one of the most dangerous intersections in iowa. police are asking drivers to use caution when shopping in that area. kwwl's nikki newbrough is live near there. nikki you spoke to police today. they say this intersection has been bad for years. and with people driving here from all different parts of eastern iowa, this highway gets pretty busy. the intersection is always in the top ten for the most dangerous intersections in iowa. recently landing at number four. police say there's a lot of traffic here because of all the new business going up in the viking road put up signs to alert this 60 mile an hour traffic to slow down. "and some of those accidents are very serious and all because of all the new christmas time. so we've done things to alleviate that." it's all an effort to make sure everyone stays safe, but also have

an enjoyable holiday season. if you live here and know this area, police urge you to take alturnate routes to get here. such as cedar heights and viking road, prairie parkway off of greenhill, or even hudson road to viking. we've got you covered live in cedar falls nikki newbrough kwwl news. police say the d- o-t knows how dangerous that intersection is. there have been a few community meetings about it and relief is in sight. new details... a man is arrested and charged to a series of attacks on the university of iowa campus. university police arrested 32-year- old adam weinstein. he was arrested after he was released from university of iowa hospitals and clinics, where he was committed after being apprehended on november 10. weinstein faces multiple charges including third degree sexual abuse. the incidents sparked two hawk alerts on november 10.

a fire in linn county destroys a home and a camper that was also in the 2000 block of central city road just a few miles outside of downtown central city. kwwl's kristin rogers she was in saw the damage. she joins us live from the linn county sheriff's office, who also responded to tt fire... that's right, deputies from the linn county sheriff's office were working on traffic control during the fire, i was out there today as you mentioned, and this house is located off of a very busy road. the most unusual thing about this fire though, is that two firemen were injured on scene. (cg: brian gardner/ linn county sheriff says about the fact two firemen were hurt on the ene of this house fire... i'm told a fireman from (cg: brian gardner) "an injury to his lower leg, he was transported to the hospital for treatment." (cg: kristin rogers) "the central city fire chief tells me the process," a dog he thinks was trying to protect his home, that unfortunetly is a and two people were inside of the house at the time of the fire.

appears that something started in the area of the recreational you can see how easy it would be for the fire to spread, escape but one person from the camper is being treated for smoke inhalation. (cg: brian gardner) "this close to the holidays it's a tragic event a person would lose their possessions and also their home, but it looks like other than one person having smoke inhalation injuries that he was treated for, is being treated for, and then of course the two firemen that were injured, things probably could have been worse." the central city fire chief tells me the dog that caused the bite just recieved it's shots about a week ago. the fireman who was bit was able to return to work at the scene. we have no word tonight on the condition of the resident with smoke inhalation, or the fireman

with the leg injury from alburnett. we've got you covered in linn county, kristin rogers ...kwwl news. the fire is being investigated by the central city fire department and the linn county sheriff's office. they do believe as kristin mentioned, the fire started in the camper and then spread to the home. a teen charged with first degree murder is making a deal. according to court records, 4- year-old robert humbles will plead to voluntary manslaughter for shooting and killing 15-year-old aaron richardson. humbles was originally charged with first degree murder in the september shooting in cedar rapids. records say the shooting occurred after facebook and text message threats were made between two rival groups. waterloo police investigate a shooting -- in the quality inn kwwl's macleod hageman visits the scene today.

amanda -- people say they are relieved a person was taken into custody -- but police are investigating whether more 11 o-clock at night -- after complaints of shots fired in the quality inn parking lot. moments later -- 26- year-old keesha tu was taken into custody for a non-related probation violation . when they did get the real name they realized the person had a warrant out of linn county." "nearby business owners and fireworks late at night. mmments later, waterloo police arrived and started investigating the incident." "it doesn't matter whether it's east side or west side, we investigate them all, and try to determine who's doing the shots fired." captain dave mohlis says a handgun was also found in a nearby car. "whether that weapon was used in the incident itself of shots fired is undetermined. we're still investigating that part." a quality inn employee says the hotel was at 20-percent capacity duing the shooting -- and they do not believe guests were in any immediate danger during the incident.
