working hard to better save lives. they spent the day training for ice and cold water rescues. it's an important type of training, the department put to use in real life situations, 8 times in 2015. kwwl's kristin rogers has been watching this training take place, kristin what''s it like? it's pretty amazing. there is a lo that goes into making this type of rescue, and days like today are how they learn and polish the skills needed to do so. firemen can be seen hoping right in to the icy water, they practice both saving themselves as well as laying the victctm, and having others come to their rescue. the suits they are wearing are insulated to the point where they are not even cold in the water. it's an annual traiing that

decision 2016... all eyes our on iowa- ...as the countdown continues until caucus day on february first. the race to the white house is parties. kwwl's lauren moss joins us now live, with more on the run to the caucuss day. that's right- it feels more like a sprint right now amanda.. you know we're getting close to the big day- when multiple candidates are in-state at the same time. in fact, there aree4 campaign stops here in iowa - just this week alone now, majority of those stops are from ted cruz - for his "cruzin' to caucus" bus tour throughtout the state. rigg now, it's a ttht race between cruz and trump here in iowa but the latest g-o-p polls, have cruz still leading in iowa. on the other side of the aisle, democratic frontrunner hillary clinton just left iowa but she will be back soon. while in des moines earlier this week, shdidn't really comment on trump's recent personal attacks on her and herrhusband... butut she said trump's heated words should make him "unfit to lead."
