donovan. >> i'm brooke thomas. charlotte police chief says he plans to show video of the shooting to the slain man's family, won't release it to the public just yet. correspondent kenneth craig has the latest developments. protests spiraled into violence for the second straight night in charlotte. vandals smashed windows and looted businesses. one person in the crowd was shot. he's now in critical condition. police use tear gas and use splash grenades as officers try to clear the streets, at least four officers were also hurt. >> we made total of 44 arrests, charges range from to disperse, to assault, to breaking and entering. >> violence prompted several major companies in downtown charlotte including bank of america, and wells fargo, to tell their employees to stay home for the day, and avoid the area. >> the unrest follows the

deadly police shooting tuesday of 43 year old keith lamont scott. police say scott had a gun, but witnesses say he was holding a book. >> he had his hands up, and the book fell off his lap. >> a file at wb tv a picture that may show a gun near the victim's seat. officials haven't released police video of the shooting. >> while it is an active investigation, we don't want to release pieces of evidence that don't make a full picture. >> but protesters are demanding it be released to help put to rest the controversy that has turned the city upside down. kenneth craig, for cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> also, this noon, federal prosecutors now say ahmad khan rahami detonated explosive device on his family's property, two days before it allegedly caring out the new york and new jersey bombings. video taken of the cyst pocket's elizabeth new jersey home, shows charred spot in the backyards, investigators say they're still wait to go speak with him, rahami remains

hospitalized after getting into a shoot-out with police on monday. >> in other news, the fbi is still looking for the two men seen in this surveillance photo. authority say the men found suitcase containing a pressure cooker bomb, that didn't explode in chelsea on saturday night. now, three moved the device, but walked away with a bag. the men are not considered suspect, just witnesses, and investigators say they want the suitcase back for evidence. >> police say checking surveillance video that gives new meaning to the term smash and grab. take a look at this. investigators say this large truck is being used as a battering ram as men attempt to break into a northeast philadelphia public storage unit. they did make it inside. "eyewitness news" reporter anita oh, is live on grant avenue with what happened next. anita? >> reporter: well, brooke, it was a brazen burglary, and exactly a week after this crime, you can see, that the crime doors of public storage are still boarded up. they've had to spray paint a sign that says yes, we're open. but that was not the case

overnight on september 15th, when two men drove an u-haul straight into the front doors and it was all caught on camera. take a look at the surveillance video now it, shows around 1:30 in the morning, an u-haul repeatedly rams into the front doors of the business until all of the glass shatters. once clear, another suspect runs inside, straight to the safe, and also empties out several drawers, putting some items into his pocket. the man then rushes back to the truck with the safe. they drive off in a unknown direction. it is unclear how much money he took, but all of this happened in a matter of minutes. we spoke with one man who has been renting a unit here for two years, and he came today to check on his belongings. >> i was outraged. i mean, i was like, of course, never anything like this happening, especially on this area, this location, this location is a very nice, you know, nice safe area, something like this was going to happen? >> reporter: luckily none of

his belongings are missing, police say they're looking for white man in his early 30's with long brown hair, wearing an orange shirt, tan pants, baseball cap. while the police don't have a description of the driver of that u-haul, they would like to question him, as well. so anyone with information should call northeast detectives. live in northeast philadelphia, anita oh, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you very much, anita. meanwhile truck driver had very close call this morning, when the cab of his propane truck burst into flames. "eyewitness news" viewer sent this picture of the truck, as the cab burned around 8:30 this morning, near 40-foot road, allentown road in towamenson montgomery county. another viewer provided us with cell phone video showing how close the propane truck was to home. several homes and businesses were evacuated for short time including a day care, now, none of the propane tanks on the truck, fortunately, caught fire, and there were no injuries. >> police say one man in temple hospital's burn unit after apparent arson attempt targeting a car in north

philadelphia. this is periscope video obtained by "eyewitness news". investigators say, it shows the huge flames immediately after the car was engulfed on the 2300 block of cleveland street. the car was destroyed by the flames and windows across the street were blown out. neighbors say the blast knocked them out of bed. >> it was a car on fire. firetrucks had just gotten there. the whole car was on fire. what we kept hearing was boom, boom, boom. >> like pop, pop, pop. it made me get up. >> when we came outside the car was on fire, and just started exploding annex providing. >> no word so far on the victim's condition. police have made no arrests. >> police in delaware county and philadelphia are on the trail of a killer and they believe the victim new her attacker. a 32 year old woman was found dead outside a home on the 600 block of bailey road in yeadon just after 3:00 this morning. police followed a trail of blood from the scene all the way to southwest philadelphia. and they found what they say could be the murder weapon in a sewer near 61st and

look at the temperatures. hey, katy? >> guys, that's it. wondering okay, fall is officially here, it is meteorological fall, it is astronomical fall now. and where are these cool temperatures that we've been hoping for? maybe you haven't been hoping for them, but expecting them at least. not here just yet but on the way. you mentioned it, autumnal equinox has since taken effect. showing you more of the details, happened 10:21 on the knows this morning, and now again it is made official, fall is here. we are seeing temperatures still well above average already into the 80s up and down i-95, mid or even upper 70s across many of the outlying suburbs, wildwood flight g with 80. so mild beginning to the afternoon, and since just getting the afternoon started we expect nothing but sunshine the rest of the day. have no problem, reaking out a well above average daytime high here. 86 degrees, might as well be july. the average high is 76 on this day of the year. obviously very far away from the record, last set way back

whenever it comes to weather specially something like this. it will be at least until mid to late october before we really start see any signs of those colors really popping in the trees here in our area, but regardless, only couple of weeks away, so only at this point starting to see a little bit of color popping even in new england. it will take a bit of time. that said, we go nicks to storm scan3, still at this point pretty quiet locally high pressure hanging on for yet another day eventually cold front will be passing through the area, that comes tomorrow night. don't wore bit moisture you see off across the southern delmarva, virginia, south carolina, responsible for flooding rain across the area, no problem for us we maintain high pressure today and tomorrow before this cold front comes along, again tomorrow night is when it crosses, bridges with it very limited moisture, you might see a shower in the northern most counties, that would be it then come saturday we start to cool down, upper saturday's saturday, lower 70s sunday. starts to feel like crisp fall
