through a small converted studio apartment downtown. "at first they didn't see the person, there was smoke coming out of there, there was a mattress laying on the floor, they pulled that mattress back, a middle aged male was lying unresponsive on the floor. " this was near washington and eastern just before seven this morning. according to las vegas fire and rescue... the fire burned a mattress, but did not spread. firefighters say the man was homeless, and was living at the property in exchange for handy work. the man suffered critical burns covering 50 perc body... and died at u-m-c. firefighters say this was an electrical fire, due to an overloaded extension cord. no one else was hurt. fox 5 is continuing their investigation into the restaurant at the silver nugget casino. earlier this week...a woman came to us with bite marks on her legs claiming she got them from bed bugs while eating at the restaurant. since then... the restaurant has closed... been inspected by the health department.. and reopened. but... we still have questions.
