news" for monday april 20th, 2015. good morning. good to be with you. i'm anne-marie green. this morning six people are under arrest in connection with a terrorism investigation tracking young people who have tried to join extremist groups overseas. the joint terrorism task force was based in minnesota. the arrests were made in minneapolis and san diego. the investigation was tracking youths who have already travelled to syria or tried to to fight with militants including the islamic states. a handful of minnesotans have traveled to syria to try to fight with ill many tanlts this year. at least one has died. now another white house fence jumper is under arrest. the intruder hopped the fence around 10:30 on the south side of the white house. the white house lawn was bathed in spotlights. the intruder was immediately

grabbed by uniformed secret service officers. the intruder carried a pickage that turned out to be harmless. this morning the risk of severe weather extends across the southeast, and the storm system is headed up the atlantic coast. tornado watches are posted in louisiana, arkansas, mississippi, and tennessee. the cleanup continues this morning after strong winds, rain and possibly a tornado swept through aiken south carolina yesterday, but no injuries are reported. eric fisher meteorologist of our boston station wbz has the forecast. >> it was a very stormy weekend across the southeast. now the threat is moving toward the east coast as we kick off the week. a big sprawling storm system. heavy rainfall moving up through philly, new york and over toward boston by the afternoon and also thunderstorms that will pop during the afternoon and evening. with these we could see damaging winds and large hail in the i-95

corridor. highlighting the area from central p.a. on down the east coast into central parts of florida, a fairly rare to end threat could rule out. in terms of that heavy rain plus the wind coming in off the water, big boston marathon taking place for monday morning and it's going to be a very trying afternoon for a lot of the runners there. wind will be in the faces of many of them and heavy rainfall in the afternoon. the story this week a colder air taking back a lot of residents here in the eastern united states. a pattern reminiscent of win but not quite as cold as january. i'm eric fisher, meteorologist of the cbs news. the baltimore police department is conducting a criminal investigation into the death of fredsy y freddy grey. he died yesterday a week after he was arrested. mark albert has our report. >> reporter: this amateur video shows a limp freby grey being

carried his feet dragging on the ground put into a police van. there he was put in additional restraints 30678 minutes later please called an ambulance. he spent the next week in a coma. his mother did not want to be identified when she spoke to the station. >> hmm-mm. relatives and friends held a protest saturday. police won't say why four bicycle officers first stopped the 27-year-old, why he ran from them, or how he became critically hurt. on sunday hours after his death, baltimore's mayor stephanie rawlings-blake urged calm. i assure you we'll hold the right people accountable. >> she's calling for them to

release the video. mark albert cbs news, washington. one of the largest forensic scandals in this country's history is unfolding possibly affecting the outcomes of hundreds of trials including more than a does where the death penalty was implenlted. the fbi reportedly admits experts in hair analysis division gave flawed testimony for more than two decades. jericka duncan reports. >> reporter: before the dna became prevalent the fbi relied on initial evidence sfiems building cases on microscopic analysis of hair, but in 2012 federal officials launched an investigation after the "washington post" reported that flawed forensic hair matches might have led to the convictions of hundreds of innocent people. in a full report the innocence project and the national association of criminal defense lawyers will say that from the

1970s through 1999 25 of 29 fbi forensic examiners made errors in their testimony, impacting 257 cases. the report also says out of 18 executions, 12 of them had errors in testimony or lab reports. co-founder peter neufeld says this could mean hundreds of apiecea people could have to be retried. >> reporter: the justice department issued a statement saying the department and fbi are committed to ensuring that affected defendants are notified of past errors and that justice is done in every instance. the video that surfaced of mchenry was edited and we don't know what else may have been said by the employee. that's part of the reason why some of mchenry's reporters are

now using the #teambrit. the somali terrorist group ail shah bad is claiming responsibility. a bomb blasted a bus. at least six people are dead. al shabaab is lived to al qaeda and is related to the kenyan attack that left 148 people dead. this morning they're searching for hundreds of migrants missing in the mediterranean after a smuggler's boat overturned off the coast. as of last night only a dozen have been rescued and 24 recovered. the boat was headed from libya to europe. a surge of migrants have been making dangerous trip to escape turmoil in south africa and the northeast. and isis is sending a chilling message to christians it controls. it released a video that reports

to show the mass execution of ethiopian christians. they say christians must convert to islam. they line up the victims. some are shot. others are beheaded on the beach. in 2013 a chemical gas attack killed 1,400 civilians on the outskirts of damascus. on last night's 6ht 60 minutes" it shows the gas. no one has been held responsible. international weapons inspector scott karnes was in damascus the day of the attacks. >> what witness sticks in your mind as the person you cannot forget? >> there are several a

excitement is building this morning in london for the arrival of the royal baby. the second child of prince william and his wife duchess kate is thought to be due this week, but the media frenzy is more subdued than it was for the birth of prince george less than two years ago. susan mcginnis is in london. cheerio, susan. >> good morning, anne-marie. it is definitely more subdued.

the news comings on the fifth anniversary of the deepwater horizon accident that killed 11 workers. the project announced today announces restoring the sea turtle population along the gulf. huge demand for the lily post collection has caused a frenzy at the target stores. and overwhelmed the website. the limited collection sold out within minutes at target stores and online. by yesterday afternoon they announced no more inventory would be available. stocks on wall street finished a week lower. the dow finished 231 points lower for the week. the s&p lost 20 points and the nasdaq was down 63 points. a just released study finds aspirin may help ward off gastrointestinal cancers. harvard researchers listed beta in women. they found a 20% lower risk of
