i'm christine maddela. the man who died: 30-year old ricardo bautista. fox 5's miguel martinez valle sat down with bautista's wife tonight. he is live near the family's north las vegas home. bautista leaves behind 3 young kids and tonight as his wife jacquelyn is trying to come to terms with this tragedy she tells me he wasn't supposed to be at work yesterday in the rs jacquelyn bautista, widow "i'm broken..... jacquelyn bautista didnt just lose her husband. she lost her best friend... .. i'm broken" her three boys lost their father ", you know my oldest son asking where's his dad... it's hard" she describes her husband, ricardo bautista, as a hard working man. the construction job that took his life, a side gig. a way for him to provide more for

to go to work , so i told him just stay home, take a day off. he said no i need to make more income" ricardo was working a project at tivoli village, he was one of three men on a scaffolding that collapsed... "they called me at 2:40 saying he had an accident i said what kind of accident tell me where is he at" he didnt make it, while the two other men managed to jump to safety, ricardo was pronounced dead at the scene... "i'm not gonna see him walk through this door no more..." as reality sets jacquelyn is left to provide for her kids the way ricardo worked so hard to provide for his family... tivoli village put out a statement yesterday after the incident saying they were shocked and saddened by the tragedy. the investigation into what caused the collapse is being handled by osha and could take several weeks to complete. a motorcyclist was killed in a crash this late this morning near downtown. nevada highway patrol says says it happened at d street and the i-15 off ramp. the motorcyclist had just gotten off the freeway when chevy somehow hit the yamaha sports bike. the driver did stay on the scene. we understand the victim was an employee at another television news station here in the valley .. and we want to extend our condolences to the victim's family and his extended family at the station. just weeks after being stung hundreds of times... a man has died. and local bee experts say-- if you see bees.. you need to call a licensed bee keeper. veteran's village is opening a second campus to help local service men and women get back on their feet. some of it is paid for by a generous one million dollar donation from n- f-l player-- steven jackson. las vegas is jackson's hometown and he wanted to give back. he played for el dorado high school before his 12 year professional career. veteran's village proves of assistance to vets including medical help... mental evaluations and job training. "i've seen the many complexities of not only as they transition from military but the difficulties they sometimes face as they try to get back used to being a civilian." "we can make sure our veterans have a place to rest, food to eat and clothes on their back." the new campus will be in downtown las vegas. it will add over 200 more housing units for vets and their families.

one adorable local girl turned her 4-th birthday into a sweet fundraiser for our police k-9 officers. nats theresa pouring lemonade in cup "thank you! thank you very much!" recognize her? this wasn't "theresa babcock's" first time in business. last month.. her lemonade stand raised more than 13-hundred dollars-- which went to the families of fallen police officers. this time... all the proceeds went on to buy protective vests for police k-9s. a federal judge ruled against three professors from the university of texas... who wanted the campus carry law thrown out... the professors say guns on campus would disrupt classroom discussions on sensitive topics -- which they say would violate free speech... the teachers wanted a preliminary injunction put into law before the first day of classes... which is tomorrow... the professors say they may file an appeal. a stabbing attack in roanoke---that initially was thought to be random... may be linked to terrorism. officials in virginia say 20- year-old wasil farooqui... attacked a male and female, with a knife over the weekend as they entered the pines apartment complex. both were severely injured. witnesses said farooqui shouted "allahu akbar", meaning 'god is great', as he carried out the attack. a law enforcement official says farooqui was previously known to the f-b-i... because of concerns over his possible radicalization, and because of possible mental health issues.
