a young woman in the fight of her life after police say this man tried to rape her. how police say she got away. and we are still tracking showers and even a few thunderstorms as we head through the overnight hours. when the heaviest rain will fall overnight and when it clears out in time for your weekend outdoor plans. and countdown to primary day. the presidential candidates have their sights set on pennsylvania and delaware. where they spend the day campaigning and where they'll be over the next few days. but we begin night with a neighborhood on alert. good evening, i'm jessica dean. >> i'm ukee washington. police say a young woman's quick thinking helped her fight off her attacker and tonight that attack kerry mains on the loose. natasha brown is in south phil right now with more on the search for the suspect. natasha? >> reporter: well, police say this victim was certainly in the fight of her live on that particular night. meantime, they tell us that this suspect is still out there somewhere. so as you can imagine nerves are still rattled here in this neighborhood.

>> i walk past here all the time to go to work so it's really kind of disturbing. >> reporter: dana jordan's walk to work has much more unnerving on the heels of attempted sexual assault that occurred along her normal path. >> she was in the fight her life. >> reporter: police say 1984 old woman found herself in fierce fight with a man who was trying to rape her. she was walking home wednesday at about 1:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of wharton street when she noticed a man following her. detectives say that's when she quickly trapped p grabbed her mace. >> she was aware that she was being followed she thought she was and as a precaution she took it out and correct in doing so. if it wasn't for that, who knows what would have happened. >> reporter: surveillance video from the area provided police with clear images of the suspect. also, a glimpse at the victim's struggle her hand scene here around the suspect's neck. >> the offender then rushed up behind her, grabbed her, tackled her to the ground, and he pulled her dress down --, the top of her dress he pulled down exposing her. she managed to fight him off and pepper spray him at which time

not be known for while. prince was found dead in his suburban minneapolis home yesterday and we're learning more about the final hours of his life. the local sheriff says he was last seen wednesday night when friends dropped him off at home. employees found him slumped in an elevator on thursday morning. >> this is a tragedy for all of us. to you, prince rogers nelson was a celebrity. to us, he's a community member and a good neighbor. >> since word of prince's death thousands have been taking part in a dance party in minneapolis featuring the music of the artist. it's expected to last all weekend. family and friends are mourning the death of a beloved high school student. vigil was held for 16 year old amy joyner frances outside of howard high school technology this afternoon. that's where she was attacked in girl's bathroom yesterday. she later died at a hospital. police say at least two other students were involved. but no arrests have been made. >> crazy because it's like

my house or walk around the city, sit outside. eat alfresco tomorrows look beautiful. let's take a look what's going on. today we started off with lots of sun and sun and warm wind from the southwest helped temperatures rise into the upper 70s. 78 in philadelphia today. you can see how the clouds rolled in the late afternoon most of the rain held off. we did see some showers pop up here and there mainly off to our south this afternoon but you can see now we're starting to get these showers moving a little bit closer. we're still in a bit of a lull here. we're seeing some light showers over portions of south jersey and delaware. the heaviest rain is across portions of the carolinas and virginia but you can see here over portions of central pennsylvania a line of steadier showers has developed now this first patch here the instead yesterday batch should probably miss us to the north. but eventually these showers an few thunderstorms possibly will roll through overnight. right now the instead yesterday rain some showers over burlington county. up into northeast philadelphia portions of lower bucks county seeing rain at the moment. nothing quite that heavy yet but overnight a rumble of thunder

cannot be ruled out. so 66 is the temperature right now in philadelphia. definitely warm enough that these storms could have little bit of a moisture and heat to work with as they come through tonight. 66 in allentown. it's 68 degrees in trenton right now. you can see timing wise, we do expect this to move in closer to around 2:00 a.m. some rain down the shore even before that. 3am showers still crossing that was. 5am you may wake up if you're up early on saturday you're crazy unless you have to go to work you should be sleeping. showers moving through finally by 10am the showers move out and then we start to see clearing and by the afternoon sunny pretty much across the board. overnight scattered showers, localized brief downpour is possible. imbeded thunderstorm as well a crack of thunder could wake you up overnight. gradual clearing the day on saturday and temperatures in the 60s near 70 tomorrow afternoon. it will be a breezy day but still really nice. high pressure overhead sunday means wall to wall sunshine little bit cooler mainly because we start the day cooler on sunday thanks to clear sky but monday we warm right back up to the upper 70s.

so again we've got your cooler, crisp spring weather mid 60s on sunday. if you like a little warmer we're back near 80 to start next week. overnight showers, rumbles it's a mild night. of course torque night was the first night of passover so if you're celebrating with friends and family the showers really held off until after that. happy passover to those celebrating its its morning clouds a shower and it turns sunny in the afternoon 69 will be your daytime high. not a bad saturday at all. pennsylvania primary on tuesday. thunder showers return to the area. a lot like today probably more thunderstorms during the daylight hours on tuesday. so kind of an up and down forecast. it's not that straight stretch of sunny weather but we get a great weekend. beautiful monday. thunderstorm tuesday and back to the good stuff next wednesday. all in all, april has been pretty good to us. >> it really has. >> it definitely has. >> thanks kate. >> don is back. what's next in sports. >> talking about the action on the ice. they trailed thee-zero in the series and look like they had no chance. oh, how things have changed.
