there guys. michelle obama the first lady of the united states expected to get on stage any second. in fact we're told she is in the building here at lasalle university and so are a about two or 3,000 people. in fact we just heard from the fire marshal. he is not allowing anyone else inside of this auditorium. now, of course, this is the second day we've seen a campaign stop for hillary clinton here in pennsylvania. yesterday vice-president joe biden arrived at drexel university in front of a much smaller crowd around 500 people. you can see here once again many more folks gathered here to hear the first lady speak. this is a very important stop for both parties. that's because this is a swing state, pennsylvania, that is, we've seen the candidates arrive here to pennsylvania, we've seen top surrogates arrive here in pennsylvania and that is because the latest polls show that there's only a point or two separation here in pennsylvania when it comes to voters and who they might be voting for. this campaign stop like that of
12:02 pm
joe biden's yesterday is supposed to be about voter registration. voter turnout here in our state and we'll get people registered and vote for either party, of course, both parties want more voters to vote for their candidates. we are expecting michelle obama to touch about that, touch about voter registration but we can expect her to talk little bit about the campaign itself. about the debate we saw on monday night. about hillary clinton's opponent donald trump. not sure what she'll say exactly, of course, the vice-president yesterday spoke a lot about donald trump and rea really his diss taken for him. we're also hearing of course from the republicans in all of this. the republican party of pennsylvania releasing this statement just a short while ago about michelle obama's campaign stop here at lasalle university. "democrats are clearly worried about hillary's chances in the ski stone state this november and with good reason. gleason is the chairman of the

already. this latest storm system will hang out for awhile too. i want to show you interesting video as people across phoenix, arizona, are still brushing off the dust from a recent had a boo. now a wall of dust and it stops residents in their tracks on tuesday. it was actually recorded as one of the largest -- look at that. unbelievable. >> i've driven through one before. >> craziness. blinding recorded as one of the largest dust storms of the summer and likely the last. this helicopter pilot estimated the dust cloud to be 4,000 feet high. to give you a frame of reference, that's basically four and change of liberty one place stacked on top of one another. that's how tall that was. so four sky scrapers and change on top of one another. craziness, right? unbelievable video for us out there. now, we are not concerning ourselves with dust storms necessarily, rather the rain on the way. it's more than anything i would call a very big nuisance for our region but we are going to see some pretty steady rain out of

this. especially through the western suburbs we think. take a look first and for most at storm scan nice wide zoom. we've had moisture building in from the south already. here's the actual storm, though, that starts to rotate in. this first batch of moisture wasn't over chief started little bit extra early with the wet weather across delaware and southern new jersey this is a storm that actually is going to move in and bring this prolonged stretch of rain that we're calling for and it's called a cut off low. very apt name because it gets cut off from the main flow of the jet stream. jet stream has two really important purposes to separate warm and cool air but to also steer storm systems and if you get an area of low pressure that breaks off from that pattern or that flow, all it can do is sit there and it needs something to should have it out of the way and that's why it will be sitting and spinning and look at this we're way up to saturday by this point, and it's still here. so what that means is that you're dealing with multiple days of additional rain even though the rain is all right getting under way right now it's going to hang on through the day tomorrow i would say through the
12:21 pm
day tomorrow when we see instead yesterday and heaviest of this rain by about the same time come friday we may already have almost an inch and a half worth of rain collected up through the western suburbs much notice again lighter amounts the further east you go. it really will depend where the heaviest rain bands decide to set themselves up regardless we're all in for wet weather starting now as it over spreads the region and through the day tomorrow, friday, as well as saturday possibly even sunday. before this finally gets out of here. now, switching gears completely and talking tropics matthew has now formed. so we've got tropical storm matthew out in the open water of the atlantic this is on par to basically -- on pace to cross through the lesser antilles. continue westward movement generally speaking. potentially gather enough strength to become a category two hurricane as it makes a right hand turn. now, as we continue to see that potential for right hand turn, you're automatically probably wondering okay do we have to worry about this? at this point, it is very far out.
12:22 pm
but notice what all the models tendon to do. take that right hand turn in the days ahead this is something that into next week we're definitely going to be keeping a very close watch on. no guarantees at this point but it's something to watch. meanwhile outside we go to palmyra cove nature park typically no problems seeing the center city skyline off in the distance very difficult to see it right now. the breeze starting to pick up more of an on shore flow helping to keep the clouds in place especially at the shore points. regardless we are expecting to see the temperatures stay into the mid or low 70s the next couple of days but the rain is the bigger story obviously. i'd say wettest time frame is any time from now through tomorrow friday more scattered showers but again it could happen any time so the umbrellas probably not the worst idea. >> we need the rain so. >> exactly the. it comes slowly enough we won't be dealing with major flooding issues. >> good. >> if you get tired standing in line this could be for you. nissan self propelling chair. it actually detects obstacles and moves people through lines on a predetermined path.
