evening, but as a cold front tracks through late this evening and overnight, there is a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. the best chance would be from dubuque, to cedar rapids, to sigourney and points south east. some of those storms could be strong, producing hail and heavy downpours, but severe cave early this morning. it happened near bunker hill golf course in dubuque. police say a man and woman, wanted to explore the cave. police say they went through a storm sewer -- and got trapped a couple hundred feet down. "i think people are gonna do what they want, and not care, but definetly if you go cave diving you should be more prepared, i think." the man in the incident -- 28-year- old dallas black is charged with trespassing. the woman's name has not been

critical condition. new at ten -- university of iowa's burge residence hall is no longer on lock-down mode tonight -- after police responded to a complaint of an active shooter. it turns out -- it was all a joke. around five o- clock -- a student called campus police and said a friend sent them a text message that said there was an active shooter in burge hall. police responded -- and students started evacuating. moments later -- the same student called back and said his friend told him it was all a joke. police -- and nobody was arrested. a hawk alert was not sent to a dubuque man is in jail -- in connection to a murder. according to the jackson county sheriff's office -- 25-year-old cody richey was arrested after midnight. richey's bail is set at 350-thousand dollars. according to the sheriff's office facebook page -- they called richey one of the most wanted men in the area. a spray-painted word on the side of a mosque is covered up tonight

moines were arrested today at the dakota access pipeline in keokuk. take a look -- they were there to stop construction of the pipeline. they claimed to be water protectors -- not protestors -- to stop a crude oil pipeline from going under the mississippi and missouri rivers. one catholic worker says -- they we will continue this nonviolent effort around the clock and have no intention of giving up. at least four people are dead after a truck drivers veers off a crowd of people in san diego. california highway patrol troopers say the driver hit a guard rail and veered off the road they say the truck fell nearly 60 feet off the bridge and onto a crowd of people below. at least four people died and nine others were hurt. police say alcohol played a role in the deadly crash and they have issued a warrant for the driver's arrest for drunk driving.
