keeping the calories in check... ally happy sunday, good morning to you, thanks so much for just a few days away and of course everybody over-eats or at least you think you're going satisfied and not miserable. whitney yes, so we're just going to talk all kind of thanksgiving tips today because this is the time of year people do start to eat years just from all of that holiday eating. so i am not here to tell you that favorite hopefully keep that extra weight off because we don't want new years to roll around and then you have ten pounds to loose.
8:47 am
so kind of starting at my end, i have pie here. and that's to remind you, that whatever your favorite treat is at thanksgiving, i like to say pick one or two anything that you know isn't on your usual, l heathly eating plan, just pick one or two things that way you don't load your plate with all those things because then your calories will be out of control. ally that way it really is like a plate that was realistic, yet would make a dietitian somewhat happy. so what you want to do rule, where vegetables should take up half of your plate, a because i did count corn as a know what, i would be pretty protein option, as long as you're taking the skin off, and really between the white meat and dark meat there's not a huge difference,
8:48 am
big enough that if you enjoy flavor of the dark meat but i keep the calories a little lower with the white meat. whatever dishes you are making, if you can go either fresh or frozen we like to recomend that for sodium over and make sure no sodium is added. ally and that would apply for you can use either fresh ingredients or frozen, and make that sodium in check a little bit. there is always, or usually, i guess at ours we always have a relish tray, so keeping that in you don't want to cook anything. instead of regular ranch i have used greek yogurt mixed with a you too to build your own little more fiber, and lower glycemic index to help keep your blood sugar a little bit more stable. i know i usually

potato because i like them, and i don't go home very often so she does that. like i said before white potatos are not bad, it just helps with that glycemic index and that vitiman a, so if you have a choice, not not the candied sweet potatos, but the whole sweet potato. and of for yourself we do have options that turkey fix, but you don't have to cook the whole fifteen pound bird. that way you can still have a heathly and a fun thanksgiving. ally ok, well whitney thank you so much, well be sure to put this online. happy thanksgiving in advance, lauren, back to you. thanks ally. online you can find more tips and recipes, just head over to kwwl dot
