from the flooding and some residents say they are stuck in either homes. on the north philadelphia campus of the temple university flags flapping in the wind, and, umbrellas, and basically more umbrellas. rain impact drivers, walkers and everybody else, outside today. the just a wet friday out there. so will it be a wet weekend? that is the question, good afternoon, i'm nicole brewer. jim and brooke are off this noon. lets look the at the forecast with meteorologist lauren casey and we have been seen a lot of green on that radar. >> absolutely today, yesterday as well over past 48 hours, of rain, steady at times, and heavier at times we are dealing with two kind of flooding, coastal from a persistent on shore flow and wind flow and because of the heavier rainfall we are seeing street and localized flooding across parts of the delaware, where a foot of rain has fallen across parts of the southern delaware. you cane win speed right now, wind out of the north east around 15 to 25 miles per hour, that is pushing that

our cleve bryan is live in wilmington at funeral services for lieutenant christopher leach, hi there, cleve. >> reporter: good afternoon, the services just begins, you can see people behind me are ones that could not fit inside saint elizabeth church. there are hundreds of people here, friend, family, collogues, saying good bye to lieutenant christopher leach. little hyle earlier, the viewing started about 10:00 o'clock. we saw that lieutenant leach casket lowered off of a fire truck, brought into the church, lieutenant leach and senior for fighter jerry fickes were both killed last saturday, during a house fire than lake view road this wilmington. there was a collapse, during the fire, lieutenant leach, fell down into the basement area, officials say, that the senior fire fighter jerry fickes died trying to save his friend. there was also two fire fighters that were badly injured, several others, with lesser injuries, and the

funeral services are private, we are not able to actually go inside but they did allow one camera which we will look at in a little while. we did speak with one of the close friend, and collogues of lieutenant. and, from that day that we met him, he is that kind of guy, he moved you and just want to be around him. >> he is lieutenant, that he is want to work for. >> chris is a prankster, we enjoyed, fire fighters, always enjoyed pranks and chris was one of the best at pranks. his nickname was danger so you didn't want to turn your back on him. it wasn't danger in the sense of danger you are scared of or afraid of him because you knew something was coming. wow get you, and then laughed together. >> reporter: live look inside the family is allowing a camera inside for to us document this funeral, there will be a public service memorial service, tomorrow, which is at the chase center,

for both lieutenant leach, and for senior fire fighter, jerry fickes. live from wilmington, i'm cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> so heart breaking cleve, thank you. senior fire fighters jerry fickes was remembered at a viewing. family and friend paid their respects at great lutheran church in hockessin. there will be a second fire fighter from two to 4:00 this have afternoon, a private funeral will follow. joint memorial services for both fire fighters is tomorrow, beginning at 1:00 o'clock at chase center on the wilmington river front. a delaware woman has been charge with setting a fire that killed the fire fighters, and injured the four others. that were in that fire. authorities say that 27 year-old beatrice ruiz was drunk and using anxiety medications, when she started the fire in her family's lake view road home on saturday. now she faces arson and murder charges in this, in addition to the two fire fight hours died, two others remain in the hospital. federal investigators are beginning to piece together a

time line leading up to yesterday's deadly commuter train crash in hoboken, new jersey but they are having some trouble retrieving a forward facing camera from the wreckage without actually damaging it. correspondent brooks silva-braga has the latest from hoboken. >> reporter: federal investigators are reviewing video taken ten minutes before train 1614 jumped barriers and slammed into a wall inside the hoboken terminal on thursday. they will be looking at data from the train's black box, that was found last night. >> we are going to be looking at operations, mechanical, and track, signal issues, human performance and survival factors. >> reporter: force of the trash caused a partial roof collapse and left wires dangling. >> it went over bumper block, basically through the air. >> reporter: team of experts are waiting to get glean light about structural integrity of the building before they can begin examining the debris. >> we're going to have to wait to get parts of the canopy remove. >> reporter: thirty-four

down two suspects. >> reporter: crime scene investigation spanning 700 block of west ansbury street overnight here close to 11:00 p.m. thursday 25th district police got calls of the man shot. >> one projectile was actually found right where the victim was laying. >> reporter: victim aged 42 was found lying on the sidewalk with at least one shot to his head. the investigators say it is likely at least four shots were fired, and some at very close range. he was taken to temple university hospital where he died. witnesses report a man in a gray hooded sweat shirt running from the scene, after the gun fire, and this white sedan speeding off. those details went out over police radio as that white sedan was found virtually around corner by eighth and and police found two men in that gray sweat shirt. what they are after now is a motive and account for the victim's final moments. >> he was on the sidewalk just inches from his front steps,

so we're not only ones dealing with this heavy rain we are seeing. parts of the maryland are under what the they are morning. residents in this apartment building on the street here in fruitland were awakened by fire fighters evacuating them. they have been told to prepare to be out of their hems for days and in salisbury parts of the road actually buckled and

collapsed. so not such great news down south, and thankfully we are not dealing with anything quite that bad, here at home, lauren. >> yeah, absolutely, and we are still seeing, the rain coming down. drizzly scene as we are so close to the weekend. not picture you want to see down the shore getting a a live look at skies scan three ocean city new jersey, some people out and about, a couple right there but boardwalk is slick because of the light rainfall and drizzle that will will take us in the rest of the afternoon. we have been dealing with flooding from heavy rainfall across parts of the delaware and minor coastal flooding as well. we saw video earlier down the shore stone harbor, coastal flood advisory has been let to expire across the new jersey coastline, we still have it the in effect for new castle county delaware and salem county, new jersey until 2:00 today. we could see minor coastal flooding at high tide times as we head in the evening hours, so head up around 8:00 in rehoboth beach, moving up this to new jersey, high tides times running from a few minutes before 8:00 to 8:30.

in and around this time frame again we could see minor coastal flooding because of this persistent on shore flow. wind out of the east and north east up around 15 to 20 to 25 miles an hour. and seeing stronger gusts as well. really in the conducive to the umbrella usage unfortunately. we do need some aid with the rain continuing to fall. that is holding back temperatures. only 60 degrees in philadelphia. middle 50's in the lehigh valley. 50 degrees in mount pocono. we're dealing with the mist, foggy conditions. visibility greatly reduce add cross the area down to a mile and a quarter in ac, down to 2 , sunshine, we have not seen it the in a matter have days. storm scan three confirming we are locked in with this cloud cover. rain hazlet up quite a bit though seeing a few showers up in the poconos but otherwise dealing with widespread drizzle across the area. due to this area of low pressure that is stalled out, across portions of the midwest. you can see forward motion just about nil.

talking about another big weather system a category three now major hurricane matthew very close in proximity to south america, which is fairly rare, it is going to make a sharp turn off to the north as we head in the next several days. head up in cuba and then eventually that forecast cone of uncertainty taking it closer to the you had, but right now our models inconsistent in the long range, that potentially matthew will be, push out to sea and not impact u.s. coastline directly but something we will have to watch as we are heading in the coming days. rainfall amounts of been significant over a foot in parts of the delaware, and that is why we are seeing localized rainfall flood ago cross parts of that state and today winnie with period of rain and drizzle will, 65 degrees, breeze which showers and mist still hanging around. 62 degrees, and to the overnight per. future weather showing us, still dealing with rain, continuing across parts of the area, and then as we head into sunday, starting to finally, dry on out.
