clinton leading sanders by 25 points nationally, 59 to 34. martin o'malley raking in just two percent. these numbers coming out just as the candidates went head to head in the final debate before the caucus. the three candidates took the stage in charleston, south carolina last night. the debate focused on two big issues - health care and gun control. former governor of maryland martin o'malley called the issue of gun control "personal." the two frontrunners argued over sanders' "flip-flops" on gun control policies. he has voted with the nra, with call, the charleston loophole. he voted for immunity from gunmakers and sellers which the nra said, "was the most important piece of gun legisllion in 20 years i think secretary clinton knows that what she says is very disingenuous. i have a d-minus

linn county jail -- and facee several charges. we're continuing to follow this story, with more at 5 and 6. one person is taken to the hospital following a house fire. it happened along hammond avenue in waterloo. firefighters worked through bitterly cold weather. witnesses say it appeared the home was damaged -- but not destroyed. firefighters rescued four cats from the home...they're now with animal control being treatatd. keeping warm in this weather can be dangerous. in boone county, a mother and her three children died. firefighters say the fire started in the back of the home from a space heater the family was using to keep pets warm. crews say they had trouble fighting the fire -- because of "we had a tough time, there tower and froze it up. then (we) ended up going g x miles away and hauling water from there." the husband and father of this family was at work during the

coralville later today. senator rick santorum is also in eastern iowa today. he's campaigning in waterloo a cedar falls nail salon is damaged today -- after a dririer crashes into it. according to cedar falls police -- the driver was the salon owner's wife. since the business closed moments before the crash -- nobody was inside -- and nobody was injured. cedd falls police responded to the incident yesterday on brandilynn boulevard before 4-30. according to police -- they believe the cause was operator error. a kwwl fofolow-up. we've learned the name of a man injured in an officer-involved shooting. the iowa division of criminal investigation says timothy seefeldt allegedly stole a hummer from a estaurant friday night around ten o-clock. a muscatine sheriff's deputy and a muscatine police officer stopped seefeldt, but say he tried to get away. officers fired several shots -- and the drver was eventually hihi he was taken to the hospital but is expected to recover. in davenport -- police investigate a bar fight that led to three

being hurt -- at least two of them stabbed. it happened before 11 o-clock saturday night at the hawkeye tap. in the end -- three people were taken to the hospital. no arrests have been made. a missouri police officer shoots and kills a man inside a fast food restaurant. it happened sunday night in saint louis. authorities say the suspect had just robbed a kentucky fried chicken. a witness flagged down a pollce ergeant and alerted him to the hold-up. authorities say the sergeant opened fire after the suspect raised a handgun... and refused an order to drop the weapon. the police department is investigating. this afternoon-- police are still trying to figure out what happened... after three people are found dead inside a home. police found the bodies of two men and a woman. this happenene near the state university of new york. two of the people killed were student athletes. one played baketball and one was a hockey player. the third i can tell you that no gun was the scene
