not affect the five states that vote tomorrow. trump has a big lead in polls there. as does hillary clinton on the democratic side. >> i'm just working hard to win on tuesday. >> clinton, who is close to locking up the nomination, released new television ad in the state's voting tomorrow calling for bernie sanders supporters to join her. >> sanders says he's staling in the race until the end. craig boswell, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". john kasich took a grass roots approach to his visit to philadelphia today. kasich made a stop at penn rose diner in south philadelphia, where he handed out high fives and took a moment to chat with a daughter and her dad sitting down for breakfast, he explained his reasoning for teaming up with ted cruz, to beat donald trump. >> two of us are competing, more to win the nomination, and to get and to make sure that we can steward our resources, so we can stop hillary clinton.

cbs-3 skydeck to tell us when the storms will arrive. katy? >> well, thankfully, jim, looks like it will hole off for yet another day here, moisture starts to build up in the atmosphere, feels pretty comfortable outside all things considered, eventually moisture does take over, eventually we have to track front crossing through. but we've got lots of sunshine for you out there right now. bright, sunny everywhere, couple of additional clouds overhead than what we saw yesterday. still, nice day. let me show you what's up on storm scan3, frankly, what's going on out there with high pressure still holding tough for one final day, although we are going to eventually see specially the northern tier of the radar, fill in, with a little bit of moisture. we will be tracking those storms for you, little bit more, with morphine pick tooth comb here as we look forwards in the forecast, right now off to comfortable start, 71 dover, upper 60s at the airport as well as up at allentown, really nice beginning to this afternoon, and we expect we will continue the rebounds easily get into the mid and upper 70s around the region, at the resort towns, mid and upper 60s,

still with sunshine it is a nice day. as i mention, though, storminess on the move for us, by tomorrow, we will be dodging some scattered showers in the morning, then see that storminess pick up in intensity, through the course of the p.m. hours, so coming up in my full forecast, later in the show, i'm going to give you more of the window of time that you probably will want to keep the umbrella ready specially if that's when you plan to hit the polls. so stick around for. that will jim, brooke, we send it back into you for now. >> thanks, katie. besides the candidates, philadelphia is getting another high profile visitor this morning, vice president joe biden. our own anita oh live at the community college of philadelphia, where the vice president and his wife, doctor jill biden, are expected within the hour. hey, anita? >> have i president and his wife jill about to speak about making things more affordable, including the goal to make community college completely free. as you can see behind me there is room starting to fill up before the biden take the

stage here in about an hour, at 1:00. now the community college of philadelphia is just one school that has been offering a tuition free program, for qualifying students, since last year part of the ongoing goal to provide affordable education, as tuition costs and student debt rise. the biden's today are expected to announce new $100 million grant by the white house, that aims to create more work force training, and partnerships between employers and community colleges. the administration has said before that access to quality education is the first step in helping build the skills and training that young people need, to be successful and land a high paying job. so again, the biden's will be taking the stage here at 1:00 at the community college of philadelphia, and then they'll be head today washington, d.c. next. live here, in the community college of philadelphia, anita oh, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> thanks so much, and eat a more us troops are heading to syria to ramp up fight against isis. president obama made

announcement during his trip with european leaders in germany. >> small number of american special operations forces are already on the grounds in syria, and their expertise has been critical as local forces have driven isil out of key areas. given success, approved deployment of 250 additional us personnel in syria including special force toss keep up this momentum. >> the new deployments will bring the number of us special forces in syria to 300. we expect to learn more later today after autopsy for the man shot and killed inside a montgomery county church. police say a fight broke out sunday morning between two members of the keystone fellowship church in north wales. twenty-seven year old robert braxton was shot in the chest and he died short time later at lan field hospital. the man who allegedly shot the other man, is cooperating with investigators. >> community meeting is set for tonight, in delaware, to discuss the violence that left a teenager dead at her school last week. sixteen year old amy joiner francis seen here on the right

was attacked in a girls bathroom, right inside howard high school of technology in wilmington. she later died at the hospital. police say at least two student were involved but so far no one has been arrested. tonight's meeting will take place at stubs elementary school at 6:00 p.m. in other news, one person had to jump from the upper floors to escape this house fire in north philadelphia earlier today. the flames tore through the home near fourth and glenwood at about 8:15. the person who jumped to safety was returned to temple hospital, their condition isn't known right now, so far there is no word on how the fire started. >> well, coming up on "eyewitness news": you have heard the warnings about the dangers of these popular detergent pods? but changes are on the way. we'll tell you what companies are doing to make them safer. >> plus, check this out. a sinkhole opens before your very eyes. more of this video when we come

