down. and then they put them in the ambulance and took them off. >> reporter: he says the only two people who were hurt in this, again, the small suv, a toyota, is in that brick wall that connects the brownstone. behind that brick wall is a garden area as well as a garage. the firefighters are here. and inspectal services is also here as they determine if is structurally safe. and also breaking tonight, a box truck hitting a winchester home. the driver was putting something in the back, we're told, when the truck rolled about 150 feet into the corner of the garage. fortunately no one was hurt. the garage, as you can see, is going to need some repairs. the police did cite the driver for defective equipment. and two more breaking stories tonight. the big problems now on the mbta. disabled trains on the red line and the orange line.

appears to be more serious. a motor overheated and the witnesses are saying on social media that the train filled up with smoke at the back bay station. we have seen video of people actually kicking out windows. the other breaking story is in central italy where two earthquakes hit the area causing buildings to collapse. a witness describes the aftershocks as, quote, apocalyptic. there are reports of just and something that we are watching closely. lisa? and a woman found alive, thankfully, three days after she went missing. the 75-year-old was found disoriented but safe behind a neighboring house. and she may have been using a boat in the back yard there as shelter. tonight she is in the hospital, but we're told she should be okay. and jim smith is live with more on this tonight. jim?

bring you a story that high school a relatively happy ending. this woman had been missing since sunday and the nights have been very cold. tonight she has been found safe. it was right in here? >> yes. right behind here. >> reporter: jennifer lauren takes us to the exact spot, the back in her back yard where a missing woman was found safe and alive after three days of searching. the 75-year-old suffers from demen -- dementia and parkinson's. concern had been mounting for found here in this yard just this afternoon. >> my husband woke me up. i was home sick today. and he said they found her and she is in our yard so i immediately jumped up. i couldn't believe it. we have checked this yard. people have been in this yard every day since she went missing. how could she be here? i was in disbelief. >> reporter: jennifer's camper door was also ajar so she thinks katherine may have also spent some time in there, too. the emergency crews responded

were found by the fire fightser who was searching. >> conscious, awake, we're loading her in the ambulance now. we're getting the vitals. we need a lot of warm fluid. >> by the time i got outside, they were taking her here on the stretcher. i was so scared. as soon -- i asked somebody, is she alive? that's all i kept asking. yeah, she is alive. and i just broke down crying. >> reporter: it really is amazing, and the police tonight tell us that she general hospital and they are hoping that she will make a complete recovery, but she has been through a lot. jim smith, wbz news. >> thank goodness they found her before the weather rolls in. we are on the storm watch. heavy wind, rain and maybe snow on the way. our chief meteorologist eric fisher joins us. eric? >> reporter: the feel of november outside a little breezy a little chilly. here is the storm system we're watching. snow coming down across michigan.

some rain showers now. and there is more rain moving in after that. we're dry tonight. in the short term, it is all about the chill. worcester is sitting at 40. pits field at 37 degrees. so it is going to drop off very quickly. the frost advisories many blue. and the frost advisories include the coastline. tonight definitely a good night to cover up the plants. as we head into the day tomorrow, you see the clouds thickening up. even a chance for a couple now, that band is going to start moving its way in. even though you see gren on the map heading into the -- green on the map. and as we head into the evening, it all changes over to rain. that rain will really start to pick up during the overnight and we might see thunder and lightning, and this, a chance for strong wind gusts. we could see one to two inches of rain and it starts to wind down. the worst of it looks to be during the overnight tomorrow

the chance for snow. david? thank you. we want to get back to the big problems on the mbta. but this video that we just got in is at the orange line at the back bay station, and it is dramatic. what you're going the see here is smoke from an overhead motor that is causing people to knock out windows on this particular subway to try to get people off the train. you see people struggling to get that or it was obviously taken by somebody who was there at the back bay station and is now making their way to the exit. but at another point you can see them kicking out the windows. obviously panic in the air as smoke filled the back bay station. this is causing problems throughout the orange line bus of the disabled train. we mentioned an issue on the red line as well that is nowhere near as bad as what we're seeing now. back bay station, and you'll see the dramatic video.

subway train you know that the instructions say you can kick them out in case of an emergency, and that's exactly what people were doing as they made their way toward the escalator and trying to get out of here. the only thing we have heard so far from the t. is it was an overhead motor. we don't know precisely what that means, but that is what was causing the smoke. at this day and age when people see smoke, they worry there is something bigger going on. viewer who was watching all of this happen. as soon as we get more information, we'll pass it along to you. also here at 5:00, a woman walking on a rail trail through marblehead is attacked. the investigators say that a man on a bicycle exposed himself, and then tried to grab the woman. the police then crushed to the scene. they have been searching the nearby woods, and they put a local school into lockdown because of it.

much more. >> reporter: and the victim said he was wearing a grayish winter hat that pulled down to a ski mask to his nose. a search dog moved through the wooded trail from marble head to salem. the last area where a cyclist was scene after he scared a woman walking alone in broad daylight. >> and exposed himself and reached out and tried to grab her. >> reporter: it happened right next to athletic fields a private school that was in lockdown for the second half of the day. >> we shut down all activity. we have some sports teams that were practicing in the gym inside. >> reporter: the incident had police turning people away from the trail to make room for searchers. >> you can go up the street. >> all right. >> reporter: but the police say the fact that the rail trail is normally such a popular spot,

