live from the channel 4 studios in boston, wbz news at noon starts now with breaking news. an emergency at falmoth police headquarters. they were called to the police station to transport three people to the hospital after an altercation. the call came in around 10:00 this morning. we have not confirmed if any of how it started but working to get you more information as soon as we can. two former aides of new jersey governor chris christie have been convicted in the bridgegate trial. christie's form deputy chief of staff and a member of the port authority were also found guilty on all counts of plotting to use an epic traffic jam on the george washington bridge as political revenge. the two could face up to 20 years in prison when they are sentenced next year. christie has denied any knowledge of the plot but both defendants testified he was

before or during the traffic jam. campaign 2016, the candidates making their final pitch to voters today. a big turnout for the last day of early voting in massachusetts, secretary of state william galvin is urging poll locations to stay open until 5:00 tonight at least to accommodate voters. right now the candidates are crisscrossing the country trying to win over any undecided voters out there. both campaigns are in new hampshire today, a battleground state up for grabs. a new suffolk university boston clinton tied in the battleground state, both candidates at 42% in new hampshire, 8% of voters remain undecided. chelsea clinton will be in keen and andover, new hampshire today. we will also take a look at atkinson, new hampshire where donald trump is scheduled to speak in just a few minutes. wbz's nicole jacobs is live there as supporters rally for trump. nicole. >> reporter: chris, crews were supposed to -- i should say

names to drum up support. nancy cordes reports. >> reporter: clinton starred on superstar pharrell and bernie sanders to help drum up support in student rich raleigh, north carolina. >> this campaign is not a personality contest. we are not voting for high school president. >> reporter: clinton argued she has got one presidential trait that is often underrated. >> listening to hear your stories, what you're worried about and then people together. >> reporter: as she spoke, her long time aide, huma abedin hit a fundraiser in washington on her behalf. abedin has not traveled with clinton since last friday when the fbi director announced agents would examine e-mails of hers found on her estranged husband's laptop. cbs learned the e-mails are not duplicates of e-mails found on clinton's server from her time as secretary of state.

tried to enter a jordanian air base in the southern part of that country. a third american was hurt. no word on what sparked that shooting. and now to a developing story this noon, state police say they are trying to identify a pedestrian hit and killed on 128 south. police say the victim was hit by several vehicles around 10:30 last night. it's still unclear why the person was walking on the highway in the first place. two young women are recovering after they were hit by a car while trying to cross the street the accident happened near the campus of umass dartmouth last night. the driver of the car stayed at the scene. so far no charges. turning to the weather now. take a live look outside over the city of boston, the charles river, all looks quiet out there but as weekends go, this is going to be a nice one for november standards. >> it is, chris. we are going to be no the low 50s so a little bit cooler the next couple of days and not too bad overall. i think you're going to like it. 55 in boston currently, pretty seasonal day out there with

spots, keen, new hampshire, for example, sitting at 49 degrees, 45 in bennington, 46 in pitchfield in the berkshires right now and middle 50s from taunton back down to the capen islands. a couple puffy, cumulus clouds out there, fair weather clouds. the wind is a little bit gusty out there making it feel cooler. it's out of the north- northwest, that wind gusting over 20 miles per hour and that's pretty much as high as it will get through the remainder of the are tending to melt away tonight and we are going to cool off so you got friday evening plans, definitely want to be bundled up a bit, eventually dipping into the upper 20s in some of the coldest suburbs, 36 in downtown boston and your weekend is looking pretty good. we do get building clouds tomorrow. i can't rule out an isolated sprinkle. we will be in the low 50s but most of the weekend is dry, breezy and cooler around 50 on sunday. we will talk about a warmup for election day coming up and, of course, you can keep track of your weather anytime including

to help us now and in the future. officials say moving forward they will team up with the office of sexual assault prevention to educate their players. a northeastern student is suing the school saying it didn't do enough to protect her after a sexual assault there. morgan healthman says he was drinking at a party at an ra's apartment in 2013 when a male student brought her home. two days later healthman reported the case to officials. the northeastern found the male student didn't violate the conduct code and rejected healthman's demands to move the man out of her dorm. >> the expectation if when you drink that you will get hung over the next day and maybe wake up with a groggy head, you don't expect to be sexually assaulted and if that does happen, you know, the school will take care of it. >> healthman says she still sees her alleged attacker on campus. she decided to stay at the

