every center city, ahead of trump's arrival. good afternoon, i'm jim donovan. brooke is off this noon. trump is making his case for expanded military and is explaining how to pay for it. trump says one of his first acts if-ee elected president would be to eliminate the see questions err on defense spending. according to his campaign, the plan would free up money for ships, planes, submarines, and a new sea based missile defense system also within 30 days of taking office, trump says, he'll ask us generals to smith plan to defeat isis. >> as i laid out in my speech, on defeating radical islamic terrorism >> against communism during

palpable. ease advice advice take effect tomorrowment that's where we turn our focus at least to start off to gave you a idea here, specific to the metro area really. i95, the immediate vicinity here, starts noon tomorrow, so as we're going on the air with you on "eyewitness news" at noon tomorrow, that's when this takes effect. and, again, it will last only until 6:00 p.m. now that the solar angle isn't quite as strong it, won't necessarily have to last much later than that, but, regardless, facing a warming trend here, that's going to take us into the 90's for the next couple of days, also, heat index values could soar, too, or even just above 90 degrees. more on that later in the show. for now, storm scan generally quiet. you can still see what's left of hermine. still out to sea but thankfully not really causing any major headaches at this point. into the 80s, almost across the board here, and expecting to tack few additional degrees on to the daytime high today, partly to mostly sunny skies, depending where you are, you may have bit after breeze, i would say the bigger story though is that it is starting to feel more and more humid. that will continue to be a running theme for us, in the days ahead.

the day, especially by night fall, on saturday, and this is still a question mark, because the way this front may end up in the pattern, it could bypass us, so keep ion that, still a chance. but the next couple of days we at least flirt with or tie a record. again friday, the day that we expect to tie at least a very long standing record. it was set all the way back in 1884. but, we're on pace to at least come close to that when it comes to the heat indexes if not exceed. that will as you take a look at the heat index through the day tomorrow, already at 11:00 a.m. it, may feel like it is flirting with 100 in dover. so really really hot air taking place, we are going to feel like it is into the 90's in the city by noontime, then much of the region feels like triple digits by the end of the afternoon. so, you got to keep that in mind when walking out the door. you may also, you know, want to have the air conditioner cranked. outside to palmyra cove nature park, some clouds, overlooking center city in the distance. eighty-six. quick check on the seven day
