killed by a car in north las vegas. medical examiners say 69-year-old roy dean robnett was the person who died. police say he was hit late saturday night - near las vegas boulevard and lake mead. he was also outside a crosswalk when hit. training exercises at nellis air force base are now connected to two aircraft crashes... in just as many days. . four crew members were

treated for minor injuries after the hh-60 pave hawk helicopter went down thursday during a night practice mission. the crash happened in an undisclosed location on the vast nevada test and training range north of las vegas. a base spokesman on friday provided no additional information about the conditions of the injured or how the crash occurred. the crash came less than 15 hours after a civilian contractor pilot ejected from an a-4 skyhawk jet that crashed a short distance from nellis "draken international" says the veteran pilot - who is not from the las vegas area - was treated for minor injuries from the thursday morning crash - and is now out of the hospital. draken pilots are civilian contractors who role-play with military trainees by pretending to be enemy pilots. the pilot had just finished a combat training exercise that typically lasts about an hour and a half when he self- ejected while returning to nellis air force base. he was alone in the a-4 skyhawk... a fixed wing single- engine aircraft

used by the military in the vietnam era. no one else was hurt. the other aircrafts in the exercise landed safely. progress is being made against the blue cut fire in southern california. it's now 26- percent contained... but the damage left behind is massive. a preliminary assessment shows 96 single-family homes have been destroyed by the flames. in addition - more than 200 outbuildings have been destroyed. the blue cut fire has burned more than 37-thousand acres in san bernardino county. that's nearly 60 square miles. at one point - more than 82- thousand were affected by evacuations. many of them are only now learning the fate of their homes. the wildfire is leading to a new issue for authorities. the threat of looting. police say daniel mervine... natasha rovinsky... and trevor sanchez were trying to get away with a flatbed truck. the suspected looters told deputies they were helping a friend.

the u-s has won gold medals in rowing, shooting and judo. but some of the most prominent sports books in las vegas didn't even bother with those olympic events. bookmakers say there's been little money and few expectations for olymc wagering this year. the games returned to the betting board after being off limits for more than a decade in nevada. sporting events held at the 2016 summer games in rio de janeiro have been the first for nevada betters since the 2000 olympics in sydney. sports books say betting on the games has been small overall - but what little action they've gotten has been better than nothing. olympic organizers in rio de janeiro are joining the city's mayor... in accepting today's apology from u.s. olympic swimmer ryan lochte. lochte had called

the weekend a gunpoint robbery. brazilian police said he and three other swimmers vandalized a bathroom while intoxicated and were confronted by armed security guards. in an online post - lochte today said it was a "situation that could and should have been avoided." kim hutcherson has more. the u-s olympic committee -- apologizing for the behavior of four u-s swimmers ... and for the distraction from the olympic games. the move -- necessary, analyst christine brennan: (christine brennan/sports analyist -- alt -- usa today columnist) "the nation's looking at this and saying you know what, you're representing us and in a country, brazil, where the crime issue was so important, to tell any tall tale, a lie, whatever it might be that ryan lochte and the others told is something that just seems so wrong, especially at these games, representing the united states" according to a facebook post from brazilian civil police, jack conger and gunnar bentz - who were interviewed thursday -- denied having been victims of a robbery and

meanwhile, lochte's attorney says brazilian authorities have not asked again for assistance. but officials in brazil say they are working with the u-s to interview lochte again. even though it's likely no criminal charges will be filed, this incident could still cause trouble for the athletes. have been assigned to the man accused of us in a robbery attempt at a t-j maxx. it set off an active shooter response earlier this week. today - a preliminary hearing was set for september 1- st.... for jason mote. he faces charges of robbery, burglary and assault and with a weapon. he was arrested tuesday afternoon at a shopping center near durango near elkhorn. police say he argued with a woman in a parking lot - and then caused a disturbance in the store with a handgun later found to be fake. a highway patrol trooper arrested mote in the parking lot - and police called in a
