he leaves behind a wife and two children. police responding to a report of a woman bleeding from an injury to the neck. it happened in the 13-hundred block of grand avenue in marion during the early morning hours. 50-year-old david merrifield was taken into custody and charged with willful injury and domestic assault with a weapon -- which police say was a knife. 42-year-old teresa plein suffered serious -- butnon-life threatening injuriis in the incident. police arrest a man accused of abusing a baby who suffered at least 20 fractures. 21-year-old rodney weatherwax, of council bluffs, is charged with childd endangerment and assault. according to court records -- he injured the baby at least three seperate times between septemb and november. the child was born in lat july. weatatrwax remains in the pottawattamie county jail. authorities are searching for a local man accused of throwing hot grease on his dog and burning him, the warrant is issued for

fort dodge. they say the alleged abuse caused second and third degree burns to the dog's head and face. the dog received veterinary care anan is now being t tken care of by another person. a truck on its way to iowa --carrying more than two-thousand piglets -- overturns on the highway. take a look at the truck on itss side in north carolina. animal control officers working to contain the piglets as crews put the truck back up right. authorities say some of the pigs were seriously injured in t te crash. one person is killed after after a head-on collision with a semi. the iowa state patrol says jospeh harris crossed the center line on highway 146 north of grinnell -- and it the semi. harris was killed in the crash - which remains under investigation. one man is in the hospital after a house fire on the west side of davenport. three other adults and four children were able to get out of the home unharmed. the victim's name has not been released -- but he was transferred to university of iowa hospitals and clinics. the cause of the fire is under

spending a mere 217-thousand dollars. a civil rights activist in dubuque will now be remembered, thanks to the dubuque city council. the council voting last night to rename the multicultural family center to the ruby sutton building. sutton was an instrumental figure in dubuque during the civil rights movement. she died earlier this year. switching sports on ya well talk getting ready for that matchup with stanford. the hawks resumed practice last week following a short break for finals. the hawks are scheduled to leave for know this is a business trip. " yea were gonna enjoy the trip obviously we put ourselves in business trip were out there for one reason and its to win the you gotta enjoy the fesitvites but at the end of the day we gotta make sure were doing the things we need to do to win the game." no one wants to end the season with a loss especially the season we had going 12-1.... i dont want to end that type of season on a loss so this would be a huge win for our program. thanks rick.
