"eyewitness news" reporter greg argos is live in lower providence, with more on that investigation, greg. >> reporter: lower providence police, nicole say they are working to obtain surveillance video of this arson. it likely exists from the home owner's camera or cameras at nearby businesses but right new there are no suspects, and no arrests. lower providence township is a community, where support of police is conspicuous. signs, dot yards, others in front of the local businesses. >> i have a lot of military families. >> reporter: on the banister of one home's porch. >> many police friend as well as fire fighters. >> reporter: once flew two american flags, one with the blue line, the other red line. >> there is a thin blue line and thin red line, and support of our local police and fire tenths. >> reporter: but now they are simply healthed, destroyed

early tuesday morning by an unknown arsonist. >> at first i was really angry. and then i got really sad because i have a child. i have a dog. if this had gone any further are then just the flags on to the poles of the deck we could have been suck in the burning house. potentially tied. >> reporter: lower providence police are investigating and say whoever is responsible lighting flags on fire between 1:30 and 7:00 in the morning. >> they brought in detectives. i see people to check out our cameras. >> reporter: hard lah who lives in the home and does not want to give her last name says she hopes cameras caught those sonsible. >> i understand that there is in equality for women, there is in equalities for blacks, hispanic, in equalities all over, but this is not the way to solve it. >> reporter: she has this message for suspect behind this vandalism. >> i'm not taking them down and i will relays them. keep burning them but they will keep coming back. >> reporter: investigators here tell he, there has been a series of car break ins near

the home where this arson took place, i should say but investigators say those crimes and this arson likely not related. we are live from montgomery county, i'm greg argos for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> all right greg, thank you. a small plane crashes in a backyard in lindenwald, camden county. two people aboard were taken to the hospital. this all unfolded in the 500 block of east linden avenue, "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt is live at that scene tonight, david? >> reporter: hi there nicole. quite a scene. it has become a spectacle in this lindenwald neighborhood. i want to back out of the way and give you a live picture. you can see the plane is split in two. it will remain here for next several hours. faa is investigating and they will investigate a little while. nicole, i just spoke to the owner of the plane living in maryland. he tells he he rented the plane out for the day. neighbors on linden avenue ran to the scene after hearing about a plane crash in the

backyard. no one was home at the time. >> it makes your heart race, makes you nervous, you know, and anxious, but knowing that everybody was safe and okay made he feel better. >> reporter: sherry wolf grabbed her daughter by the hand to see what happened. according to authorities plane crashed at 1:00 across from the local fire department. >> you get crazy things that happen, but, you know, obviously you don't see too many airplanes, trying to ditch in the residential area right here. >> reporter: two people were upside down and pulled from the single engine airco plane alive. >> when you look at the wreckage we thought the two guys, were completely deceased, but i'm glad they made it out okay. >> reporter: two men were rushed to cooper hospital by helicopter. >> we're fortunate in the fact that it didn't strike any house, it looks like it came between, you know, about four homes, kind of a diagnal, struck trees and ended up on the ground.

>> reporter: authority are not releasing the name of those two men inside the plane but own shore lives in maryland said plane was part of the flight school in maryland, one man rented it for the day, picked up another friend locally. they crash. i spoke to the home owner who said she was stunned when she got back from work. she had no warning there would be a plane in her yard. we will have more tonight from her coming up on "eyewitness news" at 11:00. nicole and ukee, back to you. >> thank you. unionized faculty members at four state universities in pennsylvania are manning picket lines tonight, five of those schools are in our area. and now many classes at the schools, serving more than 100,000 students are grinding to a halt. "eyewitness news" reporter joe holden spent the day at west chester university, one of the local schools impacted. >> reporter: good evening to you. union says this is unchartered territory, never before have have professors walked out of the classroom but in the end, many observers will say it is the students who stand to lose the most. >> what do we want. >> fair contract. >> when do we want it.

>> now. >> reporter: while many students have their professors back some really want to know how did it get this far. >> it is annoying that they cannot figure out anything because they have had so much time do it. >> reporter: proves on are haven't had a contract in 15 months. the state's final best offer fell short of the health care and salary expectations, as well as some issues with curriculum, including adjunct professors. negotiations collapsed tuesday night, professors at 14 pennsylvania universities walked out at 5:00 o'clock wednesday morning. >> i will remember this, absolutely. i think it is important to stand up for what you think you should fight for and that is what i'm learning here. >> reporter: west chester university union spokesmen says talks with the the state were moving along at a slow pace. >> we have had 15 months to just so little progress that we decided to strike. that should tell you how little has been happening. >> reporter: west chester and other schools pledged to work with students who are by the way paying full tuition while the strike is underway.

central detectives where police and family members of the teenage suspect are now urging him to surrender, alex. >> reporter: that is right. police say this family is fully cooperating, they are not releasing the that i am at this point because he is under the age of 18. rittenhouse square regained its normal appearance and residents were breathing some relief in learning that last night's shooting in the square was not random. >> it is a situation that the two individuals that were initially, the complaintants of the robbery and victims of the robbery, they know, the 17 year-old. >> reporter: police identified and issued a warrant for one of the two suspects that they say approached two people that they knew in an attempted robbery at fun point around 9:30 p.m. investigators say that when a good samaritan interrupted and tried to wrestle the gun away, a 17 year-old suspect shot him five times. >> this is second time something like this happened already, first time the guy got stabbed back there.

>> reporter: that good samaritan well known in the area for selling water bottles is now recovering at the hospital. >> i see him usually on saturday. >> reporter: long time resident gaylen dejohn says the incident solidifies what she says as a lack of police restens and increased leniency with drug use in the square. >> take a deep breath right now. i mean my kids grew up in this park. i grew up in this park. i don't bring them. >> reporter: park is public and equipped with six security cameras, those with eyewitnesses who recognize the suspect assisted police in tracking down the alleged shooter. now as we mentioned before there were two young men involved in this robbery turned shooting. police say they are still looking for a second suspect but their priority has remained on this shooter, and at this hour they are hoping he will come here tonight and turn himself in. reporting live from outside central detectives i'm alexandria hoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> alex, thanks for the

south jersey woman is hoping to reunite a memory card with the rightful own their contains more than 2,000 pictures including wedding photos. >> she spoke with "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter cleve bryan about her mission to save what are, for now, lost memories. >> it is envious, i want to travel world now. >> reporter: tammy from dennis township is seeing world through another person's eyes, rather their photos. she is just trying to help by figuring out who owns this memory card. last week even while her family was on a mini vacation in new york city her husband chris spotted this card in the middle of traffic near 9/11 memorial. >> there is a whole bunch of traffic come so i crossed, went back, picked up sd card and put it in my pocket and i told him would i wait until we

got home to see what was on the card. >> reporter: card has almost 2,000 photos, mostly taken in europe. some captured sites, other special moments, correctively they are clues about where mystery own has been and people he or she knows. >> these are the ones that i thought they had to have known the person because they are quite intimate pictures. >> reporter: she posted these wedding photos on sunday night and hope someone might recognize bride and groom. the hundreds of people shared her posts but three days later still no card owner. >> so beautiful. >> reporter: she gets dialysis seven days a week because she's in full kidney failure and has been on a transplant last for five years. she's going out of her way to help someone else will result in her own good fortune. >> i want to return this to the rightful owner because it is family memories and i know what my memories mean to me. >> reporter: she says she has been contacted by several professionals that want to look at data on the picture file and give her more information to solve this flash card photo mystery.
