drive by and take a good look at this home. it is hard to believe what happened inside. yesterday we have learned that three of the victims are young children, and investigators say that they believe this is a murder/suicide and it happened around 3:00 yesterday here at winding brooke drive-in sinking spring. this is in the brookfield manor development, just a few miles from reading, and berks county district attorney identified the five victims as mark, megan short with their three children lee ann, mark and willow, two years ago their youngest daughter, willow, had a heart transplant at just six days old and every day since then she required daily doses of very expensive medication to make sure that her body did not reject that new heart. a blog post megan short had written about struggles with ptsd and caring for a child with the congenital heart defect and many people are familiar with this family, family had described their struggle, in getting that medication, for willow, but at this point, the d.a.'s office says it is in the clear who

pulled that trigger and what the motive is. live from berks county, anita oh for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". thank you, we a rebater it. we are also following breaking news, oscar pistorius has been treated for injuries at a south african hospital. there is no word on what those injuries consist of but pistorius told doctors he suffered those injuries after falling out of bed, one time olympic runner is in jail, where he is serving a six year sentence for killing his girlfriend, reeva steenkamp. right now police are investigating a a fatal gas station shooting, this happened, in the 6600 block of essington avenue earlier this morning. police arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. he had been filling up a motorcycle gas. man was pronounced dead just after 2:00 a.m. no one has been arrested yet. another homicide investigation is underway this one in north philadelphia, a man was shot last night, on the the 1700 block of jefferson street. the three three-year old man

was shot in the head, chest, torso and arm. he died at hahnemann university hospital about an hour later. police have not made any arrests nor have they recovered a weapon. right not a man is in extremely critical condition after being shot this morning. it happened at front and callowhill street just north of olde city around 4:00 this morning. police say ate appears have to have happened during an attempted robbery. police have have have not made any arrests there. dozens of concert go hours were hurt during the snoop dogg concert are out of the hospital this morning. that is after a rail at the bb and t pavilion gave way. cell phone video a 3-foot rail designed to keep people safe gave way. sending dozens crashing to the ground. >> it was traumatic. i dueled not sleep thinking of the people that got hurt. there was blood on my arms. it was really gross. >> reporter: in all 42 people were hurt. officials called the injuries minor but witnesses described the scene covered in blood and open wound. >> i saw one, one guy who was pushing his face on all of this part of the rail and it was opened. >> my friend's foot got stuck under the gate and i was trying to get him out the and i was trying to get this other girl out and when i was pulling her out the bone in her knee was sticking out of it. >> reporter: live nation, which operates bb and t pavilion says it is working with authorities and structural engineers to determine the cause of the collapse. after securing the railing section the venue opened up its doors to long lines for the eye love the 90's concert saturday night. people attending the concert

expressed concern for the victim but they say they are in the worried about another accident. >> we're old. we stay in our seats. we don't lean on the railings. we should be all right. >> we will be safe. >> i'm's sure they took care of things. it should go fun and good time. >> reporter: everyone hurt is out of the hospital and meanwhile wiz khalifa one of the performers tweeted out on his account that he hopes everyone is okay. in camden i'm trang do for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a fire at a popular montgomery county pub didn't slow down business. the fire at da vinchi's pub in collegeville started outside the restaurant yesterday afternoon. the flames traveled up a a pole and damage part of the roof. employees put that fire out with buckets. >> it started as a mulch fire in the mulch and plant bed and climbed up a pole, and got in the roof line, actually got up in the void space there was two layers of roof. got in the middle of the void space and burned in that area for a little bit. >> the restaurant had only minor cosmetic damage. fire fighters suffered

minor injuries battling a fire on the roof of the commercial building in camden county. it happened yesterday afternoon on 800 block of hilton road in pennsauken. fire officials say the flames start add monk roofing material. pennsauken fire chief says most difficult thing about fighting this fire was that weather. >> it is just making it more difficult than the normal fire but as long as we rotate people through and we have our rehab unit here thanks to the fire department we have mutual partners that makes it easier. >> fire was under control in a half an hour. the trial for pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane begins tomorrow with jury selection. last week the pennsylvania supreme court rejected a request from her defense team to dismiss charges against her. kane is accused of leaking grand jury information in retaliation for leaks about her. she's charged with perjury and obstruction among other counts. jury selection begins tomorrow morning in norristown. a new washington post poll

