the green valley parkway and horizon ridge location. a kid and a man around 19-years- old were involved. henderson police say one of them stole bottles of cough syrup at knifepoint... and made it out of the store. no one was hurt. afterward, police found them at an apartment complex behind the store. they were arrested and are facing burglary and robbery charges. a nevada highway patrol trooper wasn't hurt, even though someone shot him! at least one bullet hit the trooper's badge. the trooper may have also been protected by a protective vest. the trooper pulled a car over for a traffic violation just after midnight on boulder highway near u-s 95 a woman was driving the car and the suspect and another man were inside. one of the passengers ran off. the trooper chased the suspect before shots were exchanged. "man i don't know how many shots it was a lot of shooting brother, yes there was." neither the suspect nor the trooper was

administration wants all u-s blood banks to start screening for the zika virus. the major expansion intended to protect the nation's blood supply from the mosquito-borne disease. the new advisory means all u-s states and territories will need to begin testing blood donations for zika. previously - the requirement was limited to areas with active zika transmission - such as puerto rico and two florida counties. blood banks already test donations for hiv, hepatitis, west nile virus and other blood- borne viruses. federal charges against a man authorities say stole a southwest airline's truck - and crashed it into an airplane. it happened in omaha, nebraksa thursday. airport police say the man started screaming and acting strangely near the airport's parking garage. officers tried to calm him down - but he ran away, climbed over a fence, jumped into the truck and drove it head-on into a plane. a passenger says the crash shook them pretty hard. a pilot and a flight attendant suffered minor injuries - but are expected to be

two people were hurt - when a small plane crashed into a home in western indiana. the single-engine cessna plane slammed into the house thursday evening a few miles north of terre haute near sky king airport. authorities say two people were rescued from the plane wreckage and flown to a hospital. their names and conditions weren't immediately released. neighbors say no one was inside the house when the plane struck. "i was sitting out back petting the dogs on the patio, i heard what sounded like minature explosions, pop, pop, pop, it sounded like it was way off in the distance and come to find o props hitting the trees. but i didn't know what it was. then i heard maybe 5 minutes later sirens. but that's not unusual, busy clinton street here. but i kept hearing them. i though something's really going on here.
