live from the channel 4 studios this is wbz news at noon. breaking news right now at noon one man is dead in an over-involved shooting. >> good afternoon. >> thanks for joining us. lin-manuel shore drive. >> police are not releasing many details right now but we know this is happening on the 300-block of lin-manuel shore drive. you can see all the police activity in the area. authorities are telling us one man was killed. there are no reports of any other injuries

the shooting. the district attorney's office is responding. some more breaking news for you right now a crash in roxbury, 3 cars damaged, debris all over the street. witnesses say the driver who caused this chaos was trying to get away from police. >> this happened just as the morning rush was wrapping up. we're live from roxbury. >> reporter: witnesses tell us it was a wild scene earlier this morning. they say a man was this intersection and took off running down the street. that red car that you're seeing in video witnesses say the man ran away. and witnesses also telling us that there was a woman and a baby in this nissan. you can see the driver's seat air bag deployed after it drove into the million box.

woman trapped inside the car. now, this whole incident is still under investigation and the intersection has since reopened. you can look for an update in our later newscasts. also breaking news in the whitey bulger cases. the u.s. supreme court says they will not hear the appeal. he appealed his conviction on 11 murders and other crimes claiming he should have been able to mention a immunity deal he struck with a prosecutor. now, the new england patriots and the return of tom brady. he was spotted working out yesterday in preparation for his return today. the quarterback is back with the team. >> and this could signal the

showing the 25-year old everett man arriving here at court this morning. he said nothing to reporters as he entered, all of this of course stemming from a crash outside of gillette stadium sunday afternoon. we'll show you some video of that scene as well. troopers directing traffic following the patriots game actually to stop rodriguez for allegedly driving his motorcycle recklessly near the main entrance but troopers say he refused to stop and continued driving south in the northbound lanes until he crashed into a massachusetts state police captain on route 1 just outside of the stadium. that captain was taken to boston medical center with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be okay. rodriguez is still awaiting to

game 3, game 4 is on monday if necessary. turning to the tropic this is noon hati is bracing for hurricane matthew as the category iv storm churns in the atlantic. this video shows the powerful storm is already starting bring rain to the island. it's expected to bring up to 40 inches of rain to hati. >> and the people are bracing for flash flooding and violent wi this is going to be catastrophic for places like jamaica and hati. the eye of matthew obviously right around that is where you get the concentrated strongest winds. 35 miles per -- miles outside of that center is where this hurricane force winds extend and then 185 miles out in the center of the storm is where you get tropical storm force winds. the storm has been strengthening the

ago now, has matthew with 140-mile per hour sustained winds gusting to 165. this means business. this is part of the problem slowly at 6 miles per hour. some of the bands are starting impact place like the dr and hati and far eastern portion of jamaica it will still an category iv major hurricane as it crosses likely just wet of hati overnight tonight and tomorrow and the eastern tip impacted next still a category iii major hurricane at that point for wednesday and into thursday. and by friday morning this is at 8 a.m. category ii storm just off the coastline of florida. you still have that kind of uncertainty matthew is likely to take a little jog to the north where it goes after that is the big question mark for the eastern seaboard. a lot of it has to do with the jet stream.
