fox five's chief meteorlogist ted pretty. skies stay clear this evening with temperatures in the 60s. overnight lows drop into the upper 50s with a northerly breeze across the valley mph. skies will remain mostly sunny again on thursday. we'll keep it breezy with that northerly wind blowing across southern nevada. the strongest wind will remain focused along the colorado river valley where gusts up to 35 mph are forecast for the laughlin area. high temperatures will be pushing 80 degrees thursday afternoon. we'll see a few high clouds at times friday as showers develop over arizona; all of that rain will stay off to our east. temperatures remain mild with highs around 80 through the middle of next week. no rain is in the las vegas forecast over the next 7 days.

to andre agassi prep to voice their concerns about a merger with a school on the east coast called "democracy prep" fox 5s cyndi lundeberg is live there for us right now. john christine it was a very heated night. people protesting yelled at each other at the board at the members visiting from democracy prep. the meeting began at 530.... and if is just getting over. at one point there was close to 100 people waiting to speak to the board during the open session portion. when democracy prep got up to give a presentation abojt half of the audience left. the people opposed to the merger cited concerns about longer school days.. cutting of sports and lack of special education opportunities for students.
