guys, this week, but interstate 95 cannot get a break. that's what we're seeing this morning from the delaware state line. i'll get to that in just a moment. but leave your homes earl. >> i only the most major artery we have in the area. >> i know. >> tough to hear that. we actually have couple of problems in the weather department, few damp roads here and, there more of nuisance thanks anything, but you supply to flick the windshield wipers once, twice, most notably across southern new jersey actually at this point, looking at three hour loop, last couple of hours have been couple of showers rolling into our area. i certainly was one of those folks that had to flick the windshield wipers but again just light, very, very light rain, here and there, not everyone getting hit. bye we called for. that will we expect it will sort of be the story really any time here today, spotty shower, even rumble every thunder at some point. giles, it is steamy outside. if you have yet to walk out the door, just about ready to walk out, give the dog a walk, expect coming out from the air-conditioning it will be one of those situations where your hands just get clammy immediately. you know what i am talking

about? moisture wrapped air mass here, it feels so steamy, currently in the low 80s in philly but actually feels like it is flirting with 90 already. now, as the day progresses, with that heat, humidity, still baking up here at the surface, we expect to hit 93, that's awfully close, to the daily record. and it may feel as hot at 103, 104, and the bottom line, yes, you have bad enough temperatures on thermometer, but my advice is that you just tack 10 degrees on, that's how it will feel. now, coming up: there is another shot for us to see some wet weather in the forecast here. so we are going to be tracking another more potent cold front, another higher risk to tomorrow, specially, so we track that for you later in the show, meantime we also talk about the heat advisory in effect until 6:00 tonight, meisha. >> yikes. thank you. looking outside, speaking of yikes, delaware state line around 95 southbound, so, we've got live chopper three over us right now showing you some of the backups. you can see how many crews are out there, as well. and i can let you know, so if

95 south before delaware state line moving in the southbound direction, it is hard to say there is but the good news is northbound side, was also affected all lanes blocked there. now, it is just southbound side. one lane is getting by, but, barely, and because not to mention the fact that we may have one lane getting by but also a lot of gaper delays, people driving past that accident, putting on the breaks, taking a peak at what's going on, and that's really slowing us down, and we've been covering this all morning long, so a will the of people heeding our warning, getting out there little early but even though getting out there early you're running into all of the people that are thinking the exact same thing. again intermittent lane closures, on the superintendent bound side, now northbound clear, this is your back upshot. you can see just a sea of taillights moving up to where that accident is. northbound side, looking a lot better than what it was a half hour ago. northbound side looking good, it is just really interstate southbound, yikes, you guys, disable vehicle, we have it here, schuylkill eastbound, at 30th street. pulled all the way off to the

down a one way street. it has ended this morning, police say, with a woman who is lucky she didn't kill herself and police officers after all they say she tried to run down a police officer and then led them on 2-mile chase, through several philadelphia neighborhoods. >> he tried to run my partner down. and he was going the wrong way on e street, southbound e street. >> frantic moments in kensington, captured on police radioment investigators say woman in stolen vehicle drove at police, into -- until an officer was forced to open fire. >> the vehicle behind me, again, the operator of the cherokee came toward the officer. the officer discharged his weapon one time. >> all started around 9:30, at e and clearfield streets. police were just wrapping up a traffic stop when they spot add woman in her 30's, traveling the wrong way on clearfield. the officers shot, shattered the windshield. but even that didn't stop the driver. injured, we are told, she kept going. wrong way on e street, another

one way street, police say she was driving the vehicle, reported stolen just yesterday. >> we know the vehicle is stolen. that's at least one reason that we know. don't know if she was in a status, but we know this vehicle was stolen today. so we know for sure that's at least one of the reasons why she allude dollars police. >> but after a 2-mile chase, police eventually caught up to the suspect in port richmond. this was the scene overnight, at ann and richmond streets. the suspect's suv on two wreath, pinned by philly police cruiser. police say the woman was arrested, and taken to temple for treatment of the injured hand, but they say, everyone, the suspect, police and neighbors, there, are all extremely lucky this morning. >> lucky that the officers that were in that vehicle aren't injured, as well as very lucky that that lady driving that is not more severely injured, as well. now, police have not yet released much information about the woman who was injured, and arrested, only saying she was taken to temple for treatment. it is unclear at this time whether she was hit by gunfire