and killing an 18 year-old suspect. the video, seen here, was taken on july 28th, chicago police superintendent eddie johnson acknowledged that members of the community have the right to be upset about what they saw in the video. he also emphasized that being a police officer was quote a difficult job. >> it is not easy to make a split second decision that might ultimately cost someone their lives, you know, it is just a difficult job and if you have never done it, i can assure you it is not an easy thing to do. >> all three officers involved have been relieved of their police powers, superintendent johnson emphasizes that an investigation will take all facts into consideration. some of the north philadelphia's best basketball players showed off their skills in the the name of stopping gun violence. cecil b. moore recreation center in strawberry mansion hosted shoot hows not guns basketball tournament. this featured teams of all ages, trove writes handed out to the champs.

that cause the virus which is linked to birth defects. zika virus is, spread ago cross latin america and caribbean and has arrived in the united states through infected mosquitoes. just recently for the first time. health officials have now identified 15 patients with the probable 16th in southern florida. so what precautions can you take from getting the virus. family physician there rob danoff joins us this morning with some more answers to our questions. so doctor, thank you for being with us. >> good morning. >> hi. >> what are some of the most common symptoms that should alert to you possibly having zika. >> so four out of five people who get this infection have no symptoms at all but for those that do it is usually mild but there is a rash that starts on the face and then low grade fever, muscle aches, joint aches and red eyes conjunctivitis. those are main symptoms. for people not pregnant or trying to get pregnant normally it is a mild illness for the most part. >> so four out of five.

>> no symptoms at all. >> so for that 20 percent in there looking for potential, i feel like it has been summed up almost like flu like symptoms, fair assessment. >> that is exactly what it is. they are looking at this rare neurologic complicating rare complication they don't necessity if that happens weeks or months later. they don't know. that but they are looking at it. but for most it is more mild illness. the big concern is for woman who are pregnant and potential birth complications of their unborn child. >> so at this point with the concern about zika being what it is, that is the primary concern, that we are honing in on is the complications. >> it is called microcephaly a neurologic defect and the brain is smaller, it can lead to hearing problems, learning problems, vision problems and even children been in normal sized head they are concerned some of these complications may occur such as hearing and visual problems.

it has been estimated between one and 13 percent of woman who acquire zika while pregnant may have a child with these birth defects and that is what the latest date ace showing. the that is why the big concern right now and really rush to develop a vaccine if we can prevent it from occurring, that would then decrease risk of birth defects. >> one of the bigger questions and i know you are on the front lines of these conversations, so i'm traveling to the caribbean. i'm newly married or thinking about getting pregnant. as a physician what is doctor rob, the best advise to people who find themselves, in that leave predicament where they have to travel or they need to travel and yet they are looking to start families. >> well, that is really important. what we're advising people and cdc most importantly is that if you are trying to get pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant, both the male partner and the female try to avoid those areas where is there active infections of zika. the reason being because if

you acquire it there is a risk of a birth defect. this is the latest recommendations. if you happen to travel to an area with zika and you want to get pregnant, well, if you do not have symptoms you need to come back and wait eight weeks at least before trying. if one of you would have symptoms if it is female you have to wait at least eight weeks. if the male has symptoms they said don't try to get your partner pregnant for at least six months. >> last question, the measure being taken to rid mosquito, mosquito control. >> it is great. cdc has an emergency response team. in other place can they track it like they are doing right now. there is a health plan in florida that is calling patients between ages of 19 and 45 who are potentially have children tracking them giving them free zika tests. cdc is monitoring the situation. we have good access to repellants and best ones have

nice start to the morning. the that is the trend for the next 48 or 72 hours. temperatures still not pad. slow liz warming up. mid 70's. in philadelphia near 70 in allentown. earlier suburbs were down in the 50's. wind, notice arrows out of the north on northwesterly direction. refreshing breeze. ocean city, stone harbor close to 80. rehoboth beach, delaware. our key forecast, feature here is wind direction today, again, northwest, that dryer wind flow so that knocks humidity out. still tomorrow we will have a more nor'easter liz breeze keeping humidity levels on the low side but come tuesday, win direction starts to switch more out of the east and south east and that brings back some moisture in the form of humidity and humidity levels will crank up in the second half of the upcoming week. so how does it the feel today? really not bad right now. we will call it pleasant later this afternoon. dew points should drop a little bit more in the afternoon hours today, and then tomorrow, still feeling

