she talked to neighbors about what happened. tonight i also talked to the suspect's dad. who's shaken up--- after hearing about the violent attack that his son's accused of. this all happened near a busy and popular park... several people who were out walking and jogging tonight... they say it's left them feeling uneasy. : "right on the road or right around here especially with all the people around that's pretty shocking" jogger, alison elliott is shocked to hear a woman was attacked here last week--- near green valley ranch while out jogging. elliot and her daughters walk this same path several times a week. green valley has really nice sidewalks they're away from the road and it feels really nice henderson police say the attack happened in the middle of the afternoon-- around 4.... here near paseo verde and desert shadow. 23-year-old michael mattingly is behind bars in connection to the assult. neighbors tell us

tape near the road. they thought there had been a car crash. "came back home, there was police tape already there and some police cars on the side and some police men around, we weren't sure what it was about" witnesses say they saw the victim.. bleeding on the sidewalk and being kicked. and say mattingly ran away from the scene-- and then tried to carjack a driver who stopped to help the woman. we reached out to that woman--- who doesn't want to be identified. still very shaken up... and told us this: "this went from one minute thinking i was approaching someone who saw her hit by a car and thought he could help to him turning violent, attempting to pull me from my car and trying to take off in my vehicle" tonight the park across the street from the attack... was busy with families as well as other runners and joggers. those we talked to... say this won't stop them from coming out here... but it does have them on edge. mattingly is charged with battery resulting in bodily harm... attempted robbery... and violation of probation. we don't know the extent of the victim's injuries-- but the witness we talked to... says the jogger... who was attacked is still in the hospital. mattingly's bond is set at 150- thousand dollars. a local high school rivalry taken too far on friday. massive fights broke out after the football game between the centennial hills bull dogs and arbor view aggies. today -- the investigation into who was involved in the fight continues. fox5's miguel martinez valle joins us now, miguel have police made any arrests ? as of now no one has been arrested for the the fight happened, and while it happened off school property at the rasing caines and

stoppers. two people were killed after a dump truck slams into another vehicle and r-v near red rock. it happened around eleven a-m on state route 160 near the charleston loop. nevada highway patrol says the brakes failed on the dump truck... before it rear- ended a sedan then crashed into a motor home. the impact caused both vehicles to go off the road. two people in the r-v died at the scene. n-dot says the crash happened in a construction zone... but it was un- related to the actual construction. the medical marijuana industry is booming. clark county is home to the most medical marijuana patients in the state. but the age group-- using medical marijuana the most... is changing the future of the industry. fox5's cyndi lundeberg is live in the newsroom to break down the numbers... when you think of a typical medical marijuana user... people over the age of 50 probably dont come to mind. but in nevada they are the largest...

only nine days away. students are already seeing the effects the debate will have on campus. most say their classes were canceled -- but some will see the hectic parking situation get worse. all on-campus lots will close on friday. it leaves students with the option of parking at the intramural field... a brand new garage off maryland parkway... or the airport -- with a shuttle taking them to and from campus.
