20s all stabbed at least two also shot. >> fortunately it's rare but by the same token it's kind of what's going on in society today. >> reporter: police say a man was first found shot in his leg inside an apartment at building 198 on st. paul street. then moments later a few blocks away on harvard street police say the two other men were found. the scene sent three schools onlock down sparking parents concerned at elementary schools. >> makes me very nervous. i mean, i was in panic mode. >> that's terrifying. it is unfortunate this is happening directly in front of my daughter's classroom and that's very frightening to me. >> reporter: so far no arrests. police say an intersection camera identified the vehicle as a 2015 white ford focus with a license plate number gyr371 #. the driver and man seen walk loose. and a 3-- and the three victims

and they are all expected to chantee lans. himself in an apartment was virginia. police say daniel william murdered a 68-year-old man and kidnapped the man's wife in virginia. he then drove -- stole their van and drove to fitchburg where he used toly the. used to live. police tracked him to the apartment and he shot himself. the virginia victims are his former in-laws. >> he was bound to a chair and strangled to death. his wife also 68 was missing and presumed kidnapped. >> william is in critical condition. police are still searching for. [audio not understandable] case files in the boston marathon bombing have been unsealed and they are giving us a glimpse into the first hours after dzhokhar tsarnaev was captured. kate merrill is working this story. >> reporter: hundreds of

pages we have been plowing through all afternoon and many are procedural showing lawyers arguing with lawyers others give us a look at his condition after the shoot out and arrest and they claim fbi agents lied to him about his brother. this is the long list of documents exhibits and motions unseal today. nearly 10 months after dzhokhar tsarnaev was convicted of carrying out the boston this motion was filed by his lawyers and paints a picture of a seriously wounded tsarnaev captured hiding in a boat in a watertown backyard. and ending a manhunt the likes of which we have never seen before. arguing that the authorities should not have interrogated him off and on for 36 hours, his lawyers say tsarnaev suffered from gunshot wounds including one to the head which injury. they claimed strong pain killers clouded his mind and

his jaw wired close and injuries to the left ear left him unable to hear on that side. younger tsarnaev's attorney says the fbi lied to him about his brother who had been killed. is my brother alive i know you said he is are you lying they say he asked? the motion claims tsarnaev was denied a lawyer even though he asked for one. he wrote the word lawyer 10 times sometimes circling it according to the documents. even though two public defenders tried to see the injured tsarnaev in the hospital they say they were not allowed to meet with him. that's just one of the hundreds of documents being unsaleed --unsealed in the case there's other details like specifics on the tape and glue that were used to make the bombs. kate merrill wbz news. a man who narrowly missed getting hit by a flying tire before it killed another driver says god was watching over him. >> how quickly like can be snatched from you.

128 and lexington and the tire flew off a pickup on the southbound side and bounced on the other side of the road. it slammed into the windshield of a lexington man's car killing him. amazingly the tire skipped over john's car and his thoughts are with the man who was killed. >> the victim and his family and i am just grateful it was family or friends. but at the same time, tough have compassion for that poor guy. >> the victim was 26-year-old charles hu from lexington. the tire came off a 1997 dodge ram and police are checking the truck and service records to try to find out why it came loose. a broken fan caused the explosion and fire at quincy mwra plapt the state fire marshal says industrial circulation fan filed release dust cloud filled with sulfur.

five workers were hurt there. tonight veterans and the people who work to help them are completely stunned by what cbs news learned about the wound warrior project. the cbs news investigation found former employees who believe the charity is now more focused on raising money than actually helping veterans. i team reporter lauren leamanczyk talked to employees. >> reporter: this is creating buzz along veterans charities and says there's no excuse for wound warriors project to spend so much on parties and trips and none of the many charities i spoke with could point to amassachusetts sold year who -- soldier who receives direct services. lavish parties 2500 dollar bar tabs and expensive resorts that's what cbs news found when they investigated the wound warrior project. one of the nation's best known veterans charities. new hampshire native helped bloat whistle on over the top

two during a fierce nor'easter and four coast guardsmen went into the teeth of the storm to rescue 32 men. >> the windshield smashed and he lost his compass and all he had was the search light and radio. >> hold on. >> reporter: they were in a 36 foot wooden vote and staring at 50 foot seas. >> i was dragging. >> reporter: he was supposed to go but was sick so his buddy andy fitzgerald went and when the crowe made it back, with all 32 sailors, mel asked andy how bad it was.>> what happened the first time the boat went out in the water. was were you thinking he said i forgot to go to the bathroom. >> reporter: four young coast guardsmen in the heart of a february nor'easter. and they made it back. why did they go? >> they were told to go. you might not like it, but you do what you are told. >> reporter: they had a thing in the coast guard, you have to go out but you don't have to come back.

was the cold week and after that, well we are back to the old tricks running well above that normal number and right now 41 in boston. 40 in lawrence hyannis at 39. worcester at 33. and it will be much colder tonight. very much a wintry evening. lows 18 to 25 and 26 in the city and clearing skies brilliant starlight and beautiful start to the day tomorrow. a few icy spots and tomorrow is another great day. less wind and a lot of sunshine and you're probably noticing. sun feels better now than at the end of the december. heading towards tomorrow afternoon and evening the clouds will increase ahead of the next weather system. but a quiet night sunset at 4:52. looking at high temps around boston tomorrow. worcester up to 37. and hyannis at 41. snow melt continues. anyone outside of the cape and islands that's just about done with the snow and it won't be adding up all that much in the days to come. we are watching one storm system across the southeast. and this little column shaped storm system moving through the

they will try to link up heading into late tomorrow night and friday morning. now the main part of the storm stays offshore. basically the heaviest rain and snow and strongest winds but it will be a path between the ocean storm and the disturbance to the west. we call that a trough. essentially a little area that extends out from the system and that's where air comes together and it produces rain and snow and i expect us to see snow here on friday before we dry out by evening. there's another system that moves in on saturday and this most likely to bring snow showers to northern new england and flurries locally. what are we talking about for friday morning. i think there's going to be light accumulations maybe a couple inches here. and it's going to be a game time decision where by tomorrow night we should bic aable to focus on the areas. expect snow in the air eastern massachusetts as well as new hampshire and main coast and towards the cape and islands rain may mix in and that would hold down accumulations. temperatures won't be terribly cold for all this. should have a impact on friday morning drive.

on saturday and chance for a few flurries and sunday, right back up into the 40s again. more melting snow will get sunshine to mix in. warmest temps in the afternoon and brightest skies and in ski sunday try they will get fresh snow on friday and saturday and sunday lower 40s. almost too comfortable and in fact by february 1st, monday, i think we will make a run towards 60 degrees in parts of the area. tremendously mild start to the month. we will be well into the the 40s on -- well into the 40s on tuesday. and the next system stays to the west meaning we are going to stay on the wet start in the middle of next week. accu-weather 7-day and every day is above average throughout that. couple days in the 50s and again maybe on monday a chance for someone to hit 60. if you are looking for the cold to return we are not saying bye to winter by the end of next week start of next weekend, a lot of cold in the month of february. david and paula back to you. >> thanks. new at 6 a ground breaking garden boston bruins owner and