really nice, tuesday, it is slow increase in humidity. we will call it steamy but in the bad for early august and then wednesday we will start to feel oppressive again and that trend continues in the upcoming weekend. quiet the up and down the coastline to the northeast. dominated by high pressure. storm scan three will look like that for the next few days. here's that forecast, it will be warm. 86 degrees. low humidity. uv index high. rip current risk much lower, northwesterly wind kicks up at zero to 15 miles an hour. cold front off shore, that pushed out humidity replaced by high pressure that blocks storms from developing today. monday and then tuesday the high starts to move off shore, maybe some showers, try to get into extreme southern delaware, later on tuesday but that rain stays to the south and west. we will warm up, today, upper 80's for the warm spots. maybe close to 90-degree, as well away from the water and then tonight it is still pleasant. we will see 50's again in the cooler suburbs and then mainly north and west of the city, possibly interior south jersey

a great finish. yesterday, a lot of heat and humidity fueled showers and storms. kind of the opposite today. the it will be warm but we have no humidity and nothing but clear skies, throughout our region. we are up to 75 at the airport. near 70 in the lehigh valley. so a great day, to hit musikfest in bethlehem. no threat for storms today. suburbs, starting to warm up. we were in the 50's earlier this quakertown and now up to 72 degrees. still in the upper 60's pottstown and willow grove and that comfort level is pretty good right now, that dew point temperature which i show all the time. when you are around 60 that is threshold between humid and not humid conditions. we are right on the line there. the these dew points will drop in the 50's this afternoon. we will call it pleasant today and tomorrow. and then part of the reason is wind direction out of the northwest then 10 miles an hour. cooler dryer flow filtering in the delaware valley. enjoy clear and comfortable this morning. temperatures in the 60's and to the 70's. the then this afternoon we will warm up, well in the 80's, a couple of degrees

"eyewitness news" reporter anita oh is live from the scene this morning and tell us what investigators to have say about this horrific crime, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, joe. i can tell you this is a very quiet, calm neighborhood. nothing seems out of place. two cars still sitting in the driveway but investigators made a gruesome discovery yesterday, five people, shot dead, inside, three of them, young children and they are calling this a murder/suicide. investigators found the bodies of those five victims inside

>> thank to you that are live report. a man is in the hospital after being shot while inside his car and his two young children were with him at the time it happened. this one coming from the 5500 block of spring street at 12:30 this morning. a a man was parking his car when he was hit outside his home. two children were not hit though. he was taken to the hospital in critical condition. there is no word on a motive or possible arrests. police hope these surveillance photos will help them catch someone who stole a rare snake from a montgomery county store. it happened around 4:30 saturday afternoon at natural pet in east norriton. police say man what the black shoulder bag walked in the store, cut the lock and removed the snake from the enclosure. he then placed it into his bag and then left. if you have any information you you are asked to call police. this morning police say they have a special detention center for three people who robbed a restaurant. police released this surveillance video of the crime just a few hours ago.

it happened yesterday morning around 6:00. investigators say three people wearing school backpacks, broke into the off the hook in the 600 block of baltimore avenue. they allegedly broke an expensive window and took several things. police did not elaborate on what. anyone with any information is calling east lansdowne police at (610)259-2308. septa a tries to get operation back to normal were on going repairs to the silver line's train cars officials are announcing more schedule changes. starting tomorrow five lines will operate on adjusted schedules, they will affect lansdale doylestown, trenton, manayunk, norristown and warminster glenside combined lines. some are getting additional leased train cars. cracks in the silver line's equalizer beams forced a a third of the fleet out of service more than a month ago. for a list of the schedule changes and update head to our web site at cbs philly.com:

republican presidential nom behind me donald trump is criticizing hillary clinton's over her remarks that she short circuited. trump took to twit tore lash out at clinton in one tweet he says, and i quote, anybody whose mind short circuit is not fit to be our president. look up the word brain washed, end quote. clinton made remark during interview on "fox news" sunday. she was asked about her previous assertions that she never received any information, that was classified, at the time. clinton said fbi director james comey backed up those claims. she later told reporters that she short circuited when discussing the subject during the interview. a legal defeat for third party presidential candidates gary johnson and jill stein. judge dismissed lawsuit from the libertarian and green party nominees against the presidential debate commission. they were trying to overturn a rule to require a candidate to poll at least 15 percent to participate in the debate. johnson is polling at
