"hes on camera..." i spoke with the victim -- who didn't want to go on camera. she told me at about 7:30 last night she was driving to her home near valle verde and warm springs. she said when she pulled into her driveway, a man put a gun in her face and asked if she valued her life. she briefly fought back...and says looking back she probably shouldn't have done that -- but at the time she didn't know what to d insert: "i just think its a shame. you cant come and go from your own house? or your friends house?" elrita nichols lives two doors down - and heard about the carjacking right after it happened... "i happened to look out the window and i see a lot of the neighbors standing in a group so i walked out and said "whats going on?" and they say somebody was accosted in their driveway and i said "are you kidding me?"

see the crime until today. gasps "oh my god" "im so glad she wasn't hurt though" elrita says crimes like this are uncommon in her neighborhood. "that's unusual here. it just doesn't happen" ...but she's not surprised by much anymore. "you know, anymore you got to be careful. stay in your car, don't get out right away, survey your surroundings. i do that at grocery stores, and apparently im going to have to start doing at home, which is a shame" that suspect is still on the run. the victim is okay, she wasn't hurt in the exchange but her car is still missing. she is asking everybody to keep an eye out for the grey nissan rogue... you can find the car's license plate on our website. when will they vote?

director kevin bolinger is in carson city where senators just passed the amendments... but have yet to vote on the final bill. kevin is in chambers and will update us as soon as possible. and we're following breaking news-- a crash involving an rtc bus and a truck is backing up traffic on tropicana and torrey pines. metro police tell us that crash is blocking the intersection there... but no one was injured. the fire department is saying eastbound travel is affected... so avoid that area if you can. five months later-- an arrest is made in a hit and run crash that killed a man in north las vegas. 55-year-old clay stampley's family says..... qaadir isaam amin was taken into custody last week. police believe he left the scene of the crash at cheyenne and simmons back in may. facebook photos of amin following the crash showed injuries to his face.... and led to stampley's family confronting amin's wife on social media. amin's whereabouts weren't known after the crash... until now.

dollars bail. one person is dead after being shot and left in the street. police say it happened just beofre 7 a-m in a neighborhood near ogden and 15-th street. neighbors say they heard arguing outside before two or three gunshots. they say a man in his late 30s was found shot in the head and neck. police don't believe this incident is gang related. " people inside the residence hear some arguing, they hear some gunshots, they come outside, they look and see this white male shot in moving." police are looking for a small brown sedan that left the scene. they say they are looking for at least two suspects. if you know anything about this shooting call police right away. you can stay anonymous by calling crime stoppers. that number is 702-385-55-55. police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a u-s bank off hualapai and desert inn. take a look.. police say the suspect walked into the bank with a gun and a sachel over his shoulder

they say he walked up to the teller and demanded the manager. that's when he told both employees he had an explosive device and demanded cash. "we know that he intended to rob the bank, he was masked when he walked in, he also used a firearm. after the robbery the male left which he indicated was some type of explosive device. police say he left the bag on the floor and got away. the bank was evacuated so officials could remove the bag. that suspect is still on the run. a court hearing is set for a man believed to have slashed a realtor's throat. ryan vega is still in the hospital tonight after a brutal knife attack. he's a realtor and was showing a home near belmont and carey when a tenant stabbed him several times. the suspect-- daniel mora-- was gone when police arrived. mora was arrested friday when police were called back to the home for a disturbance. he is due in court wednesday

money to do hot dogs or buy a bounce house or any of those things if we didnt have a non profit that was able to funnel those funds and those donations, and really it does help improve police and community relations. the foundation gave a "thank you cut in stone" to businesses that show their dedication to a safer community. companies that sponsored the foundation secured thousands of dollars for metro's safety equipment. the money will be used for officer vest.. d community outreach. hundreds of dollars worth of homecoming decorations are stolen right from a student's car. cheyenne high school student heather rojas says it was nearly five hundred dollars worth of materials. all that money came from fundraisers by the students. their dance is set for next saturday at the school. rojas says she believes the break in happened overnight. close relationship for years, frequently teaming up on policy matters and making joint press appearances. unlike voters in other states, nevada voters do not have the option to write in their candidate of choice. but there is an option of chosing "none of these candidates." that has been on the ballot since 1975. in 2012, nearly 45- thousand nevada voters selected the none of these candidates option in the senate race... where republican dean heller unseated democrat shelle berkley. environmental ou banding together to launch ads against republican senate candidate joe heck. three groups are hashing out nearly two million dollars in english and spanish ads... the english ads focus on donations that heck recieved from the converatice koch brothers... they also say he's voted repeatedly to limit solar in nevada. the spanish ads compare heck's environmental views to those of donald trump. heck was among several republicans in nevada to pull his endorsement of trump on saturday.

has fired corey stewart-- as the head of its virginia campaign. the firing comes after stewart helped organize a protest outside the republican national committee headquarters in washington, dc monday. stewart and a group of women staffed their protest to show their support for republican presidential candidate donald trump--- despite the release of a video where trump made crude remarks about women. stewart said he organized the demonstration to also bring to light what he believes is a lack of meaningful support for trump from the rnc. wildfire seasons are getting longer and more destructive.... and humans are to blame for much of the increase. that's according to a new study by the university of idaho and columbia university... looking at western forest fires. this is video of the blue cut fire from august which scorched nearly 40-thousand acres. researchers concluded that human-caused global warming contributed to an additional 16- thousand square miles of burned forest... from 1984 to 2015.

the morning after one of the most watched debates in modern times, ken bone was soaking up the limelight and posing for pictures in his now famous red sweater. clowns have made their way overseas... parents and police in britain are on alert after clown sightings were reported near schools and in local neighborhoods. british police warning people who are thinking about using threatening weapons in this "killer clown" prank that they will be arrested. while one of these pranksters tries to say it's in good fun... one grandmother says her grandchildren are too scared to go to school after a clown ran after them with a chainsaw... who we now know is a professor at unlv's william s boyd school of law. her name is dr leslie griffin... and she was taken to sunrise hospital in critical condition. police say the attack happened around four in the afternoon last friday. witnesses say "michael mattingly" kicked and beat griffin... then tried to carjack a woman trying to intervene. police are still trying to figure out which students were involved in a massive brawl between arbor view and centennial students. the high school students got in a fight after a football game at two restaurants. one girl was seriously injured. security was increased at centennial high school, after rumors started about more fights happening. a carjacking in a henderson neighborhood is caught on video-- thanks to security cameras. it happened last night as the victim was going home near valle verde and warm springs. she says the man put a gun in her face and asked how much she values her life. she threw her keys.. and then ran after the suspect as he went to retrieve them. the victim is okay...
