in critical condition after getting shot in the back in west philadelphia. "eyewitness news" on the scene at 60th and 59. no word on the victim's identity. no arrests have been made. septa says it's locate add group young children seen on cell phone video attacking riders on the el train last we week. those children who appear to be around sick or seven years old recorded yelling obscenity, hitting and even spitting on passengers. police say the four boys got on the train with an adult at second and market. and the disturbing behavior continued until they got off the train at york and dauphin. septa tracked down the group and connected them with social services. we are hearing tonight from an abington couple who was victimized not once but twice. someone helped themselves to their belonging after their house caught fire. "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live in abington with more on just what happened. david? >> reporter: jessica, this is a tough story. one thing to lose your home in a fire arc home you've been living in for almost three decades,

then to be victimized again by theft. to night this couple says they just want everything back. >> i got burned. i got out of my house save. my family got out of the house save. >> reporter: these charred dining room chairs are painful reminder of a powerful fire that ripped through michael and adrian abington they shared for almost 30 years. >> it was a hectic evening. that's what i remember. >> reporter: abington police say after the fire was out, someone broke into the condemned home, stole adrian's engagement and anniversary rings, plus a credit card. >> i felt like because i had been a victim of a fire someone took the opportunity to victimize me even more because they felt like, oh, the insurance will pay 40. >> reporter: police say this man used that credit card in several stores on broad street in north philadelphia. they don't know if he actually broke into the house but they do know he's using the card.

resort. term minnick agreed to pay the fine it stopped using the pesticide in the us and its territories. last year steven he is mon his wife theresa and their two teenagers got sick while staying at a resort in saint john. former montgomery county district attorney bruce castor is pennsylvania's new solicitor general. the appointment makes castor second in command to embattled attorney general kathleen kane. he's expected to oversee the age see's administrative duties. kane is schedule to go to trial in august on charges she leaked secret grand jury material and lied about it. she's not seeking re-election. final four fever is sweeping the villanova university campus with students and alumni snatching up gear. continues to climb. ♪ >> when off cold, how do you feel? >> terrible. >> what are the symptoms. >> runny knows, sore throat. >> causing and sneezing. >> stuffy. >> you just don't feel good. you feel like crap. >> what about allergies? same thing. >> the same. >> itchy eyes. >> sneezing. tiredness. cough. >> how do you know the difference? >> i guess it's hard to tell. >> even for doctors. for us distinguishing between does my patient have allergies or a cold can be really difficult. >> dr. jennifer arc family figure at rowan university's school of osteopathic shed zen there are a few weeks to separate colds from allergies. >> if you're getting a fever chances are it's a cold or vir virus. >> that's something good to kn know. >> second thing muscle aches and pains more like cold or virus or bacteria. >> i agree with that, yes. normally with allergies i don't think you'll get a body ache. >> the last thing would be itchy and watery eyes. that's a really sort of hallmark allergy symptom. >> dr. jenn says it's also important to pay attention to

the onset of symptoms. >> you will get those allergy symptoms right away. okay. thatters no warming up to it. if you're exposed you'll get the symptoms. however, a cold is more likely going to come over the course of a few days. >> then there's duration. >> cold or like the flu that will last for a few days to a couple weeks at most. allergies if you're not treated, for example, will last for as long as the allergy season las lasts. or as long as you're exposed to the allergens. >> right. pollen count up and everything. >> as for treatment this doc says antihistamines work best for allergies. colds and viruses can be treated with over the counter dead mode indication or antibiotics. >> we learned something today. i glad you stopped us on the side of the road. >> dr. jenn says about 20% of people suv from allergies and you can get them at any age symptoms are worse in children and adults in their theirs and 40s and the doctor tells me you can even have periods where you have no symptoms at all. it creeps back on you.

the winds are starting to die down now, but now the temperatures are steadily dropping and tomorrow morning you'll need to head out to the bus stop or work maybe warm up the car even temperatures below freezing in some spots the chill yesterday night we've felt in sometime. let's take look what's happening weather wise. time lapsed video. this is from our live neighborhood network the leadership academy in philadelphia. started off on great note. darken these two cameras let me take you through the time lapse at sun advise. look at this day. it's just blue sky as far as the eye can see. a few puffy wear weather cumulus drifting through and that perfectly clear cobalt blue sky all afternoon until sunset just a gorgeous, gorgeous day, but the wind made it feel whole lot colder than the thermometer had you believe. the winds are starting to slacken a bit. here's the overall pattern want to zoom out completely you can see on storm scan3 the cold air in place over the northeast thanks departing storm over the

canadian maritime province. it brought us wet weather on monday. move on out. we have high pressure building in from the west but the pressure gradient has been creating those strong gusty winds. the good news, we will see that pressure gradient continue to weaken overnight and into tomorrow and tomorrow the wind not much of an issue. a cold start to the day. but a nice warm finish to the afternoon. right now it's 46 in philadelphia. it's 40 degrees in reading. 37 in al hadn't town already. we're down below freezing already in mount pocono. and in many spots especially north and west of philadelphia could see temperatures slightly below the freezing mark early tomorrow morning. it's been kind of up and down week. we were in the 60s yesterday. back to the 50s near 60 today. tomorrow we're right around 60 degrees. slightly above average. and then we shoot up to the 70s for one day that day is thursday. don't get used it to though. by the weekend we start to tumble downward again. we're talking about highs potentially not making it past the 40s by sunday. when you wake up tomorrow morning again below freezing temperatures in allentown, reading lancaster, mount pocono

in the 20s. we're at 35 degrees here in philadelphia. but the good news is tomorrow is another day like today with that brilliant blue sky, cloud less skies, gorgeous afternoon. 3:00 p.m. no problems. here comes our next system approaching from the west. thursday they will main all of to our west. we'll see clouds and some sun. it's a breezy and milder day in the 70s but by the time you leave work thursday possible al couple of showers looks like the bulk of that will hold off until friday so friday morning we start to see some rain and looking alt periods of rain off and on throughout the day friday that will then usher in the cold air so brief warmup thursday into friday. them we usher in cold pocket of air from portions of canada and we see temperatures really steadily drop through the weekend. cold start to our new month. overnight mainly clear, less win it will be cold. tomorrow chilly start then we're back to 60 with sunshine in the afternoon. beautiful wednesday. your "eyewitness weather" seven day forecast enjoy wednesday. it's the nicest day of the week. thursday looks good as well just a few more clouds nice and warm.
