the world on alert. new travel warnings after bombs tear through brussels. >> there was dust and there was debris and there was the smell. >> the warning signs before it

happened. the manhunt still under way. and the questions of whether another attack is in the works. tonight, the world is once again in mourning. >> within the last few hours, the state department issued a traveling warning for all u.s. citizens in europe. a manhunt continues for a third suspect linked to the airport bombings. right-hand side of the screen with the hat and the light-colored jacket. at least 31 people were killed and more than 200 injured in the atta attacks. >> massive crowds gather in brussels in solidarity, prayer and remembrance tonight. it's calm after a horrific storm. two explosions rocked the airport. a woman cowers clutching a child. another seen calling loved ones to say she is alive. fires erupt from the first explosions. at least 11 are killed. the survivors begin running.

>> everyone was in panic. we had to run. just because the situation was such -- yeah. it was -- everyone was scared. everyone run. >> reporter: minutes later -- another explosion rips through a subway. >> we felt a small blast of air and we heard some thudding in the distance. >> reporter: dozens flee through the distance along the tracks. bombs and at least 20 more people dead. more than 200 injured. sparking a massive search for three suspects caught on surveillance. tw on the left blew themselves up. authorities say the man on the right is still out there. another nail-filled bomb, chemical products and an isis flag and no suspect who ignited fear. >> difficult to take the train. but you must -- you must have the courage to take it because if you don't, then normal life,

you give the terrorists the chance to win the game and that -- we can't do this. >> president obama's ordered all american flags at half staff through saturday. he says that it's a sign the american people stand with the people of brussels. >> there is no specific threat to philadelphia or the united states but police aren't taking any chances. whether you're traveling through the air or on the rails, you will notice stepped up security. >> nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal has that part of the story and continuing live coverage at suburban station. >> reporter: extra attention ahead of the march madness tournament on thursday. lots of people taking septa to south philadelphia and many officers looking for suspicious unattended bags. on this tense day for all public transportation -- the sounds of classical music calming the halls at suburban station and a

heavy police presence with bomb-sniffing dogs putting rush hour ride earls at ease. >> we have to believe they're doing everything they can to keep us safe. >> reporter: more patrols ahead of the tournament this week. the big concern, unattended bags with possible explosives, transit police nationwide now sharing intelligence but so far no threats. >> we'll be more visible. and we are asking the public to be more aware. >> reporter: at philly international, flights to brussels canceled until friday. increased security here, too. this attack had been foreshadowed for weeks. juan garza in belgium passed through the same station bombed a few days ago. >> the moment we arrive on the train station, there were so security guys and, like, mainly with big guns. >> reporter: he says they could almost sense an attack coming. >> now that it happened, it

feels crazy for us. >> reporter: now law enforcement worldwide asking the public to keep their eyes wide open. >> if you see something suspicious and the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, we want to know. call 911 immediately. >> reporter: and one more note on the airports. american airlines telling us one of the first scheduled flights to brussels philadelphia sometime on friday. live at suburban station, randy gyllenhaal, nbc 10 news. >> thank you. landmarks lit up to honor the victims of the attacks. in paris, the eiffel tower bathed in light. in berlin, the brandenberg gate glowed. similar scene in new york city and 1 world trade center lit up lower manhattan. learning about the americans who survived the terror attacks, a former sixers star. we'll have those stories coming up in a few minutes.

yes. i don't think we want to be inciting fears and playing to people's searches so that we turn against one another. >> both clinton and cruz agreed on one thing -- attacking donald trump on foreign policy. >> voters in our area will finally have their say in the election beginning next month. voters in pennsylvania and delaware go to the polls april 26th and new jersey voters cast their ballots june 7th. hillary for pennsylvania supporters hard at work for the candidate. nbc 10 and society hill, a phone bank to get the word out about clinton. her opponent bernie sanders is already setting up shop in pennsylvania. his campaign opened a new headquarters in scranton. it's sanders first office in the state. to this now, president obama wrapped up his historic trip to cuba with a last sitdown with cuban leader castro. president obama maintained the schedule while receiving constant updates on brussels. he and castro batched a baseball

game together. earlier in the day, president obama addressed the cuban people in an unprecedented live speech acknowledging the country's political differences and stressed any change in their relationship must begin with the people. >> believe in the cuban people. this is not just a policy of normalizing relations with the cuban government. the united states of america's normalizing relations with the cuban people. >> president obama left cuba for a two-day trip to argentina. he is the first u.s. president to visit the country in more than two decades. turning to the weather and tonight's night to hit the skate park. nbc 10 where we found skaters enjoying the mild temperatures. looks like mother nature pulling a fun trick of her own. seems like. the ice skating videos not long ago to the skate borders out there. quickly, the change in

