that's south of new hampton. here's a picture from the new hampton chickasaw county tribune. the iowa state patrol says bertha smith -- from waterloo -- did not yield to a semi. they crashed into each other. latorris duffie, keith demry and devin gordin all died. all three were in their twenties. authorities say they were not wearing seat belts. smith and another person were taken to the hospital. the semi driver was not hurt. this morning, a campaign volunteer for ben carson is being remembered as a bright young man. the volunteer was killed yesterday in a crash in western iowa. braden joplin was in a van -- with other carson volunteers. the van flipped on an icy road and was hit by another vehicle. it happened near atlantic, iowa. carson was campaigning in south carolina at the time -- and has suspended all of his events to "braden joplin was an amazing young man. i had an opportunity was

joplin. volunteers were treated and released from the hospital after the crash. this morning, investigators are trying to figure out what caused a deadly fire. the crawford county sheriffs office says two sisters were killed in that fire. trinity. lena was 12. her sister was 15. that fire happened in wauzeka, wisconsin -- about 20 miles outside prairie du chein. neighbors say someone driving by noticed smoke coming out of the home monday night. they tried getting inside to "the house behind me is fully engulfed in flames and pretty much beyond the point of saving." authorities say the girls were home alone -- their parents were at work at the time of the fire. a huge apartment fire in philadelphia is now under

it took crews about two hours to knock it down. two firefighters were hurt -- but they should be ok. an arrest is made in an eastern iowa bank robbery. police say the suspect had a fake gun. authorities say a witness told them someone with a gun held up the u.s. bank on william street in iowa city. police say they later found the suspect, clifton brinkmeyer, and a fake, plastic gun. he's being charged with second degree robbery. parents, students and staff are hoping for a more typical school day at iowa city west. yesterday, classes were shut down because of a bomb threat. police officers and k9's checked out the high school -- as students were bussed to the hawkeye tennis and rec center. we heard from students about "everyone listen up, listen up, listen up, he said it like five threat to our school, we didn't know what kind of threat, but just a threat and everybody was to get their coats and meet in the gym." from there students tell us they