couldn't move just laying there. >> we want parent, take caution with it, take it up in the cabinet, put it behind the locks, you know, cabinet lock. >> several companies are now coating the pods with a bitter taste to prevent children from biting into them. the new packages hit store shelves next month. >> the coast guard puts an ends to adventurer's mission of writing an inflatable bubble from florida to bermuda. the coast guard tweeted this picture after they pick up he and his hydro pod yesterday afternoon. trip was supposed to last five months, but the coast guard towed him to shore after just two days. he moved the bubble by running into it like a giant hamster wheel. this was also his second attempt at the trip. he failed back in 2014 and back then the coast guard warned him not to try this again because it wasn't safe. traffic cameras in china catch the moment a giant sinkhole opens in the middle of a busy intersection. the hole opened just moments after police put down traffic cones in the city of hangjew.

another gorgeous day out there, little warmer than yesterday, talking upper 70s this afternoon, yes, very warm with the nice high sun angle, we'll do little better than that here today, eventually some storminess does make return appearance to the forecast, yes, eventually break out the umbrella once more, but for now, what we are finding out there nothing but cup ill of clouds overhead, and high pressure still brinking in very nice weather for one more day, later tonight though things do starting to a bit downhill. we will track everything for you since it is a big day tomorrow for a lot of people going out, that may be otherwise you wouldn't be if you are just going to the polls. you will opportunity pay attention, we will tike -- time it out. first, beautiful shot. "skycam 3", overlooking ocean sit, roller coasters, cannot wait until the unofficial beginning to the summer had memorial day, all of the picnics, beach weekends get underway, my favorite time of year. next up, we will take to you pocono camera here, actually out over camelback at the point, overlooking far in the distance just the valley region and mountains, absolutely beautiful looking day. you have got few more clouds

up this way, and that is a sign of yet things to come which we will discuss. looking at live neighbor haded network no problem seeing making out center city skyline well off in the distance, taken from palmyra cove nature park in palmyra, new jersey, 67 degrees there, product owes breeze out of the south-southwest, find flow coming out of the south-southwest really important, because, fa, helps to bring in some of the warmth that we're experiencing out there, but b, also is going to help usher in the moisture that we're going to need for us to eventually see some wet weather fire up. at the moment you can see, at least the combination of warmfront lifting off, cold enough to produce some snow, well across the canadian border, but we stay dry today. really the colds front, not at this point, not showing too much in the way of any wet weather, but this eventually will come through, see the little line of clouds? that will end up being the cold front dragging through some showers and storms. later in the week separate system that comes along. so tomorrow showers, thunderstorms, which we will track for you for primary day,

clearing out wednesday, sunny and actually very nice, and then more clouds and showers on thursday, with a separate disturbance moving in. so yes, kind. every other day plan. back to what happens tomorrow. we will be sitting in a marginal risk for severe weather to gave you a idea of the categorization that is the lowest risk possible on the totem pole, more of general risk not necessarily severe risk outside of this darker green zone. but any storm sells that bubble up could turn locally strong, possibly severe. so there will be heavy downpours embedded when some of the cells, gusty wind, possibility of small hail. but the key here is, guys, everything that comes through looks pretty scattered. this isn't widespread wash out by any stretch. but even as early as overnight, notice this time stamp 3:00 a.m., north of philadelphia, we may see some pockets of rain or showers or even rumble every thunder, and that could even linger into the early morning commuters, maybe if you are traveling east toward new york city on 78, something like. that will further to the south though in fill at this looks like yes, maybe late morning shower, generally the afternoon, that things will hole off from philly on south, and then we start to see these

pockets bubble up. these little cells, the ones we have to keep close watch on, those are the ones if you have enough daylight to work with could turn strong maybe severe. have to keep an eye through the second half of the day, about the time the kids are getting out of school, until about the time the polls would be starting to wrap up. the election here, tomorrow evening. then, skies start to clear out later on that night. so i would say again afternoon, early evening the window for the worse of the wet weather to come in, really at this point, only talking about couple of tents of an inch even with the heaviest pockets of rain coming through because it will be somewhat scattered. your eyewitness weather health report, not ideal, air quality little less than ideal. we have got it up to moderate range for any air pollution, pollen levels are still hi, what else is new, and uv index is up, simply, because the sun angle gets stronger and stronger, again tomorrow, looks kind of active with showers, storms, then thursday is the next shot for more showers in our area. >> all right, i'll take it. >> thanks so much, katie, appreciate it. great day yesterday for a duck