temperatures, how fast that happens. >> we wanted the warm temperatures. let's bring in glenn "hurricane" schwartz. tracking a nice warm-up for us? >> yes. it is not that cold this time of night. 50 degrees out there and 10 to 15 degrees warmer than we were at this time last night and we have jumped quite a bit in the temperature department from sunday. 43-degree high. it snowed at night. 51 degrees yesterday. 58 for the high today. 70 degrees tomorrow, 73 degrees on thursday. we'll see how long that warm spell lasts. if it's going to last through the easter weekend and see rain with the 7-day in a few minutes. we are following breaking news out of west philadelphia. police say a 3-year-old girl rushed to the hospital after she was found crewing on a packet of crack cocaine at a day care this

morning. it happened at the works of learning early day care. the girl tested positive for the drug tonight and unclear where she got it from. no one is charged at this point. oh [ bleep ]. the easter bunny. oh, the easter bunny throwing hands. >> you heard that right. an update on the bunny brawl at a north jersey man. the men in the fight made the first appearances in court today. police say a father began attacking the man playing the easter bunny at the newport center mall sunday night. it happened after the man's 1-year-old daughter fell from a chair while getting the photo taken. new information about a police standoff in north philadelphia. police say the s.w.a.t. team arrested a homicide suspect on the run from south carolina. officers say u.s. marshals tracked him to a home near 24th and clifford street. no word on the suspect's identity. the aclu says it's prepared to level sanctions against the

city of philadelphia in federal court that's if the police force doesn't drop the stop and frisk practices. a report founds racial bias in the department's practices. this comes despite a reform demand from the feds years ago. first half of last year, made without required reasonable cause. african-americans accounted for 69% of all stops and 57% of those frisks. >> they see us. you know, they're thinking we're somebody else we're not. you know? we're, you know, as you can say productive citizens of society. >> police commissioner ross says there will be no audits and more accountability for the practice. the faces of terror. these are some of the pictures taken as the world struggles to understand yet another attack. next, the americans who

streets. inspectors called it a painted ad and since there was no permit, the mural had to be removed but now the department of licenses and inspections says the mural is political speech so no permit is required. sarah palin is set to return to the small screen and she will have a gavel. she's signed a deal to shoot a pilot for reality courtroom tv show. she will serve as a tv judge, mediating and deciding cases brought before her fictional court. this is not palin's first time doing reality tv. she starred in "sarah palin's alaska" a few years ago. teachers in philadelphia, you got a chance to find out how to lock down a spot. superintendent held a teacher information center at district headquarters in center city. the doctor says the district's plans to hire nearly 800 teachers for the school year with the goal of schools fully

weekend looking pretty good. and definitely warm side for easter sunday. the flag's not blowing as hard as it was earlier. we had gusty southwest winds. now 8 miles per hour. it's 50 degrees chas pretty high temperature for this time of night at this time of the year. and upper 40s much of the rest of the area. 46 in mt. holly. one of the cooler spots, you can see it's 48 degrees at atlantic city and millville. and also in wilmington. so we're going to have a pretty high base to start from during the day tomorrow. as you can see, the lowest we'll go is about 46 degrees and look at that. by 11:00 a.m., already up to 60. so we are going to see the temperature jump tomorrow morning when the sun comes out. look at the temperatures. back to the west. it's so warm back here. it has to get warm. in our part of the country, the air's coming right from that direction. got well into the 70s there

during the day today. we've got some clouds moving in from the west and it's still dry and it's going to stay dry tomorrow and in to the day thursday. some of these showers could affect us by thursday night. so as we go through the night, you can see pretty warm start to the day. by afternoon, we are talking about temperatures near 70 but not right at the beaches. new jersey, atlantic city, look at that. 48 degrees with the wind coming in off that colder ocean. so don't go walking on the boardwalk expecting 70 degrees tomorrow. and then on thursday, it's another warm start. and look how warm it gets there. into the low 70s once again. not that warm. at the shore. and there are the should recalls may be coming in as early as thursday night and friday morning. not as cold as last night. 47 for the low. 39 north and west and during the day tomorrow a lot of sunshine. some high clouds and much warmer than today.
