a lawsuit is filed accusing two dubuque police officers of pepper- spraying several children and a pregnant woman without cause. the suit was filed tuesday and claims the officers used excessive force and unlawfully arrested two children while responding to an august incident. the accusers are seeking punitive damages and compensation for injuries. police spokesman lt. scott baxter says officials cannot comment during litigation. gun violence in cedar rapids is on the rise and the police department is making it clear -- they are not tolerating it. the department forming a new group in response, to combat the violence in the city, and specifically gun violence. the group is called the police community action team, or p-cat for short. kwwl's kristin rogers was at that news conference this morning, kristin what is this all about? it's interesting to point out the word action in that name, that's exactly what

responding to regular calls of service instead, their sole job is going to be addressing the violence in this city. this video you see and other." is from various shooting scenes in cedar rapids within the last year, which led to this today. (cg: ron corbett/ mayor) were 100 incidents of firearms discharging in 2015, that''s slightly up from 96 in 2014, but way up from just 56 three years ago. the police department announced it's responding, by forming a new team. (cg: kristin rogers) "the group was formed in direct responce to violence increasing in the city, specifically gun violence." it's known as the police community action team or p-cat and it's made up of four veteran officers and douglas doyle, a sergeant. they've been working since january 9th and had success their very first day (cg: douglas doyle/ in charge of pcat) "ended up apprehending a subject with a gun, that was carrying a gun illegally." for some who call this city home

coming monday starting at seven pm. many gathered to hear from donald trump last night in iowa city at the university of iowa. before he gave his speech, trump brought members of the hawkeye football and wrestling team up on stage - saying "they were so nice, they endorsed trump." when the group went offstage, they presented trump with an unofficial hawkeye jersey. today ui athletic director gary barta released this statement: university of iowa student- athletics are encouraged to participate in the political process as individuals. however, like any endorsement by a student or faculty member, their participation should not be considered representative of the entire team or university. we are confident that no violations of ncaa rules and regulations have taken place. another incident took place at
