to handle viruses like ebola. emery university hospital, in atlanta is another, 29 year-old nurse amber vinson was moved there last night to be treated for ebola. hazmat crews continued decontaminating her apartment in dallas today. pham and vinson were on a team of 75 health care work hours cared for thomas duncan before he died last week. duncan's fiance says an executive with texas health presbyterian call her and apologized. official told her that the hospital was deeply sorry that they could not save his life. so far in one duncan has stayed with in dallas has gotten sick. we have learned the identity of the man with the clipboard who got within several fees of vinson being transferred yesterday. man who was not wearing pretechtive gear is a medical safety coordinator with phoenix air, a company executive tells cbs news that the safety coordinator does not wear gear so he can act as the team's eyes and ears on the tarmac and that they are

trained to keep a safe distance from patient. phoenix air says it has transported 11e we will a patients and no crew members caught the virus n dallas omar villafranca for "eyewitness news". lets go to capitol hill. lawmakers grill the director of the cdc and other health officials about the response to ebola. this hearing comes after a revelation that the cdc allowed a dallas nurse who is now being treated for the virus to board a commercial air liner. >> my understanding is she did contact the cdc and we discussed with her, her reported symptoms as well as other evaluations. my understanding is she reported no symptoms to us. >> reporter: director of the cdc says he remains confident in the ability of the u.s. health care system to fight ebola. we will have much more on that hearing in a full report, 59:30. well, is philadelphia ready to handle an ebola out break. >> reporter: philadelphia's fire commissioner testified new call screening procedures are in place, and 911 dispatchers asking additional questions, and for those who are calling with certain symptoms, a story cbs-3 first reported on on tuesday. >> one of these suits were issued we received a lot of calls from paramedic and fire fight's like, with real concerns. >> reporter: fire union president joe shuly says these protective suits which city began to distribute to go firehousees during the the day, that include a paper mask and booties do not provide a sufficient barrier to keep first responders safe. >> they should be wearing bio hazmat chemical suits and that is what we assumed, wrongfully show that is what the department would be outfitting our members in. >> reporter: now philadelphia fire department officials, say that the suits meet all current cdc standards, and coming up at 6:00 you'll hear from a veteran nurse who says that philadelphia needs to make improvements and also here from a member of the

a couple have of cars were traveling east bound and they veered off the roadway when one crossed into the other's lane near montgomery avenue. one of the drivers was not wearing a seat belt and was killed in that crash. breaking news, now, hundreds of philadelphia's schoolteachers take over school district headquarters. >> they are protesting ahead of the will school reform commission meeting, chopper three is live over spring garden and you can see that huge crowd there teachers union members angry once again that the src canceled their contract earlier this month. northern liberties to explain exactly what is going on, todd? >> reporter: a lottery will be held here in a matter of minutes and when it is all said and done 250 kids will be told they can in longer go to school here last night parents were told about the plan to hold a lottery. >> i feel very blind sided because like i said, we have been supportive, supportive, supportive the whole time and then all of a sudden we have an emergency meeting and you tell us it is a lottery pick and it is october. that is so unfair. >> reporter: there be a lot of empty chairs come this monday, 250 in all who gets to stay will be left to chance, and walter d palmer, president and founder of the charter school that bears his name. highs school is in northern liberties and frankford are out $300,000 a month, he claims, after recently losing a long court battle with the philadelphia school district. the two sides have been arguing for years over reimbursement money. >> all i can do is hug them, kiss them, pray them, help guide them because they have

a bizarre incident involving this school bus you see here with two people, standing right next to it. a person driving on the southbound roosevelt boulevard

near levick street pulled up, alongside the bus. now the driver yelled at kids on the bus, and then pulled in front of the bus, and then stopped. the driver then sprayed mace at the the front of the bus and police are searching for that driver. luckily in one was injured. home invasion is in olney and leaves one man in the hospital. police say two men entered this home in the 200 block of widener street through the front door just after 7:00. a 46 year-old man was shot in the stomach, and taken to einstein hospital in stable condition. it is unclear if it was a home owner or one of the suspects, who was shot. it is also still unclear what motivated a shooting and what may have been taken. so far police have not made any arrests in the case. vice-president, visits touring the latest phase of the delaware river dredging project. this 300 million-dollar project aims to and date larger boats which can ship more goods in and out of ports. the army core of engineers is deepening the delaware from 40
