cedar falls... this all happenening in the 2 thousand block of tree- mont street in cedar falls. the call came in around 6 this we had a crew on scene- take a look at this video..you can see heavy smoke could be seen coming from the back porch area. no word on any injuries at this time.. or the extent of any damage this morning. we will keep you updated as more information becomes avaliable. waterloo police are investigating a possible home break in - the 27- hundred block of lafayette street... this was the scene last night... according to a person in the area -- the people who lived here- had a surveillance application set up on their phone -- and could see and hear someone breaking in. according to people in the area -- they also heard gunshots. cedar rapids police investigate three shootings this weekend... police responded to gunshots in the 15-hundred block of fifth avenue south east -- around seven o-clock on friday. police say a man was shot -- but is

then after one a.m. on saturday -- street north east -- where two people were shot. the third complaint came in at 1-45 -- near the 9- hundred block of maplewood drive -- where another person was injured. at this point -- authorities are investigating whether the shootings are connected... no arrests have been made. this weekend's frigid weather has led to problems for iowa drivers. as two accidents turn deadly. 80 near west liberty. the driver of a vehicle was passing another in the left lane -- and quickly came across a broken down car- in the road. the driver tried to avoid the car -- and lost control on ice. troopers say the driver crashed -- and both cars went in the ditch. they say the 23- year-old driver was not wearing a seatbelt -- and died during the incident. meanwhile -- another crash reported on highway 20 in sac county. troopers say the driver lost control -- and the vehicle rolled.

loyal k-w-w-l viewers teresa and bill ruth sent us this photo. they say they both created this tiger -- and it took nearly three hours in the rain last night -- including another hour today with the finishing touches. teresa says this is their third sculpture... two boys were rescued after they fell through thin ice on a pond in the northeast this weekend... police say the boys -- who are 9 into the middle of the pond and fell through... three boys that weren't on the ice ...ran to get help... and that's where john couco picks the story up for us... surround a hole in this brockton pond behind the plouffe school....left after a heroic rescue. around 6:30 sunday evening a 12 year old and a 9 year old were playing on ice. "they went too far into the

these three boys were all there...but they stayed off the ice... when their friends went through...they immediately got help. car then ran into the cold, dark to get them. they were able to get the 9 year old out... the 12 year old. "he was completely submerged "the guys did a great job, they were determined to find this kid and they did" fire fighters say the young boy didn't have a pulse and wasn't breathing when he was pulled from the pond....but was brought back. 7 news is told the two boys are now recovering at the hospital.... thanks to the brockton fire department, two brave good "it could have been my kid, or thankful for what they did. i'm just praying that those two kids are ok" daring rescue there! please be careful outside though. these winter conditions are very dangerous.
