a developing story this morning: 25 years in prison for an eastern iowa woman in the death of her toddler. mireya balderas, of iowa city, was sentenced on child endangerment charges.s. her 20-month old son -- marcus-- four years ago. autopsy results show he died of blunt force trauma. her ex-boyfriend was sentenced to 50 years in prison last year in the case. in dubuque - one man's murder trial is being pushed back. robert stern will go on trial for first degree murder on april 26th. he's accusese of shootinggand killing his daughter last year. stern allegedly told police he was angry with her - so he shot her. this morning, a five-year-old girl is recovering after the car she was in crashed into a business. it happened in clermont sunday night. james tacket was driving. he died. he was 38. authorities say he alcohol might have been a factor. a five-year-old was in the back seat.

"lotta work" responsible for stripping, priming, and painting the entire house. he's heard it all - from neighbors who pass by. 30 inches of snow put the brakes on a lot over the weekend. but that didn't keep one west virginia doctor from etting to work. he just used his tractor. he plowed rough the snoww-- "we're wired to do this stuff, the weather, that's kind of what we do best." the 13-mile drive to work typically takes him about 15 minutes. but with that much snow on the grgrund... it took an hour. that's dedication. the time now is coming up -- she escapes her backyard to get a front row view of a race. but the view wasn't enough. she starts running... and running... and running. plus you don't see this every day in iowa. bullwinkle is spotted in one part of the state.

the cyclones win again. iowa state hosting number four kansas last night. the jayhawks had a seven point lead at the half, but the cyclones turned it up in the final 20 minutes. they would get their first lead of the game with nine minutes to . iowa statt would throttle kansas in the second half -- and go on to win 85-72. the cyclones have now won four in a row.( they've also beaten the top ranked team in the country this season -- along with the third and fourth ranked teams in this week's poll. it doesn't get much easier. iowa state goes to fifth-ranked texas a and m on saturday. the team ranked number three in this week's poll -- the iowa hawkeyes. it's the highest ranking for the program in almost 30 years. iowa goes to number eight maryland on thursday. a hockey fan scores big with special request. one young lady was hoping a player for columbus would score so her dad

he came through. in fact, he scored three tiies. a similar request was made sunday for a different player -- who also had a goal. that means the "score and i get a puppy" kids are batting a thousand ss far. now to a surprise runner in a half- marathon. earlier this month, a dog turned up at the starting line of a race in alabama. the dog otted along wiwih runnrs for the entire 13- point-one-mile race. she competed without a human or a leash.... and finished in seventh place! she then went home and took a long nap. this is a rare sight for a western iowa man. a moose. a man from carroll, iowa got this video. he and his family saw the moose on the running through a field near manilla -- in wwstern iowa we expect super bowl tickets to be expensive... we just didn't know how pricey. the average resale price of a ticket to super bowl 50 between carolina and denver tops five thousand dollars. that's according to one ticket
