52 degrees though, it is actually a lot warmer than it was this same time yesterday in many locations, even in the poconos, still in the 40's, but the winds, there it is, starting to pick up. it is turning more out of the northwest, as well it, will continue to be a theme throughout the day. more than anything just breeze right now. but we can call it pretty blustery, wind gusts easily upward of around 30 miles per hour, hold on to your hat, thankfully you don't need the umbrella today, that said, yes, still little on the chilly side even for the standards of late october, but nice warming trends, to tell you about. so, eventually, changes are on the way there is time they're actually positive, meisha, so some good news, i come bearing later on. >> katie what's not so good news, guess what, i just jinxed it, we just got an accident that popped up. off to the shoulder, sometimes little pooling from the rain we saw yesterday. overall primarily looking nice and dry, so your roadway won't be impacted in that way, but

check now in stable condition. >> man in his 50's, suicidal, armed, possibly intoxicated. two officers from the 24th district responds dollars to the 3800 block of else on, there, met by member of the man's family, who warned he was inside of that house with a knife, apparently trying to harm himself. those two officers went in, and saw that man in the kitchen with a large knife. police say he was asked to drop it but refused, instead, press that knife into his chest. that's when officials say one officer fired a taser to stop him. police say that upset him he ripped out the taser prong. then the officers began backing out of the house, officer reloaded then refired that taser again. officials say the arm man came face-to-face with the officers, on the outside steps of that house and fearing for

their safety, police say both open fire striking the man in his torso. officers used tremendous amount of restraint, and even backing out of the home, so again, yes, they did what they could do at that point in time. >> police say this investigation will parch out more detail, man who was shot is in stable condition at temple hospital. jan, jim, back into you. >> justin, thanks. meanwhile, in other news, investigation is underway in north carolina, after a plane from philadelphia philadelphia international airport was divert interested because of electrical odor on board. this is file video of charlotte douglas international airport where southwest flight 3077 landed last night. the plane was originally bound for tampa, florida, and there were no visible smoke or fire and the plane's now being inspected. passengers completed their trip on another plane. >> well, the ntsb will investigate what caused plane caring vice presidential candidate mike penned to skid off a runway.

mike mcqueary $7.3 million. the jury found penn state defamed mcqueary after it became public his testimony helped prosecutors charge jerry sandusky. now, divorced and living his parents in state college, mcqueary testified he has been unable to find work since the sandusky scandal came to light. mcqueary and his lawyers have not yet commented, nor have lawyers for penn state. >> well, coming up: protesters arrested, a chaotic scene as officers clear a scene in north dakota. >> people protesting the pipeline were detained. number of people now in jail and the reason police say this isn't over. >> and forceably removed. a woman is taken off the stage right as the debate is about to begin. but she is a candidate. the message she delivered right before this happened, and reaction from the other two candidate. we will be back.

let's keep fall. i like to ease into these things. >> i'm with you. but i worked in up-state new york syracuse, we've had snow well before this time before. >> absolutely, and the lake effect starts to kick in around this time of year. so not that uncommon that springfield, massachusetts would see snow. avenue request. i want to get abut on that's got you saying oivae so we can hit it whenever we need it. i love it. so, okay, at least we obviously didn't have any snow across our area. rain was the main issue. take a look at just how much rain we ended up with. obviously not exhaustive list. did pick up over half inch in macungie, pa, wilmington picked up over .6 of an inch, just shy of half inch in philadelphia, after it was all said and done. so, even though we had multiple hours of rain, it wasn't a deluge that whole time. so, you know, it was something that will help chip away at the rainfall deficit that we do currently have, but it wasn't enough to cause any major flooding issues. and at this point the storm itself is really pulling away. still very nice organization

to it. yep, still some snow up across the canadian border, into parts every maine, but we are done with the precipitation essentially, you can see though the lake enhancement that's been going on here, northwest wind flow, you come down far enough from lake erie and ontario, and any of the other great lakes, and you can see not just residual clouds, maybe little rain, even some snow. that's a lot of time how they get the heaviest snowfalls across those areas right next to the lakes. for now back here at home, just sunny, cool, blustery. the wind gusts will easily peak as high as 30 miles per hour any time here today. dropping down to 42 under nice clear sky tonight, then we come up on halloween, weekends is worth the wait. so stay tuned for the seven day here. but the halloween itself, as many of you will be out trick-or-treating with the kids, mostly sunny, creepily cool we call it, 06 degrees, so basically where we should bement looks like nice crisp fall day for the holiday. but check out what you've got sandwiched inbetween here, low to mid 70s, are you kidding me for saturday, sunday? saturday looks awesome. watch for clouds to build sunday and late day shower,
