she was attacked. what she did was enough to scare him off. >> screaming. she called for help. >> reporter: piercing screams that caught the attention of residents on pool's lane wednesday night. >> i heard it first and wasn't sure and then i heard it a second time and didn't seem normal. i went outside. >> the family called 9-1-1 and ran to the aide of a said she was assaulted right across the street from their home on a rural road. >> an individual on a bike tried to grab her or pushed her down or tried to take her clothes >> she did everything she was supposed to do. she screamed and got someone's attention. >> police have added patrols in the area to reassure the residents.

we're dealing with popup showers and the storms as a cold front moved through and we're hot in boston. 90 degrees and the few spotty showers are progressing in the southeast part of the state. right around on the cape producing heavy downpours but no lightning showing up. those move offshore within the next couple hours. dew point temperatures in the 70s. in the 60s and that's a good indication that we will get an air flow and dryer air pushing in for the weekend. hour hour by hour, the skies clear. starry nights and a beautiful low with 65 degrees here in boston. humidity lowering for tomorrow. highs in the 80s further inland. low 80s along the coast as a

a comfortable night for some inland but a warm 68 degrees in boston. and for the beach forecast tomorrow, 78 to 83 degrees. cooler than you had the last couple days plenty of room for you to stretch out and have the lawn chairs and the umbrellas tomorrow's temperatures cooler at the coast. warmer inland with communities getting closer to 90 degrees. dry heat as humidity is low. low humid nights, overnight, they will be fantastic for star gazing. if you look to the west, just after sunset, you see venus, saturn and mercury the closest together they will be for the year. temperatures in the 80s for weekend. sunday 88 degrees. nice and toasty, but, again, low humidity. we'll take it. monday, 90 degrees.

so far mosquitoes have infected 43 people in the united states. a french court put a halt on the burkini ban. towns have passed laws barring women from wearing the full- body bathing suit. a court overturned those laws one mayor plans to ignore it and to continue to enforce the ban. plus scammers feel brazen and targeted a local police department.
