a car is stolen from a valley coach... inside hundreds of dollars worth of cheerleading equipment... from pom-poms to shoes to uniforms. fox5's eric hilt talked with coaches from the las vegas aces...who are trying what to do now. "it's one of those things that gives them a sense of strength" that sense of strength -- stolen after las vegas aces cheerleaders say crooks took a car filled with cheer equipment for girls - like shoes, bows and pom- poms. "we dont have a lot of equipment, we're cheerleaders so the pom-poms are our thing'" the car belonged to a coach for the cheerleading team...who teaches more than 50 girls from ages 5 to 14. those girls held fundraisers to buy the equipment in the first place...which costs hundreds of dollars. "there were 52 sets of pom-poms which is well over 600 dollars worth of pom poms, along with various competition shoes

emergency have been declared across all of florida and several counties in north carolina... as they brace for hurricane matthew. the storm already hitting parts of the caribbean-- hard. fox's steve harrigan has more on the damage- already caused. the last thing a country with 50,000 people living in tents needed was a category 4 hurricane, but that's what haiti got as the eye of matthew passed over the southwestern tip of the island at dawn, bringing with it 145 mile per hour winds, a ten foot storm surge, and most destructive of all, more than three feet of rain. haiti's interim president says the death toll is not yet known. privert says: "there are people who are missing.