northeastern released a statement saying they have not yet seen the lawsuit but that the safety of their students is its top priority. a raleigh police officer is on administrative leave. officer robert adams was texting and driving two weeks ago when he got into an accident in the city. they say he then left the scene. lynn police have cited him for those actions. no one was hurt. taking down the bridge, a major traffic headache coming this weekend. you're going to want to hear about this one. in a few hours parts of 128 in needham wie highland ave bridge. starts at 8:00 tonight when the northbound lanes will close. tomorrow both the north and southbound lanes will be shut down to traffic. massdot is asking drivers to avoid the area all weekend long. the work is scheduled to be finished in time for the monday morning commute. going underwater to make sure our roadways are safe. today we got a look at massdot's unusual team diving deep to check on local bridges.

and real cold water and hopefully if it doesn't leak, it does keep you warm. >> reporter: it's likely the least visible role of the massdot but one of the most critical. divers who take on tough conditions to inspect bridges from under the water. >> very crucial for the safety of the public, you know, they don't know what's going on underneath the water and the only way to determine if there's any scour or any issues is for us to inspect it. >> reporter: today divers are inspecting the bridge over that pops -- naponzit river. in all they suspect about 1000 bridges across massachusetts. >> we look for the river bed to erode, we look for concrete deterioration, we look for piles and pillars to see if they have damage. >> reporter: these divers also make important repairs, all while struggling with strong currents, murky waters, cold

series with a parade here. fans have packed streets and parks as they mark history. this is the cubs' first world series win in 108 years. the parade started at wrigley field. the team is now winding through the city and end in about an hour or so at grant park where they will hold a rally. in true chicago fashion, the city turned the chicago river blue today to honor the cubs world series win. they are going to -- they are good for st. paddy's day, blue for the chicago cubs win. let's talk about the weekend. a pretty good one. >> we may have a sprinkle but i think most of the weekend is going to be dry. >> cool. >> a sprinkle, we can handle that. it will be isolated and we will be in the 50s. temperature tracker, the forecast highs, now, we should be in the middle 50s for this time of the year. we will be slightly below that over the next few days and then look at that warmup for election day we are going to be around 60 degrees on tuesday,

so a little bit above average as we head into the middle part of next week. by the way, the drought monitor has been updated. it was updated yesterday and we are talking about a significant deficit still in a lot of spots, although there was significant improvement especially south of town back down to cape cod, we obviously need all the rain drops we can get and, unfortunately, there's just not a lot in the forecast, really over the next seven to eight days. the threat is really, really low. it's almost 0%. we will put a little threat for a stray sprinkle in there but that's abou happens with the drought update next week. 55 in boston right now, 52 in lawrence, upper 40s in laconia, 51 in concord, 54 in fitchburg and most of us running into the lower to middle 50s right now, cool fall day, gusty north wind and a few puffy cumulus clouds, the fair weather ones that are not going to produce rainfall, just decorating the sky through the remainder of the afternoon and evening. back to the west, not a whole lot going on, a couple of

canada and that's where our weather is going to be coming from over the next couple of days. what you're going to notice tomorrow for our saturday is sunshine in the morning, snow showers in the mountains and then for us we get building clouds, again an isolated sprinkle, most of us won't see it. sunday morning we start with sun and clouds and i think clouds will build in at the coastline on sunday and we may turn everycast for a period, especially for the second half of the day. cooler on sunday too and the wind is going to kick up a bit as ll going to subside tonight and it will be chilly, though. 36 in boston, some of the suburbs tonight are going to dip into the upper 20s, bedford, norwood 29 tonight, same in jaffray. tomorrow low to mid-50s, very similar to today but the difference is that there won't be as much wind so that will make it feel better. the clouds are going to build in in the afternoon and then sunday cooler and the wind does kick up a bit.

this evened -- this weekend. upper 40s to low 50s for high temperatures, cooler than average, then that warmup begins. again, sunshine, 52 on monday, same for election days, and looks like we stay in the upper 50s through the middle part of the week. >> fantastic. thank you very much, danielle. setting the clocks back this weekend could put you at risk on the roads for weeks. an insurance researcher call 10% increase in crash claims in the month following the end of daylight saving time. most of the crashes are right after sunset, claims go up as much as 30% between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. new this noon, samsung recalling 2.8 million washing machines. the consumer product safety commission says those machines could explode causing injury. so far nine people have been hurt when the top deattaches from the machine. they were sold at best buy, home depot, lowe's and sears
