we begin with breaking news this morning, it is what everyone has been waiting for. septa and the transit workers union reach a tent tiff deal to end the strike. and that's welcome news for the nearly 1 million commuters who rely on septa. >> "eyewitness news" reporter trang do broke the news on twitter outside, frank, what do you know? >> reporter: jim, rahel, we learned this tentative deal had been reached, just after 3:00 this morning. and though we don't know the terms of the deal at this point, we're told the deal will be official once septa management as well as union leader sign off it, so hit little bit after snafu, though, here is video of a pour outage downtown where the talks had been ongoing. it sets both sides back to their respective offices.

negotiations did continue, with tent tiff deal struck overnight. now, last night, twu local 234 president willie brown told us that both sides were very close to an agreement, that it was all coming down to language. and this morning, he we were able to briefly speak to septa chairman, and here's what he had to say. >> i think we'll be okay. >> an agreement in principal. everything will be fine once we sign everything, okay? >> now, both septa and the union had been preparing for, court hearing this morning, after both septa and the city of philadelphia found injunctions to ends this strike. even temporarily, just for the reelection, but with the news that appears to be unnecessary. now, septa will still need some time to get fully operational. they estimate about 16 hours with the first services up and running between four and six hours after this deal is signed, but we will stay here, bring you the very latest, as soon as we get it.
