a big surprise for some eastern iowans -- a former president drops in as they're eating lunch... bill clinton in eastern iowa yesterday to campaign for his wife hillary. he stopped by new-bo city market in cedar rapids for lunch and to answer some questions from business owners, workers, and customers. president clinton speaking about everything from nutrition -- to gun control. the former president also spoke at two campaign events -- one in cedar rapids and this one in dubuque. about 500 people showing up to hotel julien clinton drew on his experience not only as a president, but as hillary's husband--saying he's seen her get things done long before she held any office. but it was an interruption that provided the most memorable moment of the night. my phone's ringing...i'll have to call hillary back and explain why i can't take it." clinton stuck around for about 30 minutes after he was done talking, connecting with many in the crowd and taking plenty of selfies...

today i witnessed a great ending to a tough story i shared earlier this week..... a little more than a month ago... someone stole a rare-motorized bike off of brett garbes's front porch... brett dealt with stomach cancer and a clogged artery... he says he can't ride a normal bike and doesn't have a money for a car right now.... this bike was the only way he could get around... today someone called cedar falls police saying they recognized the bike at dollar general after watching our news story.... i was there when brett first saw his bike again.... he said he was shocked that it was all in one piece and the motor was still working. this bike was worth at least one thousand one hundred dollars... brett said this bike is not only we've got you covered... live in the newsroom... amanda gilbert.....kwwl news. thank you amanda -- a timely find there... coming up... an inspiring teen is grappling the odds to excel in a sport she loves...
