this is wbz this morning. good morning everybody! it is 6:00 on this saturday, made it to the weekend. woohoo! we are glad you are with us today. what a mild week we have ahead. i don't want to jinx it and get too excited, enjoy it. >> going into february like this. 50s and near 60 coming up, crazy. today will be one of those colder days we're starting off with temperatures around freezing, 32 in boston, 30, hour by hour forecast. throughout the day, though, you see a few clouds passing by and through 4:30 p.m. temperatures will be right around 40 degrees, still in the upper 30s mid-30s once we get that sun to start setting. day planner today going 42 for that high temp by 3:00. increasing clouds, more clouds over night tonight helping trap into that daytime heat and the wind coming from the southwest, that will continue to be a trend into sunday giving us

sunday with more 50s on the way and when we'll get close to 60 in that seven day forecast in just a bit. all right pamela thanks so much. we do begin with a developing story power is slowly being restored to a neighborhood. the scene of a frightening accident around 6 p.m. a cement truck driver clipped low-hanging wires on hazelmere road. the force ripped the wires and the pole down on the cab of his truck, those wires were live which means the driver couldn't get out on his own without serious risk to his life. rescuers were able to free him but it took about four hours. ever source has been on scene to restore power to the neighborhood, the good news neither the truck driver nor anyone else involved was hurt. a little girl left alone on a school van is safe and back with her family this morning.

walking heard the girl crying on the bus and called 911. police found the girl in the back of the van, she had been alone for 5 hours. the child attends the page academy in rocksbury, police are investigating why nobody knew she was there. this morning dozens of gang members caught up in a massive sweep agents say they are members of a gang notorious for murdering their victims withmachetes and recruiting members from local schools. >> reporter: if boston high school according to federal investigators a recruiting ground for violent street gangs? students say, they know the game. >> write in the bathroom ms and stuff like that. >> ms13 recruit gangs with large immigrant populations east boston, chelsea and everest. >> were you surprised they were going in to recruit? i don't know the details i'm not going to talk about the

america we have some gang problems going on. the feds indicted 56 alleged members. >> not just out to hurt or punch, out to kill. >> saying ms is responsible for the murder of three teens. wilson martinez, an irvin castro back in september. christopher perez died from his injuries two weeks ago likely victims of an initiation. >> the initiation process is extremely violent. >> detect detectives showed off the gangs guns. officers say the gang targets their own. boston's mayor wants the recent arrest to help stop recruitment of students. really the message is to kids to keep you safe, we'll continue to do everything we can to make sure that young people in our schools can go to schools without interference. >> all of the alleged gang members are over the age of 18.

one of three dangerous fugitives who escaped a jail in california is back behind bars he surrendered 6 days after allegedly escaping from a maximum security facility in a stolen car. they are questioning a teacher who worked at the jail they believe she played a vital role in helping the three escape. dzhokar tsarnaev is formally appealing his conviction. the attorney filed their paper work explaining their reasons in a separate filing but one likely strategy would be to argue the trial should have been moved out of boston. tsarnaev has been sentenced to death for the attack. another hit for daily online fantasy sports gambling sites the company that handles payments is pulling out according to the new york times the payment processer is they'll stop processing february.

one of clinton's hollywood connections aims to give a boost in new hampshire yesterday actor ted danson campaigns the former cheer's star helped open a phone bank concord. the next move for those opposing the construction of a natural gas pipeline, the globe is reporting that federal agent energy regulators have cleared the way for the pipeline. they rejected the environmental and safety concerns to residents the link will deliver natural gas to national grid and ever source. the mayor has been against the project and his office is now reviewing whether or not to ask a federal court to block the pipeline. >> two demonstrators arrested for blocking traffic on interstate 93 last year pleaded guilty the globe is reporting a west virginia man and a resident of finland were both sentenced to 6 months probation and 65 hours of community service.

trigger maybe a couple showers a few sprinkles more clouds moving through but once we get into especially tuesday as this front kind of stalls out for several hours into tuesday morning we'll notice a little bit of a change-up in those temperatures getting slightly cooler for groundhog day but still a high of 46 so we're back to some warmth on wednesday. here is that seven day 42 today, sunday 50. 56 degrees on monday groundhog day tuesday 46 wednesday that's the day that we could be chasing that record high, close to 60 but rain is likely. if i get treated i can go on and live a healthy life. listen to this. this 25-year-old woman is in the fight for her life against hepatitis c. a prescription drug could change her life at costs tens of thousands of dollars, and her insurance company won't pay for it until her condition gets worse.

get close to 60 coming up in just a few minutes. thank you looking at some of our top stories, it took hours but the driver of a cement truck was rescued after being trapped in his cab. the truck knocked down live electrical wires utility workers had to be called in and power had to be shut off in the neighborhood to free the driver. he was not injured crews worked to repair the downed line. prosecutors in boston taking dangerous gang off the streets people of the ms13 gang have been arrested in a major crime sweep in summerville. the gang is largely made up of salvadorian immigrants, the gang has allegedly recruited new members at local high school. investigators are working to figure out what started a fire that killed a couple early friday morning the fire was so intelligence firefighters

yesterday an 86-year-old braintree woman drove into the washington street coffee shop. no one was hurt fortunately but investigators are trying to figure out what caused that crash. three police officers are now on paid leave because of a deadly shooting, police say they were serving a search warrant on randolph mclain when he pointed a gun at the officers that's when they fired killing mclain. in new hampshire this driver learned the hard way not to run away from troopers along i-95, police say they had to taser gray to get him into custody after finding 25 grams of heroin on him. he is now nursing those wounds behind bars. wentworth institution of
