naturally slowed down by the wet weather. on shore flow, look at the winds direction, because of the on shore flow you're basically grabbing that moisture, and with the breeze that will blow, raw, chilly, very dreary soggy day. so heaviest and steadiest rain is falling as we speak. i think you can see the rain early any time today. 48 degrees the current temperature at philadelphia international airport. persistent northeast wind flow at 15-mile per hour, in cac, 49 degrees, so stronger wind near the shore towns. but that said, throughout the course of the day, breezy conditions, will last us into tonight. tomorrow we start to warm back up again, lingering shower, then very gradually skies should start to clear out. look ahead to wednesday, though, that will be a much warmer day. so i'll tell you exactly how high the thermometer will

spike coming up. meantime pat take it away. i got to get inside where it is dry. >> no rain, no rain in here. there is rainout side, though. there is rainout side on the roadways, reaking some havoc as the morning commute heats up. a look at 95 southbound at the girard point bridge. there is an accident that is blocking the right lane, police activity there. right now this morning, so it will take you little extra time in you are headed in this direct. also 9595 delaware county 452, the tail light are headed northbound, volume starting to pick up in this area. as we head into the 6:00 hour. 422 at valley forge, the tail light are headed eastbound, you're starting to see the volume pick up here as well, take your time, ponding, puddles on the roadways, all of that stuff, it means that the commute is going to take a little bit longer. and here is the major accident of the morning on the burlington bristol bridge. an accident has all lanes blocked. so it will take you way more time in this area.

officer jacai colson from the boothwyne area, played football here, playing as starting quarterback, finished here in 200, a went onto college, in virginia where he played defensive back. spent the last several years rising through the ranks of a maryland police force most recently to an undercover narcotics officer, and those who knew him well say he died doing what he loved, serving the community. officer jacai colson just days from his 29th birthday died sunday from wounds suffered in what's being called an un provoke attack. and now, shock waves of sorrow are spreading from prince george's county maryland where colson served. >> the officers are devastated. >> two delaware county pennsylvania where he grew up. >> i'm getting calls from players now, older guys, younger guys, because he had that impact. >> 4:30 sunday prince george's county maryland police say he was one of two officers shot

outside his lands over station some 10 miles northwest of washington dc. a witness described the shooter as is a man wearing all black. he also was eventually shot and wounded in a shoot-out with police. >> the community needs to know that one of your defenders has been lost. >> by 9:00 p.m. sunday, colson a four year veteran officer died at a near boy hospital. back in his hometown chichester high coach remembers jacai as a natural born hero and leader. >> we put him as is a starting quarterback as a sophomore, and it went great. it is because he had this quiet way there is leadership way, do as dow, do as i say. >> coach was not surprised the star quarterback was called to civil service. >> he led this community. he led our team obviously. this is a sad day. >> and back in maryland, two suspect are now in custody in connection to this shooting. the fbi, and also atf, are involved, and back here in delaware county we are told that colson's grandfather also

senseless killing. >> i definitely will be more cautious. i think i usually a.m. this is unreal. so i definitely will be more careful. >> watching over your back little more, being more cautious. >> reporter: as for motive police have not officially released one. investigators say there was some type of verbal argument before this stabbing, between the victim and the suspect. reporting here at police headquarters, greg argos, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". new this morning, fire tears through a row home in the fair hills section of philadelphia. there are no reported injuries. that fire started around 3:00 this morning on the 300 block of west somerset street. it was under control in less than a half hour. investigators are looking for a cause. happening today, a judge hears arguments on changing the jail sentence for the woman convicted in a attack on same sex cup nel center city. defense attorneys call kathryn knott's sentence excessive. knott serving five to ten month jail sentence for her role in september 2014 attack
