at the case, ana good morning. good morning kate, federal prosecutors are recommending a reduced sentence for a 71-year- old because of his deteriorating health in 2011 the former house speaker was sentenced to 8 years in prison for corruption, he has nearly 5 years of that sentence is director of the u.s. bureau of prisons is recommending that dimasi be sentenced to time served because he and prostate cancers, and issues require him to use a feeding tube. mark wolf says the recommendation doesn't include any hard evidence, on dimasi's medical history in prison or current medical condition the judge posed a question whether the director's decision to file a motion was influenced by the former political status. if granted the bureau of prisons is asking dimasi to have supervised release, he

wife and son. a student who brought a gun into a boston school will be disciplined according to the principal at the trotter school in roxberry. they found the unload weapon in the student's locker they arrested the boy but won't release his name because he is a minor. a boy dies days after attending the halloween house party in lowell another teenager is facing serious charges prosecutors say - castillo's head into a concrete floor during an under age party at a barn. court documents show it was an hour before castillo was taken to the hospital. kids told police nobody wanted to help or call 911, castillo died yesterday morning after being taken off life support. >> the victim stumbled in by accident and the defendant responded by picking him upturning him up and slamming

the ground and then the car stopped and the people started screaming and then somebody said call 911. >> police at this point say neither speed nor alcohol were factors in this incident. we're live in lowell, nicole jacobs wbz. a beverly man being held after pleading not guilty to drunk driving charges in a crash that injured a mother and twin daughters in salem. police say 52-year-old dexter mitchell crossed the street during the city's halloween celebration. prosecutors say mitchell took off and only turned himself in after ditching a 12 pack of beer in a near by dumpster, saying a nurse witnessed the crash and asked for help the family is at mass general with serious injury. crews battling a house fire, flames sparked the home around 4:00 so far we don't have any reports of injuries but we'll keep you updated on