or that injury to her hand was a result of the accident. we are expecting more information from police, a little later this morning, about that woman and her background. of course, we'll keep you up-to-date. for now live outside police headquarters, jan carabeo, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you so much. meanwhile new this morning, three people are in the hospital after a shooting in the city's hunting park section. now, police tell us, all three victims were riding their bikes, near fifth and erie, when they were shot. the 17 year old boy was shot in the back. his 18 year old friends was shot in the leg. a 44 year old man was also shot in the back. all are in stable condition. well, pennsylvania has it first case of the zika virus, transmitted through sex. the department of health says the patient had sex with their partner, who had rose endly traveled to an area where zika transmission is occurring. officials are recommending that residents who have traveled to zika affected areas practice safe sex. zika is a mosquito born illness that's been linked to

birth defect, including microcephaly, causes newborns to be born with smaller than normal heads. >> well, now to campaign 2016. president obama will campaign for hillary clinton tuesday afternoon on eakin's oval in philadelphia. pennsylvania is a battlegrounds state, and the latest quinnipiac university poll has clinton leading republican candidate donald trump 48 to 43%. now, clinton held her first formal press conference, in 278 days, yesterday. she criticized trump for his praise of russia's president. trump is standing by his remarks, and calls clinton, quote, trigger happy for voting to go to war in iraq. >> what would you do if you were elected about aleppo? >> about aleppo? and what is aleppo? >> you're kidding. >> no. >> libate tear yan candidate larry johnson said he blanked on that question yesterday morning.

>> the faa is warning trap letters don't use your samsung galaxy note seven phones on planes. >> it can be pretty frightening in what's been happening here there. have apparently been numerous report of the galaxy note seven phones, catching fire. last week, samsung stopped selling the phones, and recalled more than 2 million of them in ten countries. and now the faa doesn't want passengers to turn on or charge the note seven phones, while they're on board planes, or leave them in checked baggage for fears that it could ultimately catch fire. >> well, a florida man says he found out about the samsung recall the hard way.

he was charging his note seven in the center console of his jeep grand cherokee when the phone exploded. and the jeep went up in flames. thankfully, his entire family had just gotten out of the jeep. very dangerous. >> my goodness. >> dangerous, that heat advisory remains in effect today, not good for the elderly, people that that have issues with this. >> absolutely, you said it, jim. you got to keep in mind, we are vulnerable to the heat unless taking proper precaution. we can absolutely get through this. not like we've ever seen days like this, but you do need to be smart about it, certainly never leave your kids or pets in the vehicles, even for minute, because it takes such a little time for it to become a virtual off never your car, with the windows closed in this casino every heat and the sunshine we'll seement couple of showers have been rolling through our area, scat nerds nature, leaving behind couple of damp roads, sign of things to come, next cold front, see squawl lines setting up here, some heavy thunderstorms in the central planes, eventually though this cold front will sweep past us, here, and we end up with some much drier

air that settles in. but it will take us another day and a half before we get there. so meantime, it is, i'm telling you, this is good word for it, insufferable, dew point into the 70s, will feel close to insufferable today through the rest of the day and tomorrow as well before the cold front passes. pretty obvious when it happens, isn't it? by sunday starting to see the dew points drop off. monday foles just lick really literal breath of fresh air. but meantime, mentioned the heat advisory, posted for the majority of the region, central corridor most specifically all of the state of delaware for heat indexes that spike as high as 103 today. so list -- basically packing on 10 degrees. drink water, take it easy do, all of the common sense things, that we always talk about, and you'll be just fine. but again, we stress, it will be pretty toasty and very difficult to handle kind of day if you're stuck out in this, landscaper, construction worker, you need to take frequent breaks. showers, thunderstorms at the shore, good place to be to beat the heat. rip current finally low again,

