those tapes. nbc news has fired billy bush. he was caught having a vulgar conversation about women with donald trump during his stint as host for "access hollywood" back in 2005. once the tape was made public, bush stayed in a statement he was embarrassed and ashamed of his behavior. bush has been at the today show for two months. >> the investigation into hillary clinton's private server uncovers a possible quid pro quo. the controversy surrounds an e-mail about the benghazi attacks. clinton's undersecretary began pushing the fbi to make the e-mail unclassified in exchange he reportedly allowed to offer the fbi to deploy more agents in foreign countries. the fbi says in the end no favors changed hands and the classification level stayed as is. >> you have an fbi agent themselves say that he was in a quid pro quo discussion with the undersecretary of management at the state department, that

stephen colbert. president barack obama sits down with him right here on cbs3. you've been bombarded with their campaign ads for months, toomey and mcginty go face to for the first time. the back and forth in just 3 minutes. first though, an investigation is under way at two lom units tonight after two students report being sexually assaulted on or near campus. >> the most recent attack happened saturday night in newark, delaware. a university of delaware student told police an unknown man grabbed her from behind. she described her attacker as a white male wearing a flat shirt and a beanie hat. a female rowan university student has reported to campus authorities that she was sexually assaulted in a dorm last week. she had been drinking at an off campus party thursday night when

a man from the party offered to walk her home. she woke up in the man's dorm and realized she had been sexually assaulted. philadelphia police tonight are investigating the shooting death of a hus and a father just two steps from his home. 28-year-old johnny was gunned down behind his home on f street last night. he was shot at least four times and died at the hospital. his family and friends who did not want their faces shown say he and his wife had a heartbreaking final conversation. >> she calls him and tells him come home, i heard some shots he said it was me, i'm on the ground. >> he was a real good man. a father figure to his 1-year-old son. i could tell you that all he did was work. that was his life. >> before he passed, police say he told them that he had returned home enter shopping when he was approached by two men and robbed at gunpoint. the investigation continues. >> philadelphia police continue their search for a suspect who

overnight said several cars in a dumpster on fire. this is newly released surveillance video of the suspect in action. he was caught starting a fire in a dump ster. the flames were so fierce that it damaged a car parked nearby. tonight the owner of that car told eye with it niece how he found out what happened. >> i was asleep and somebody was banging on my door. you know what i mean? i came to the door and he said, you the guy who own the maserati. i said yeah. he said it's on fire. i'm angry but i'm grateful at the same time that they was able to catch it early, you know what i mean, and put it out? you know what i'm saying. it still starts up and drives, you know what i mean? >> if caught the suspect faces arson charges. a group of good samaritans springs into action in atlantic county rushing to the aid of a woman ejected from a car and

trapped underneath. seven good samaritans stopped at the accident scene yesterday. they joined forces to lift that car off of the victim and with the car off of that woman, police were able to quickly provide medical attention. >> other people started coming and we all kind of lifted it and two other people kind of just slid her out from underneath. >> first it was kind of like a scramble because no one knew what to do but everything fell into place and we started working together. >> the woman was flown to the hospital with critical injuries. there's no word on her condition. >> you have been bombarded with their ads for months, but tonight the candidates for pennsylvania's u.s. senate seat finally launched their atalks face to face. and as our david spunt reports. the slug fest got prnl. >> pat toomey and donald trump too dangerous for pennsylvania women. >> i'm back delivering the painful truth about shady katie

number of school districts ban clown costumes and some police departments even advise against them. >> you knew it was going that way. state environmental officials now say there is no mountain lion on the loose. >> this grainy photograph taken with a hunter's game scam ra shows what officials say is a large house cat not a mountain lion as some had thought. there's also some moving video of the cat. there have been several sights in the township leading to rumors of a mountain lion on the loose. wine in the glass and in glass bottles could be a thing in the past. >> sales of canned wine have more than doubled over the last year. from $6.4 million to $14.5 billion. one central california wine maker got in on the trend says canned wine is better than

bottles for many reasons. >> canned wine aging better because there's no light hitting the product. >> experts say while canned varieties of wine make up less than 1% of the market. a rocket blasted off in virginia tonight carrying a shipment bound for international space station. >> the rocket lifted off tonight from wallops island, virginia. it's the first rocket of this type since an explosion two years ago that wrokd the launch pad and tea steroid the cargo. the launch provided a show for sky gazers along much of the east coast. folks also got a view of the rocket hurtling towards space. this was the scene earlier on the steps of the philadelphia museum of art. fortunately there wasn't a cloud in the sky. what a sight that is.

>> yeah. not a cloud in the sky. 82 degrees today, kate? >> unbelievable. >> stunning weather today. i have heard from some people that said it hasn't even felt like fall for all that long and we're back to summer again. and it's true. it's been a warm start to fall in september. it's another warm stretch on the way. but it's not going to last. and dare we say this could be the last stretch of 80s we'll have this season. there is always a chance you could get a fluke day and jump back up into the 80s. but once we cool down this weekend, we are getting less and less likely we'll see another 80-degree day this year. so let's enjoy it while we have it because the cold is coming and coming pretty quickly. let's look outside right now we'll take you to a video from earlier tonight. chopper 3 not only call that rocket launch but caught the beautiful hunter's moon, the october full moon. it is not quite full as you can tell on that kind of top right side a little bit of a wane to

it. it's starting to decrease a bit, but just a gorgeous moon outside tonight and viewing conditions were absolutely perfect for it. thanks to chopper 3 for getting that great fot age and picking up the rocket launch as well. here's the time lapse video from today, you can see or maybe you can't see actually the skyline, it's right here in the leadership academy camera. but there was so much fog you really couldn't see it. the skyline appears and that's going to happen tomorrow as well. i do think we'll have some patchy fog in the morning and more sunshine in the afternoon. otherwise it's quiet and you can see the jet stream well off to the north. this system produce prognose shower activity over northern new england. that is not going to impact us. we will benefit from the jet stream being well to the north and this big surge of warmth and moisture from the south. temperatures on the rise and challenging a few more records the next couple of days. right now still very warm, definitely not a night that you need the heat blasting.

68 here in philadelphia, 64 in millville and 67 in atlantic city. today's high was officially 82. that is well short of the record. pretty high record of 89 today, but tomorrow our forecasted high of 84, very close to a more than century old record of 85. wednesday looks like a lock to me. the record is just 80 and will easily climb at least into the low 80s. for tomorrow records to beat across the area, 85 here in the city but reading 85 as well, atlantic city needs to get to 83, trenton 82 and 81 the records in wilmington and allentown. a sunny day tomorrow, no clouds, nothing to worry about. this next weak front will come through wednesday. doesn't have much with it. what we do have to be concerned about is thursday. we start thursday morning here's 8:00 a.m. with a big batch of showers. notice showers are hit or miss on and off through the day and steadier rain could come through on friday along with a decrease in temperatures. so it's not going to last long. overnight partly cloudy, patchy fog, 64 degrees your low.
