maybe some people are not ready for it. mitch sent in this picture from lennox, massachusetts. you see a little bit of fall mixing in. here here is a look another radar. too warm for that with the snow going as far east. that line is retreating off towards the west now. no accumulation central and eastern mass. we'll be looking for a rainy night. no question about that. the heaviest rain in the middle of the night. you could see the localized flash flooding in the middle of the road, not when they are out there on the streets, but a chance for scattered hundred dollar -- chance for a scattered wind gust. tonight the sheriff deputy who ended the mall rampage says that he still struggles with memories from that night.

one point. when we asked voters to share one word that would be used to describe the candidates, well you can see why it is so close. liar and corrupt dominate clinton's cloud with positive terms like qualified and experienced lagging behind. that's an awful showing for a candidate who has been campaigning in new hampshire for herself or her husband for 25 years. but if clinton's word cloud is ominous, trump's is apocalyptic. that doesn't leave much room like strong and leader to breakthrough. just nine months ago trump won the new hampshire primary with unfavorable ratings in the 40s. now they are well up into the 60s. that's not the trend line you want to be seeing as you come down to voting day. >> just based on the word clouds we know both those candidates are pretty unpopular. what is it that is giving clinton the edge?

women, right? first female and first party nominee. even the gender gap is cold comfort for her. her eight-point edge is certainly a plus, but that's smaller than the usual gender gap. a troubling sign for the first female major party nominee. but there's better news for clinton when it comes to the party support. our polls show 84% of the democrats back her. the standard partisan result for presidenti of the republicans in his corner and that is a problem that is just plaguing him throughout this race. unless he closes that gap new hampshire might be problematic for him. >> with just 12 days or something to go what affects the outcome of this race? >> well for one thing lately you've heard donald trump talking a lot about obamacare as the rates spike. that'll be a big issue in new hampshire for years now. if he was talking about that

i just want what's best for my kids. when i hear arguments that massachusetts needs more charter schools, i think: what about the students in all of our schools? every new charter takes away more money from the existing public schools. that's 400 million dollars, just last year. we can't afford to drain even more money from our kids' schools because they're already losing so much. i'm fighting for yours, too.

springfield mass would get an inch. just shy of an inch of snow as well, boston will not measure any snowfall. these are the earliest dates on record for all the cities. about a couple weeks later than october 10 on the books. the snow line has been retreating throughout upstate new york as well with that pink color as well. then areas of rainfall elsewhere. that'll be the main thing for us. as the storm starts to develop a little bit more we should get the heavier town pours. that's where you can see some of the largest rainfall totals stack up. almost a perfect fence locked in. then had the warm ocean air has made their way into central

40s. temperatures will move up a little bit throughout the overnight hours. some areas of rainfall will continue this evening. the chance for the e heavier downpours are after midnight tonight. a wave of heavy rain will lift up. it'll be here until early tomorrow morning with a little thunder or lightning. that is is where we will also find their strongest wind gusts. still some rain lingering, drying out there towards late morning. so i think that we will with two areas. then the downpours will be most likely tonight. so this is just a look at their computer model. most areas will see an inch or two before the heavier downpours occur. that includes their north shore area until 10:00 tomorrow morning. wind gust 30 to 50 miles per hour, stronger in the downpours.

see some of their strongest winds. tomorrow morning is still going to be quite windy before the winds will turn around to the northwest. then it is just a blustery day. so we will start the day with that rain tapering off. by midday it's partly sunny with a little bit of more clouds than anything else. the highs in the lower 50s. then we will start to becoming blustery for us. the storms will depart with the next system that will bring in some clouds on saturday with a slight chance for showers, but most of the day will be dry. the next system will try to sneak in here bringing in a few rain showers as well. for most of the weekend they're dry. we're in the upper 50s, breezy out of the southwest then into the 50s on sunday. then things will slow down just

chickapee because of the snow, bringing us a messy mix of weather. good evening to you i'm david wade. >> i'm lisa hughes. it is making a messy commute largely because of the rain. we'll show you the traffic maps with a lot of red on the roadways, which means that it will take more time to get to anywhere. we'll take you to eric fisher tracking it all for us tonight. >> reporter: an interesting storm for october. we've had quite a bit of snow across the region. getting further east than worcester. i got a though. you can see where the line has set up just west of pittsburgh on route 2 over towards orange, likely seeing the wet snow mix in. the pink shadings here is is where you would have some sleet pellets that go through barry. then once you head through worcester and anywhere east of there it is all about the rain. for most of us and most of you watching tonight, this is going to be a rain event. heavier rainfall is falling across parts of rhode island reaching towards franklin and

steadier rain. it'll be a pretty raw night as we do need the rain. we'll have heavier downpours through the overnight hours. 32 degrees in springfield. 35 at hartford. during the middle of the afternoon when you're in october, it's a pretty odd occurrence. no question about that. but this time of the year the ocean is warming up for the wind off the ocean to warm up all over eastern mass into the 40s. no snow there. we have wind advisories out from the north shore down through boston. 10:00 in the morning. so through this morning expect the rains to be scattered about. the heaviest rain is after midnight. you see this one band that will sweep up across the area and early tomorrow morning. this is where we could get a little thunder and lightning. it is also how they will channel down those stronger winds gusting up late tonight and very early tomorrow morning. but the last of the rain in new hampshire for the commute, exiting by late morning.
