joe holden is live in yeadon with more, joe. report. >> reporter: report police tell us they are hot on this man's trail. now as for natasha gibson i spoke to people who knew her well. they did not wanting to on camera but they described a mom, who they often chatted with at the bus stop and now police tell me they are confident that they will make an arrest shortly. >> he is a dangerous suspect without a doubt. >> reporter: he is march epps from the 1300 block of marco street in west philadelphia police labeled him a person of interest in the vicious killing of the natasha gibson. her body was found outside of a family friend's home early thursday morning. police say she had been brutally beaten and her throat was slash. investigators immediately began tracking down clues. >> we were able to track a blood trail from the crime scene of church lane in yeadon. >> reporter: that trail went on for a couple of miles into southwest philadelphia a long the way they recovered natasha

gibson's purse. it was on the roof of the warehouse. at alleged murder weapon a bloody stake knife was located in the sewer. trail ended where it is believed mark epps caught a ride on public transportation. police say natasha and mark were a couple at one time. they tell us she broke it off and for last month epps was making some serious threats through phone calls and text messages. yeadon police chief don, quoting messages. >> i'm going to kill you. one point he had a hammer and he was going to go after her. >> reporter: police say epps is dangerous. records show from 2013 until last year he was in prison. the chief tells me a team of investigators is working to find him. >> we have recovered what we believed the murder weapon is. we have recovered the victim's property and at this point, we are looking for this individual to question him. >> reporter: eighth on investigators are trying to track down a ways ball bat

that they believe was used in the commission of this homicide. now i spoke to two detectives who got into their cars just about 30 minutes ago, tracking down a possible lead in the case, of course, stay with cbs-3 for very latest on this developing story. we are live in yeadon, joe holden for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> joe, thank you. meanwhile two pedestrians are struck on route 422 in limerick, montgomery county. chopper three over lynn field road. you can see several vehicles were damaged in this. a drone in the area actually delayed a medical helicopter from landing near the scene, police are now searching for owner of that drone. there may have been a dog loose in that area at the time of those pedestrians were struck. there is no word on the condition of the victims. we do know eastbound 422 is at area remains closed to traffic. police say a driver who was under the influence is in custody in connection with the hit and run in north philadelphia "eyewitness news" at second anal gain any fair hill, around 11:20 this morning a car there struck

now and take a peak at palmyra cove nature park, one thing we are seeing these days is getting these days shorter. we are seeing a few hints of sunset in the skies here just after 6:00 o'clock, sunsetting a little bit earlier every night. we are losing two and a half minutes of daylight every day. 81 degrees at palmyra cove nature park across the river in new jersey. the here's storm scan three. there is a few different features here. one is system bringing showers and clouds, really to the shower and delaware but especially to southern you virginia and north carolina this week. that system is fizzling. in the middle we have dry air, we felt dew point drop quite a bit but then we have this front, scattered showers over portions of the great lakes states. that will slide south during the day tomorrow and that is going to bring the cool air in. jet stream is off to the north right now, we're in this nice warm bubble, above average but still feels good. heading in to saturday that is when we will start to feel that push of cool air. you can see cool up across new

england, start to feel cool air moving through the day saturday but really sunday that has established quite the a foot hold. not here forever though you can see another ridge in the jet stream back to the west and temperatures will rise through middle of next week but for weekend at least below average temperatures and that will last right into monday. so future weather shows clear skies through tonight maybe a couple cloud down the shore, tomorrow evening, is when that front will come through but good news is it is coming through generally dry. 7:00 p.m. a stray sure to the north and west otherwise front comes through tomorrow night and everything is quiet. tonight it is thursday night foot paul and of course not here but as you head up toward new england another mild night 68 degrees if you are watching the game here on cbs-3. offer night mainly clear, mild in philadelphia, 65 degrees, your friday sunny hot and more humid down the shore we are at 78, pretty nice shore weekend just a bit on the cooler side with temperatures in the 70's and for the eagles game what a perfect foot the ball day 67 at kick off.
