details on this investigation, walt? >> reporter: well, yes, prosecutors here painted it as the the most horrifying family car trip you could ever imagine, patricia davenport a mother loading her 15 year-old daughters, 16 year-old boyfriend and sometime her eight year-old son in the car, and taking them to dangerous philadelphia drug corners where they purchased and later ingested the drug heroin. can you explain to us why you allegedly did this. >> reporter: police say patricia davenport invited her 15 year-old daughter in the kitchen of this harleysville apartment where they formally lived in the for a snack but for her first taste of the deadly drug heroin. >> it is incomprehensible to me that any parent would ever introduce their children, their child, to drugs like this. >> reporter: for the next six months davenport allegedly drove her daughter and her daughter's boyfriend to philadelphia drug corners, allegedly injecting herself and the teenager with the

newly purchased heroin on the ride home. >> mostly just shock. it is hard to understand why someone would do that. >> reporter: prosecutors claim davenport on some trips brought along her eight year-old son who got a firsthand look at the drug being purchased and injected. an arrest warrant revealing during one trip the boy observed their mother with a syringe, and asked about it. what would you say tour eight year-old son? allegations, prosecutors say, a clear warning about just how big a threat heroin has become. >> really, you know, it gives you some idea the magnitude of this heroin problem right now that it doesn't matter where you live, you will be having a problem dealing with this problem. >> reporter: now prosecutors say that no heroin was given to the eight years old, and they credit a classmate of the 15 year-olds with coming forward in high school, notifying school officials, who then say that they noticed

track marks on the 15 year-old's arm. finally a female friend of mrs. davenport is also charged in this case, she's expected to be arraigned tomorrow. live at montgomery county courthouse i'm walt hunter for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we're following breaking news now chopper three is live over atlantic city where casino workers are blocking a major entrance to the city. we are looking at missouri and arctic avenues, these are members of the local 54 who are protesting, proposed health benefit cut for union members at trump taj mahal casino. several protesters have been arrested for sitting and blocking that intersection. trump entertainment resorts, owner of taj mahal filed for bankruptcy last month and says it could close next month. some important new information here in the ebola out break, health officials in frisco, texas say they are looking at a possible second case of that virus. first responders, transported a deputy sheriff to the hospital, after he complained of problems with his stomach.

pervasive. >> reporter: working with the world health organization, he has been in places on and off the last six months. he said conditions are difficult, treatment options limited. >> at a personal and professional level that can be very tough because you are seeing people that are experiencing an illness that has a high mortality rate but half of them are more will die. >> reporter: ebola has taken center stage here at an annual conference of infectious disease specialist meeting in philadelphia. >> fortunately here, it is a very different kind of illness in terms of keeping things under control but also in treating patients as that is a real distinction to the value in west africa. >> reporter: doctor fouler says he and other health care workers are careful treating patients always in protective gear to guard against body fluids which is howie bowl a spreads but he is still watching out for any symptoms. >> do you take your temperature every day. >> not every day if there is any suspicion that suggest isn't quite right then would

all shattered. >> wow. all of the injuries are said to be minor from this crash, investigators believe operator error may have played a role. well, four people including a child are rushed to the hospital after this school bus accident. chopper three over the scene on island avenue and lindberg boulevard in southwest philadelphia, one of the injuries from this crash was serious. cause of the crash is under investigation tonight. police are searching for suspects who slashed tires and broke into cars in west philadelphia. those vandals struck on south farugot street and three cars were broken in to 11 vehicles had their tires slash. police spent the day looking for evidence. >> these performance tires, they cost about at least $600 for new tires and these tires are still brand new. >> police believe those suspects hit sometime

between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. passenger is kick off a jet blue flight from philadelphia to boston after comments involving the pilot and alcohol. lisa carter knight was stranded at philadelphia international airport overnight after she claims that the pilot forced her off that flight. jet blue indicated another passenger accused the pilot of being drunk after a mechanical delay. carter knight tweeted about the delay and she tells "eyewitness news" that is why she was removed from the plane. >> i was just doing what i do with my kids, sharing information with my friends and i was frustrated, i was sitting there without a flight home and i miss might children and now i'm here at 1:00 in the morning with my mother who had surgery this weekend to pick me up because a jet blue pilot made a decision to kick me off this flight. >> jet blue released a statement reading in part we will remove a customer if they are disruptive and crew evaluating there is a risk ofes lacing whiz could lead to an unsafe environment. what do you think about

bobby rydel has been reunited with his music. a suit cade fell out of his wife's car. well, it turns out a young couple from havertown, spotted the suitcase on west chester pike and pick it up. after doing research they connect with rydel through facebook. as a reward, rydel will treat the couple to dinner. well, a new distillery in south jersey is not only making vodka but making history. lazy distillery in richland began operation this is week and as "eyewitness news", new jersey reporter cleve bryan shows us, it is one of the

first craft spirit distilleries following passage of the law last year. >> each one of these plates is a separate distill lacing. >> reporter: the the distilling spirits is for the family, and for years they have made vodka and other liquors, but now it has become a business. a state law that went to effect this past year allows licenses for craft distilleries. >> with the new law in the state of new jersey, we have jumped on it immediately and decided let's open up, a business, that we can pass down to our two sons. >> reporter: lazy eye distillery began operation this is week in the richland section of buena vista township. one of three craft distillery is a proved in new jersey and first to specialize in vodka. >> everyone has different taste thaw will see our vodka has a distinct taste. >> reporter: one thing that makes it unique is it has a great base mash making it gluten free. idea between the craft distillery toys create a new

wind gust this is afternoon. dover, at the the air force base a 39-mile an hour gusts, and you can say that is at air force base but look at inland, saint charles in cinnaminson this afternoon gusting to 38 miles an hour. 34 miles an hour gusts at university of pennsylvania in philadelphia, and even at reynolds middle school in hamilton gusting to 30. those winds that warmed us up are diminishing right now and we will be seeing a clear sky overnight, a very pretty night with moon lit skies and temperatures falling. right now in philadelphia down to 72. sixty in the poconos. zero seven in trenton and wilmington. sixty-eight in lancaster. north and west some cooler air in buffalo, state college in the 50's already, 70's to the south but the 50's will win out, we are going to be seeing that jet stream taking a little bit of the dip over the course of the weekend and as it does, instead of the 70's we will than talking about the 60's but here is the one more nice day, that is for your thursday, and the breezy conditions, lift to the north, it is still will be a little bit breezy but not like it was today. high temperatures around 70

which is seasonal for this time of the year and friday we will watch our next system snake from the west. it is stationary boundary. to the north temperatures in the 60's, to the south temperatures in the 70's and 80's rather cool end of this system and we will stay that way. some showers, and especially during the morning hours, on saturday, giving way to some drying. this is the future weather as we look ahead, clouds rolling in for friday morning. then the rain, especially to the the south friday afternoon and lifts up north, saturday morning. so between 7:00 a.m. and noonan saturday, it is going to be wet. so we have a soccer practice or games, flag football, morning not looking so great but then by the the afternoon drying out in the sky that is clearing out. so we have one and a half nice days across the board for the weekend. overnight mainly clear low of 53 in the city, 40's in the suburbs. tomorrow looking pretty high temperature 70 degrees and on the exclusive eye witt the necessary weather seven daze forecast friday only 62. showers mainly south, and saturday 64, with morning rain