she screamed alerting others who called 911 for her. >> and people use it all the time for walking, jogging, walking dogs, biking. i use it pretty much every day. >> bad things can happen anywhere. you have to be vigilant. be aware. >> reporter: the victim told police this man was riding a trek style mountain bike and what she described as muted color tones. the school here had special procedures in place when the parents came to pick up their children. th something similar at drop-off tomorrow morning. in mariahead, christina hager, wbz news. a three-time boston champion is now stripped from one of her titles. >> they will remember her as the woman who won the boston marathon in 2013 and 2014. she has now been stripped of the 2014 title and banned from the sport for the next two

drugs in 2014, the same year that she won one of those boston marathons. at that time she was suspended for two years. now that ban has been extended to 2018 and she has been strip offed the boston course record that she set in 2014. she also won the 2016 and 2013 boston marathons. she will keep those tight rahals. and the first -- keep those titles. and the first woman who runs this marathon sa strong message but the culture of the sport needs to change. >> i think it is a step in the right direction but we have a long way to go. the people who put these athletes in this situation demanding that they take drugs also have to be policed. we really, really need to clean it up. >> the both athletic association says it supports the decision to strip her of that 2014 title and that it will try to reclaim the 175,000 she won after that race. david and lisa?

we want to bring you the very latest on our breaking news. the orange line service is suspended because of this. a disabled train. there are disabled trains at the red and the orange li but this is the real problem. this is back bay station. an overhead motor apparently overheated. the train car filled with smoke and people, system of them in a panic, broke the windows to get out of the train and up the stairs and out of the station. we have been trying to get this for you, but what we understand is people are now on the sidewalk outside the station. you can see system of them leaving the station -- some of them leaving the station there. this is going to be a factor for some time naddition to

the buses, the passengers are advised they can take the green line into downtown boston. and also tonight, sniffing out danger at logan airport, canine officers are now on patrol to try to detect explosives. we are used to seeing the dog sniffing security. >> reporter: it is not a typical dog's life for these pups. they go through 12 weeks of before coming here to logan airport where they will increase safety for passengers. this is jag, don't be surprised if you see her the next time you're catching a flight out of boston logan airport. this is the first time canines are being used for passenger screening. they are trained for explosives. >> so logan has had explosive detection canine but now these canines are being used

screening, so screening passengers as opposed to traditional detection canines that are used to detect maybe an unattended bag or an unattended vehicle at the curbside. >> reporter: they detect the air coming off a person and what they are carrying through the airport. watch as a decoy walks through how much her behavior changes when she picks up a suspicious scent. her connection with jazz is a crucial component to the screening. >> and you'll see that excitement come from and what she'll do, she'll try to explain to me that, hey, i found something, daddy, and i want to my because i found it. they provide a great deterrent, a great way to help protect and serve the people here at logan international airport and wherever we might be deployed. >> reporter: this program is rolling out nationwide. there are currently 330 passenger screening canine teams across the country.

degree mark. officially 37 to start the day. it didn't warm up too much. it is 46 now. portsmouth at 46 degrees. worcester already about to drop into the 30s here around dinnertime. what we're watching is high pressure to the north keeping the cold air in place. this is our next depositing storm system that is moving in from parts of the great lakes states. that is going to bring us mostly rain and a little bit of snow as we look toward the day tomorrow. as for tonight's terps, a colder. we'll be back in the 20s for most locations. we could have patchy frost, especially for upper cape cod. a little too much wind. a little too much cloud cover. the frost advisories are up all along the coast and the freeze warnings a little farther inland. if you still have the garden going that don't like the cold, tonight would be the night to cover them up or bring them in. tomorrow, cold notes. also a chance for a couple of

in eastern massachusetts. the winds are going to be turning more easterly. as we move past lunchtime, we start to bring in that rain. even though this particular model has rainfall all across central massachusetts, i do think there is a good chance that at the beginning we will see wet snow and it will eventually transition over to rain. temperatures will be above freezing, so the road will be fine and it really wouldn't accumulate to much. and tomorrow night, a chance for some re downpours. even some funder and -- thunder and lightning where these heave -- lightning. and with these heavier down pours, we could get the wind goes. most of that -- wind gusts. most of that winds down. and drier air pours in for friday afternoon. in terms of wind dusts -- gusts, and it will be over cape cod and the islands.

coming down a very blustery day on friday as we dry out and bring in that much drier air. in terms of snowfall, again, no real accumulation. but we will see wet snow to rain. anyone east of 495, all rainfall. one to three inches of wet snow is expected in the berkshires. in terms of rain, one to maybe as much as two inches of total rainfall. that would be great when it comes to drought denting. we look at th had other four inches in boston. if we get more rain, we're talking wettest most since almost two years ago. a little preview of the weekend, it looks like a blustery day but a milder day and a chance for an isolated shower or two. so not a lot of active weather. a typical, late object weekend. -- october weekend. highs in the upper 50s for the weekend. mid 50s on sunday.

welcome back. we have the breaking news the first one here. the orange line train over heating and filling the underground area of the back bay station with smoke. in this video you see people kicking the windows out of that train. it had to have been terrifying. we know this is an overheated motor that caused the smoke, but in that instance, right there, nobody knew what was happening. right now the mbta is unaware of any injuries. the orange line service is

square. they're busing passengers in that area now. and they are also asking people who need to get downtown to use the green line. i want to send it out to the phone now with the very latest from the back bay station. what can you tell us? >> julie is at back bay station. we're going to try to reach her in just a second have the connection, i'm going to toss it back. this is from someone else who was in the hallway there as people were kicking out those windows getting off the train. you'll notice while there is some sense of urgency, there is no real panic here. the passengers seem to be helping one another get out and also get back off the ground once they fell out of those windows now. julie is with us now at the back bay station. what can you tell us?