temperatures aren't as oppressive. don't have heat advisory in all of the resort towns at the shore or mountains. regardless here ' where we stand in the city. ninety-three today, 94 tomorrow, then starting to cool it back down toward seasonable next week. >> all right, katie, thank you. good morning, everyone, happy friday. live chopper three, over an accident, now, the accident, 95 south before delaware state line. it was overturned box truck and vehicle, minor injuries, but you can see the backups on the southbound side are still pretty substantial. if you have been with us all morning long, northbound side also affected. now it is just the southbound side. take a look at the backups, like i said, only one lane is getting by for a minute there, i thought that maybe tension starting ease on the southbound side. more that time goes on, more vehicles are hitting roadways, still having some issues, not to mention as the travelers get more closer to where the accident is, and they start to see the crews, start to get that gaper delay it we just can't escape either. so just a heads up.

take a look at this back up. this back up is near route 452. it is hard to imagine there is one lane open when we've got that kind of slow downs. just make note of. that will we also have an accident in new jersey, truck hit guardrail. you guys, so a lot going on this morning, if i were you, especially if you are headed out to interstate 95, you most certainly want to give yourselves some extra time this morning, and on 295 northbound there, as well, also want to give yourselves extra time there. >> well, not only is it the first eagles game of the season, this sunday, it is also meisha's first time oh, boy, working the wip radio tailgate down at the linc. >> oh, fun, guys, this will be so much fun. so yesterday you may have been listening to our sister radio station 94wip, my buddy angelo cataldi tried to warn me about this sunday. >> meisha, you're going to get cat calls. you're going to get whistled, you're going to get

chip kelly was fired few days later, and the birds fateful hoping that doug pederson will eventually give them reason to celebrate. the fans celebrated last night, the annual countdown to kick off. eagles cheerleaders, players, and alumni were at x fin at this live in south philly, as of right now the eagles sit with 100 to one odds to win the superbowl. but there is reason for excitement with a new quarterback and revamped defense. speaking of, the eagles were putting the finishing touches on their plan ahead of the game against the browns on sunday. they'll look to get carson went on track early, and look to make life hectic for rgiii, the new browns quarterback. as for game day here is your schedule. at 11:30, toyota sunday kickoff, followed by the nfl today at noon, at 1:00 it all begins the browns and the eagles kick off, and following a win, hopefully, we'll have the cure auto insurance postgame show, all of the fun, all of the madness, of eagles football, right here on cbs-3.

now, over time it, will ease tension little bit. but also working toward our main hour of the rush hour. so, it is going slow you down that way little bit. know it started off busy. will continue bus any this area. but better than it was. and you know what? we'll take it. good news. >> accident in new jersey 295 northbound at florence-columbus, left lane is block. make note of that. and then another accident on the northeast extension northbound, this is past mid-county, right lane block, so those of in you and around that area, some fun news, but that is also going to impact your travel later this evening, friday concerts, 8:00 p.m., bruce springsteen, 7:30, citizens bank park, parking lots will open at 2:00 p.m. and of course, there is a broad street line. a lot going on there. know, slow down on the schuylkill and on 95, jim, over to you. >> thank you very much, meisha a well, philadelphia police officers find themselves in a dangerous situation, and there this morning, and lucky no one was hurt t involved a wild case that ended in a crash. the frantic months, could be heard, on police radio.

dorman was responding to a call about drug activity. when he was shot seven times. authorities say the suspect, dante brooks, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related offenses. >> also now, atlantic city police officer shot in the line of duty last saturday is getting better. officer josh lee was wounded while pursuing three robbery suspect. the police department hosed on their facebook page that doctors have removed officer from a breathing machine. and he is now sitting up, and talking. two cumberland county men facing charges in connection with the officer's shooting. a third suspect, was fatally shot by police. >> well, wells fargo is facing a massive fine after the feds say it workers ripped customers off. and if you're among them, you could be getting some money soon. regulators say the employees created about 2 million bank and credit card accounts on behalf of customers, but those customers didn't know anything about it.
