near las vegas boulevard and lake mead. after fox five first reported the story yesterday.... a restaurant inside closed down. today - it's back open. fox 5's kathleen jacob continued her investigation today. she's is live in the fox 5 newsroom to tell us what she found. christine, john...we just got the report from the health district and their investigation of the silver nugget yesterday. health district inspectors did find 3 to 4 live insects and at least one dead one under a booth in the restuarant. them in and under cracks in the carpet and they found them crawling on the floor. the report says they also found them on the wall... but only around the one booth indicated in the complaint. here's a live look at the silver nugget tonight.. today i went into the silver nugget and offered management a chance to tell their side of the story... trying to get all sides. i told them we were running the story at 5 and gave them my contact information ... but they never got back to me. in more from the report.... the health

a pest control company investigated and sprayed on sunday when the complaint was made... and they fumigated last night. an inspection of the kitchen showed no pest issues.... in the pest control report... the chef and a manager claim the booth shown in the facebook posts barbi stenstrom put out... is not a matching booth to those in their restaurant. tonight at 6...i spoke to at least half a dozen more people since the story aired yesterday that say they've had the same thing happen to them! we'll have one of those stories tonight. live in the newsroom... kathleen jacob.. las vegas. a british man has pleaded guilty to federal charges - of trying to attack donald trump during a campaign rally here in las vegas. michael sandford is accused of grabbing a police officer's gun with a plan to shoot the g-o-p presidential nominee - during a june event at the treasure island casino. he could face about two years in prison - and be deported. he plead guilty to being an illegal alien in possession of a firearm and disrupting an official function. the 20-year-old

20 years in prison if he'd been convicted at trial of both charges. court docunts say sandford acknowledged reaching for the gun while trump was on stage. he didn't get the gun before he was arrested - and no shots were fired. a judge sentenced a man to at least six years in prison after he hit and killed a woman with a stolen truck. in his sentencing today... joshua cyran said he is still grieving the loss of his girlfriend. i just ask from godfrom you, from everybodyfor mercy and forgivenessfor this tragedy i have caused. cyran is charged with d-u-i... auto theft... and running from a scene back in april. cyran stole a truck that hit his girlfriend - when she jumped out of it. cyran's sentence? six to fifteen years in prison. once cyran is out - he will be on house arrest for two years. investigators tell us a civilian contractor pilot who ejected from a military jet last month... steered the failing aircraft toward the desert before

the national transportation safety board said the pilot reported the douglas a-4k skyhawk lost power approaching a runway at nellis air force base last month - before he parachuted safely away. he wasn't seriously hurt. the preliminary report also shows the aircraft crashed and burned about a mile north of nellis. no one on the ground was hurt. the pilot was flying back after an air combat role-playing exercise over the nevada test and training range. a tentative agreement has between n-v energy and solar-city. it could restore older, more favorable rates to about 32- thousand customers who installed or applied for a rooftop solar system before this year. n-v energy has filed the settlement - and it is now pending approval from the public utilities commission commissioners raised rates for rooftop solar customers this year - saying it corrected a subsidy that non- solar customers were paying for those who had panels. solar companies fought back - but failed in an effort to bring the rates before voters in

hardest hit by the recession... including nevada... but fox5 uncovered a recent audit by the special inspector generals office . it found that a large part of those funds weren't being given to homeowners in need... fox5's miguel martinez valle dove in to the 50 page audit to tell us what he found. this is that audit...and in its more than 50 pages it shows that in just two years the number of homeowners allowed into this program fell by 94 percent... and even though the company kept taking tarp money from the government... as you can see in this chart... they were turning away a lot more people for assistance than they were accepting the company is called nevada affordable housing assistance corporation. the state hired them to distribute tarp funding to homeowners in need. except in 2015... a little more than 491 thousand dollars actually went to homeowners, but the company expensed more than 660 thousand. and they only admitted 117 people into the program... so if
